Review summary
Enjoyed our first time on Allure of the Seas. We travelled with a group of 13 adults and had a great time, largely due to our dining wait staff, excellent service! The food was very good, was very impressed with the half duck served for dinner one evening. The prime rib was also excellent! We all enjoyed the roast beef sandwich and yummy salads offered in the Park Café, although seating was limited. Downside for us was the noise, very active ship with over 5,000 passengers, lots of music everywhere and crowded buffets in the Windjammer; tables were very close to each other. Ate breakfast in the main dining room one day and was disappointed with the eggs benedict (a bit overcooked) and the buffet there had the same items as the Windjammer. Please do something about the lack of good television programming in the cabins. I know you're supposed to be out enjoying the other activities, but we like to wind down with some tv in the evenings or late afternoons getting ready for dinner and there were only a couple of "good" channels. Worst tv offerings of the 13 cruises we've been on (Princess has great programming, lots of wonderful options and new movies!).
Enjoyed the Ocean Aria and Beatlemania shows; a few of our friends napped during the Chicago musical (we skipped it). I thought the Blue Planet show was strange, but my hubby liked it. Joined the flash mob dance classes, that was fun. Our instructor, Layla from Australia was wonderful. It was a good cruise, but I doubt we'll sail on the Allure of the Seas again. Too many people and too noisy.

Bring comfortable shoes for walking...on the ship! It's so big, you'll get a good walk just finding your cabin each day.

Enjoyed your review thoroughly. Must agree with the television programming. It's understandable, ALLURE would like us out of the cabin and enjoy many faceted opportunities aboard the ship. However, we like to wind down to enjoy our wonderfully designed staterooms as well. Solid viewership programming, and I don't mean Selling, Selling, Selling, either, is a must and should be included with future cruises. Great tip/reminder on feet wear. And yes, there are a great number of folks on the OASIS CLASS. Glad that you enjoyed most of your cruise. Try a smaller line and smooth sailing ;-D
