For us, the ship was too big and had too many people. Usually I gain about five pounds when I cruise. On this ship I did not gain any because I had to do so much walking to get everywhere. That is good and bad. I did like the wayfinders all over the ship. That was very helpful. Despite all of my negative input, my husband and I still had a good time and basically enjoyed the ship. It is very beautiful. He was on leave from Afghanistan and needed the rest and relaxation. He said it was a nice vacation.

It went very smoothly with not too much wait time.

Food and Dining

We chose the my time dining and were assigned the American Icon dining room. It was so noisy in there that we never went back. The food was good. The buffet tables in the Windjammer are not set up well. It is hard to get around them when there are a lot of people. We did room service on night and it was great. We have never been charged a service fee before, but considering all of the food we got, it was fine. We also tipped the guy who delivered it. We were very disappointed that there were not more options for refreshments that were complimentary. We eventually bought a refreshment package (non-alcoholic) but I think that the price was way too high. Then to my disappointment the Café Promenade ran out of the chai drink that was pretty much the only thing that I drank besides water. My husband continued to use it, but we never felt like we got our moneys worth. Perhaps this program works well for those who drink a lot of soda. But who drinks $26 worth of soda in one day?
Onboard Activities

We spent all of our pool time in the Solarium which was great. I loved the pool because it was slightly cool and refreshing.
Entertainment

We went to Mama Mia (excellent), Ocean Aria (excellent), adult ice show (ok) and the bottomless brunch with galley tour. The tour was awesome, food...ok....we had to ask for bread that everyone else had at their table and then there was no butter at our table or the table next to us.
Children's Programs
no children
Service and Staff

Our room steward was a great guy. Very friendly, very helpful. However, Sunday night my husband inquired about having his suit and shirt pressed. The steward told him to fill out the paper and leave the clothes in the room Monday morning and he would take care of them. The note said they would be back by 5:30. When we returned from our excursion, the clothes were not back. We asked the steward because Monday night is formal night and we planned to go. He stated that if we wanted them rushed, we had to note that on the paper. This was not mentioned to us on Sunday night. Therefore, we missed formal night. We were very disappointed, but just went somewhere else to eat. We did go to the second formal night. Despite all of this, we still gave him an extra tip because all in all he was a great guy. I don't want to get him in any trouble.
One afternoon we went to the Boardwalk and walked up to the bar to get a drink. The lady who was dressed in what looked like a captains outfit was on her phone texting. After she finished, she asked "What can I get you?" She got our drink, handed it to us and went right back to texting. I was going to get her name and report it, but my husband said let it go.
Other than that, all of the other staff we encountered were great.

I loved Central Park. The common areas were clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

Bathroom was very clean all of the time. Did not find a clothes line in the shower like most ships have. I did not like the layout. There was not much room between the bed and the wall to walk. I was checking down the side of the couch for something and found a child's toy down there. This tells me the cleaning of the room is minimal. I realize that there are a lot of rooms to clean with a minimum amount of time to do it, but cleanliness is important to me. I was happy with all of the storage spaces.
Ship tip
I would not recommend this ship nor would I sail on it again.
Thank you to you as well, JohnsonL for your service & sacrifices! Thank you also for putting things into perspective for us, sometimes we forget just how blessed we truly are. God speed & blessings 😇
ChrisJa we appreciate everyone's honesty in giving their comments. It does help us going forward. I don't see it as a complaint, it's one persons opinion. We are all entitled to voice them.
Thank you for your service and to your other half for keeping the homestead intact and planning a great vacation for you upon your return. TandDWilliams' comments do reflect some of the challenges with the Oasis class ships but obviously there are many many things to do and enjoy on these floating resorts. Perhaps for your next Cruise you might pick a smaller ship like Freedom of the Seas or Jewel of the Seas for a bit more relaxed cruise with even better service.
I know you to know that every day is a blessing and if your partner enjoyed it that's really all that matters, thank you both and welcome home. Our Marine has spent three tours in the desert and I did two before people knew we were there, and I guarantee you that either of us would have been thrilled to be on board Allure of the Seas coming home on leave.
Nothing on this planet is perfect but I think you hit a homerun with this vacation. Thank you again for all of us who have gone away and were blessed enough to come back home to family, friends, and love evidenced by someone that would plan r&r on a superb cruise ship.
I'm sure you did your review before you booked your trip, you must have known it's the second largest Cruise ship in the world, you know the amount of passengers +crew so why are you complaining?!
Thanks for the service ya this ship does have a lot of people on it is not for everybody we said we saw it and were done with it but now we booked again this will be our third time onboard
