Fantastic southern Caribbean stops.  Standard - mid level - Royal Caribbean cruise (very nice!)

Our favorite of four RC cruises this past year.  This one is not to be missed.

Arrival & departure procedures need to be improved. They should check with Carnival

Dining room service staff were excellent.

Found photo & beverage options too expensive.

Some shore excursions were not up to standard.

Nice Cruise by smhall82

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

For all of the beautiful stops included in this cruise, it was definitely a great deal. I've cruised with RCI before, so my expectations for this cruise were pretty high since RCI is such a phenomenal company.  My expectations were mostly met across the board. The ship is an older boat but still provides the relaxing experience that one is seeking!  The staff was great. My only complaint is not being fluent in two languages since the port of call is San Juan, Puerto Rico; but that's my own issue. :)  This cruise is definitely worth the money, time and fun! :)  I'm very happy my new husband and I selected it for our honeymoon!  Happy

Southern Caribbean Cruse by ramos82851

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Targeted destination ports of call (Aruba & curazao) were canceled due to ships engine failure. Multiple attempts to repair the ship on its return back to San Juan, PR were fruitless. The ship was late making it back to San Juan, PR causing additional flight cancellations for many passengers. This was our third cruise with Royal Caribbean.

A dream that never be true, because the ship was broked and the Captain changed the route. by cpm52

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

When we are at St. Kitts, the Captain annouced that he have to changed the route, one of the "propelas" of the ship have to make repairs and the capacity of the ship to have pore power in the velocity, decides don't go to Aruba and Curazao.  I don't know if that desicion could be the corrected, because he has the preparation and experience and me no, but my husband works a lot and we planned to go again to Aruba and the pleasured for the 1st time to Curazao. We have a screnning with others passengers and they dissapointed with the desicion maked for the Captain. This was the 2nd time that we sailed at the Adv ot the Seas, that we sailed on Dec. 2012.  We also lived the experience in 2009 at the Enchatment of the Seas ,taked at Fort Lauderdale.  The service and the employes were excellent, the facilities of the gym and the spa, satisfays our expectatives, the food in the Wyndyamere was very good.  Always the problem in the casino was the people that smoked don't respect the others that not smoked. Also, when the Captain offers a message to the passengers, one a half hour, someone maked the translation in Spanish, and that brings innestability and doubts in the people.  Could be, that message when the Captain finished, then comes the translation?  The tv in the cabin was obsolated and the movies are oldest, we recomended changes in the programations.   Sincerely, again if any person asked me if we repeat another vogage at the Adv of the Seas, our respons was NO, NO, thanks, but NO, thanks,  The feelings of the people of Puerto Rico that were in that cruise, (1,800 passengers) and for other countries (1,700 passengers), were 75% similars and this company Royal Caribbean International have the responsability to respond and brings ears to that reclaimed.  Excuse our expressions in a language, that could be was not correctly writed.  You can contact us in our celulars phones (787) 640-9815,Mrs, Perez or (787) 944-3006, Mr. Medina.  Thanks for this opportunity to express our feelings and again, excused if we offended anyone.  We are gold members and we are proud of that recognition.  We appreciate the reactions of this review from you also.

Disappointed by anna10475

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We did not reach the destinations scheduled on our itinerary due to malfunction with the cruise ship.  We do realize things like this can happen, however, the cruise line made no attempt to offer a compensation package towards a future cruise.  In our opinion, that is poor business.  Additionally, we missed our return direct flight home, having to reschedule for a later non-direct flight which then put a burden on our family.  We have been on several cruises with other cruise lines and this was our first with Royal, and it will be our last.

My adventures by Thebigcruisers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

I was very surprised that I had so many people that worked on this ship that had an attitude. The people in the Windjammer, the waiters and waitresses were very snotty. The man in the store that sold cigareets was very nasty to me. I have never had anyone be like that and I have taken 15 cruises with you all.

Excellent food. Great Dining Room. Friendly staff. Stateroom was nice.

Negatives: Still too much second hand smoke, especially in the casino and around the pool areas.

