Review summary

Hurricane Irma changed our whole course. We went more on the Western cruise than the Eastern one but the staff did a great job. There were constant changes but they were great keeping us updated as soon as they new something. We went to Cozumel, Falmouth, Jamaica, Costa Maya, Mexico and back to Cozumel. The captain and staff did a great job getting us into ports and out scheduling us for new ports at a moments notice and making sure that we had the supplies we all needed. They worked tirelessly on making arrangements so that we were a day at sea and a day in port the entire trip. Even though we did not initially want to go on the western cruise again we had a wonderful trip and a great vacation. After the first day I was so relaxed I was not sure what day it was. Thank you to the entire crew of Allure of the Seas.

Embarkation

Less than 20min to go from the cab thru the line of what looked like a million people but we shuffled through so quickly. Many people directing you and lots of people to ask questions if you were not sure. Very smooth entry.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Sofiane Jabrallah was my head waiter, the first evening at dinner I told them I had food allergies and he came right over. He was so attentive to my needs and showed genuine concern for my safety with what I could and could not eat. I did not have one episode and I usually make things a home and still have problems, they made it look effortless. He made sure I had a beautiful and delicious meal every night, I truly looked forward to dinner as to what I would have and he would surprise me with a dessert every night. My thanks to Sofiane and to the chefs on board. Fantastic job. I miss them already.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Zip line, mini golf, flow rider, swimming, hot tubs, shuffleboard, bean toss, walking around to explore, fitness track was lovely. Exercise room was very nice clean and well laid out. So many choices we were never bored.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Savannah Jack excellent band, Blue planet great show, Aqua Aria fantastic performance, Monopoly on Ice was spectacular. We also went to two comedy shows both fantastic. All shows were of the highest quality.

Children's Programs

We did not have any children but seemed to have lots of things for them to do.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Sofiane Jabrallah head waiter and Yullia our assistant waiter were fantastic. Both were very attentive to your needs like being in a 5 star restaurant the entire ship. By the end of the cruise they felt like family. Can't thank them enough for keeping me safe from the foods I am allergic too. Did not have one problem my entire cruise. And that is no easy task, I have problems on my own at home, I was very impressed can't even get this type of service at a 5 star restaurant.

Ship Quality

Beautiful ship well laid out, Loved walking through central park. Would be nice to have the overhangs a little larger when it was sprinkling you could not listen to the music as the areas were full. Also crew was very concerned about washing hands always out with the hand sanitizers. Going off ship and on board and whenever entering the dinning rooms. Thank you for that.

Cabin / Stateroom

Very nice had just the right amount of room king bed, couch, tv, bath. You only go there to sleep anyway. The room could have been a little cleaner. Found some hair in bathroom and one of the sheets looked dirty but that was only the first day was better after that. Rest of the trip things were clean and changed.

Ship tip

Loved the Grande dinning room for dinner Staff excellent and Icon Grill for breakfast staff also excellent gets you in food is great and any dietary needs they are very attentive. Love the Central park, the rear of ship with the outdoor arena and tv screens. Also liked the fitness track, wave runner fun to watch, zip line was fun would like it to be longer and have some way to slow you down as you approach. So many options shuffle board, mini golf, swimming, just walking around to look at the ship, paintings, decks to look out at the ocean so many options. Just had a wonderful time.

Disembarkation

We took our own luggage off they moved us right along got into port around 8am off ship by 8:30. The staff did a fantastic job. With getting on and off, the service while on board, the constant changes because of Hurricane Irma the entire crew did an amazing job. It seemed every day there were changes and they may not have been able to keep up with changing the tv screen but we received reports every night as to what the itinerary was the next day.
