Review summary

The Allure of the Seas is an amazing ship.  I found the personnel to be pleasant and efficient.  They were always willing to help to make our cruise everything that we wanted.  The disembarking at all ports including Ft. Lauderdale was extremely efficient.  The food was great and our waiters were fabulous.

Thank you for posting your review.

Another thing about Cozumel's pier.  A few years back, a pier was obliterated by a massive hurricane (can't remember which one). The damage was horrific and we saw it first-hand. Literally the platform was gone and all we saw was the remaining rebar and concrete pilings above the water line. I know there has been a lot of work done to rebuild and repair. We visited the port in 2015 and it looked completely different.

I loved my two cruises on the Oasis and the Allure.  We had so much fun on the Oasis that we brought another couple with us on the Allure.

Regarding the Cozumel port, we saw a lot of construction and new potential at the RCCL pier last year (2015).  However, the other cruise ship pier, easily visible and a short walk away, is more mature and has several shops we have visited so many times that we have developed friendships with the proprietors.  And there are more musicians, street performers, and clean bathrooms at that pier.  All of these being the case, we walked over to the other pier last year which made the pier experience top rate for us.  Of course you can also go downtown or on excursions.  Over the years and on several cruises, we went from liking Cozumel, to being bored with it, and in the last few years, we love it, because we just relax and enjoy it with no expectation of adventure unless we book an excursion.