Did not have pool towels for most of the cruise. Always heard that the washer/dryer couldn't keep up!

adventure of the seas by rnhigg2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall the ship was a very pleasant experience. It was lacking in daily activities that abounded on Brillance and Oasis of the Seas. Staff was extremely attentive especially our room attendan Karen and the Main Dining Room Maitre D --Pilar and our waiters Chandan and co. on table 460. Evening entertainment was not as wonderful as Oasis (which is in a class by itself) but all public meeting places lounges and casino had very attentive staff.

Our major drawback was Royal Carib travel agency which guranteed they would get us there for our flight from Myrtle Beach to San Juan, Us Air cancelled our 1st flight so consequently we were stuck in our airport for 5 hrs running between Choice Air on the cell phone and the US Air Desk to try and get help. Mind you we dialed Choice Airs emergency phone # and they couldnt give a rats butt about what we were going thru. NO CUSTOMER SAVVY AT ALL DOWNRIGHT RUDE! At 5PM we r now home trying to get on a flight for Mon. Still Choice Air had no resolution. THANK GOD for a wonderful US Air Mgr who pulled every string she could to fly us to Barados the first port for the cruise on Tues.

I was on this ship a few years ago. I'm not sure what has happened since my last experience, but Royal Caribbean has really dropped the ball since the last time I was on this ship ! They have changed their policy for checking out beach towels which caused everyone on board problems getting a towel ....some days NOT getting a clean towel AT ALL !!!! The ship had a foul septic odor in the passageways, just a bad experience altogether. We will be finding another cruise line next time....really a disapointing ship...... They BETTER FIX IT !!!!

Very pretty ship. The layout of the ship was easier to navigate than other cruise lines I gave been on.Food could definately be improved upon in the afternoon in the wWindjammer. Not much variety. Pillows and matresses definitely need upgrading. Have tried other cruise lines and liked their dining room menu better. They need to change the way they lend out pool towels. Spent two afternoons without towels as they had run out of clean ones.

Good Cruise Value by saspanishdancer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my third cruise on Adventure of the Seas.  She is in good shape but needs a little refurbishing, but very clean.  We enjoyed the entertainment especially the varied music at the different bars. However, the dining room service and food need to be addressed. While the food was good the variety was poor and the service sooo slow.  This was due to the noticeable cuts in staff.  Bar service was bad in the dining room. Linens in the cabins were old and dingy. However the four port excursions we booked thru the ship were great. We enjoyed dinnners at the Windjammer as it is really different at night. All in all a good cruise for the money.  We enjoyed our balconey room and the whole experience.

Disappointed by Lwilson01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We've cruised with Carnival, Holland America, and now Royal Caribbean. We were completely disappointed in the food most of all with RC. It was mediocre (at best) and that is a lot of what you pay for/want in a cruise, there was also a big lack of variety. The ship was old and outdated, our room shook all night long, and we woke up to hammering and the smell of paint everyday. Wish I could get my money back...the only saving grace to the trip was the itinerary and the awesome people that we met.

Awesome & Relaxing Cruise by awesomecruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Love My husband, Eugene and I throughly enjoyed our cabin, dining, tours, show performances, and food. Staff was nice, and available. We enjoyed the Southern Caribbean Cruise for seven days. We liked all of our ports of calls St.Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, and Curacao. Tour guides were patient, and very imformative. This was one of our best cruises! We liked dressing up for "Captain's Night" even though we didn't take a picture with him.  We would even consider doing this cruise again

Just came back from cruising on adventure of the seas and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The ship is in a great shape( except for the TV sets in the staterooms). Cleanliness is paramount and the staff did not disappoint.  The size of the ship is perfect ( not too big and not small). The shows were very good quality. I would definitely go on it again

The service at dinner was just excelent.  Veldeen Toranty, Michael Chin, Rodolfo Pacheco and Ibrahim were perfect.  The ladies at the entrance were all very nice.  The only service that wasn't great was at the pool bar.

Did not realize this cruise would have such a spanish influence.  I also did not thoroughly review the cruise. I really enjoy the specialty restaurants and they only had one. Many people did not speak English.

Great Cruise. Worth the money. by marino

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Adventure of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I have Cruise with Royal Caribbean before and it is always a pleasure to go back.  Ship was clean and no issues.  Most of the employee were polite, friendly and helpful.  Shore excursions were great, but some were much better than others.  I will cruise with them again.
