Review summary

On this trip, we booked the SHIP... we knew it would be full, and on this one there were 6300 passengers, 2200 were "kids".  As a couple looking for a quiet, relaxing cruise... the Allure can still deliver at this capacity.  You have to understand that there are lots of people, but, you can get away when you need to.

We love the Solarium adult-only area on the Oasis class ships.  That is always our favorite place to hang out.  We love the view, the all-glass surround, and the quiet.  It was a wonderful week.

We were on the 14th floor, right off the "sun deck" and right across from the kids play area. We were expecting a lot of noise, but were pleasantly surprised. The ship does a great job of sound-proofing. The room was nice, and the balcony was comfortable to sit on. We did have a little noise from the whirlpool, as it was right over our head, and the whirlpool pumps were apparently TIGHT next door to us. But, it was tolerable.

Ship tip

Secret breakfast place - The Wipeout Cafe. We loved getting fresh made omelets and eggs in the morning, in a very quiet corner of the ship. MUCH nicer than the sometime chaotic setting of the Windjammer.

One of our favorite beach days. Grab some chairs on the beach. Sit and relax all day. Do a little shopping. And enjoy the beach picnic Royal provides for you.

Personally, we like just shopping at the pier shopping area. It has everything you need to wander and buy some rum, some trinkets and shirts... and get back to the ship.

SHOPPING DAY! Walk to town, if you LIKE to walk. It takes us 45-60 minutes of walking to get in to town. You pass some shopping spots along the way for a break if you need it. OR, for $8 you can get a taxi ride (for up to four people) and you get right into town in a few minutes. Town has great shopping for everyone. Stop at Pancho's Backyard for lunch, and head back when you are tired. AWESOME DAY!

We just got off this morning. What a beautiful ship. We've been on other cruises and this has by far been the most beautiful ship I've seen. Yes there were a lot of people, we didn't feel crowded unless we were at the pool. We booked the same cruise for March.
