Review summary

Extremely disappointed in the lack of reimbursement or sympathy over a vacation that turned out to be half of what it should have been. We missed 2 out of 4 ports. This is the only vacation we get to take all year.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Awful, delayed and then they changed the time to less delayed again.

Service and main dining was amazing. Buffet is a standard buffet.

Multiple pools were closed for most of the trip. Also needs entertainment for any that isn’t a child or elderly.

CABO ROJO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

2 out of 5
We were the first ever Royal Caribbean ship to this port…. It was a sh*t show. Had to flag a waiter down to order, waited over an hour to get food, wrong order, had to practically beg them to pay and then receipt had items on it that we never received.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
I love this port but we couldn’t dock because of waves.

If you read your Cruise Contract when the ticket was issued, you would have found that it explicitly states that the itinerary can be changed for any reason. If you choose to cruise during Hurricane Season (which is what we're in now), that's a risk you take. It shouldn't have come as a surprise to you, given the fact that they were keeping you safe. Next time, read the Cruise Contract and don't cruise during Hurricane Season.

If you read your cruise contract, it says they can change the ports at will and aren't required to compensate you at all. I'm sorry you were disappointed, but if you're not okay with the terms of the contract, maybe cruising isn't for you.

Sounds like folks should skip Cabo Rojo. Bummer about the weather. At least they kept you safe.

You can choose bed arrangement to a queen instead of 2 twins. Royal and likely all cruise lines do the best they can. Safety is their biggest concern for thousands of passengers. Hurricane season doesn’t end until the end of October so you take that risk if you go earlier.

Itinerary can be changed without notice. It is the cruise line’s choice if they wish to issue OBC (on board credit). Is it possible you received OBC for your missed ports and you did not notice it on your account?
