Great first cruise- we will definitely cruise again in the future! There was always something interesting and fun to do, and we enjoyed the diversity of our fellow travelers. Ultimate Dining Package was the way to go!

Food and Dining

We did the ultimate dining package and loved it. We never ate at the main dining room. We enjoyed eating at Park Cafe, Chops, and Sabor for lunch, and we ate at Giovanni's (1 time), Chops (2 dinners) , 150 (1 dinner), Samba (2 times), and Izumi's for dinner. The servers were wonderful- they worked really hard to to be attentive and please us. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gave excellent recommendations for our meals. We enjoyed using the Promenade Cafe for snacks/coffee and also got hot dogs at the boardwalk. One of our favorite features was having continental breakfast delivered to our room- the staff that brought the food was always so polite! It was really fun to try out so many different signature cocktails at the restaurants and clubs- my personal favorite was the cucumber martini at 150. :)

Entertainment

We saw Mamma Mia, Ice Games, Aqua Aria, part of Madagascar kids show, Blue Planet, and the comedy show. We were astounded at how fantastic the acrobats and divers were in Aqua Aria, and loved Mamma Mia. We enjoyed watching the 70s dance/street party on the Promenade- it was such a fun atmosphere. It was also a great surprise that the Mamma Mia cast danced with us in the Flash Mob- that was my favorite on-board activity. The Prohibition Party atmosphere, hors d'ouvres, and "tea" were awesome- the musicians were great and most of the guests were dressed in their 20s costumes- really fun!

Service and Staff

We were in room 7112 and Olivia kept our room clean and organized throughout each day. We really liked Kelly the Dance Instructor and Enrique. Cruise Director Jimmy and Activities Director Grant kept us laughing and well-informed with their hilarious morning TV program!

We were on the forward 7th deck and it turned out to be a perfect starting point for all our adventures. We only had to go down one floor for yoga and the spa the and Boardwalk, down 2 floors to the Promenade, up a floor to Central Park, etc. Because we were centrally located, we walked up and down the stairs a lot and that was good exercise. We did not have to wait long the few times we used the elevators. I never felt like the common areas were dirty- the trashcans were always emptied and tables cleared/cleaned pretty much immediately. The restrooms were always clean. We had plenty of hand sanitizer available in locations around the ship as well.
Cabin / Stateroom

The bed was very comfortable and the linens felt nice. We liked having cabinets and drawers to put things away and it was nice to be able to store our suitcases under the bed instead of in the closet. We didn't hear the neighbors talking or other ship noise (besides the thrusters as we came into port). Since we were just 2 people, the room size was good- not claustrophobic (even we didn't spend a ton of time there anyway!)
Ship tip
Make use of the cruise compass, it was handy to help plan your day. Ask questions of staff if you have them (we thought they were happy to help!)
We enjoyed it, but felt like it was not a very authentic experience of what Haiti is really like- more like Disneyland in Haiti. Ziplining was really awesome and the staff was great, the food served was excellent and there was plenty of it, and we enjoyed the artisan village. The performers who came out during lunch were a lot of fun. The fresh coconut was delicious!
Beautiful port area. We did the Dreamer Catamaran snorkeling and Eco Tour. The staff on the boat were fantastic and we had a great first experience snorkeling. The Eco Tour was actually my favorite part- I am a science teacher and loved when the staff brought up a bunch of things from the water to show us and talked about conservation in Montego Bay. My husband had an iced coffee from Blue Mountain and said it was the best coffee he had ever had-we enjoyed listening to the band by the port as well. It was a really fun day!
Did not really shop at the port area- we did the Salsa, Salsa, and Margaritas Excursion. It was so much fun! We learned how to make a bunch of salsas and margaritas and to salsa dance. We could not have asked for better staff for our adventure (Fernando was our tour guide, Brianna and Pita were the dancing chefs) and we enjoyed swimming at the pool afterwards at the resort.
We did the express checkout and got in line with our bags around 6:15. We were guided through the port by staff and the lines were quick! We had downloaded the mobile app for customs and the machine wasn't working when we got there, but there will still no issue leaving the ship.
