It seems that Royal is very lax with the ships upkeep and the cabin stewards seem to be over worked.

Buffet seemed to be the same every night. $60+ plus a gratuity is not worth it for the specialty dining. I remember the time when the charge was much more reasonable and it was considered the gratuity.

Cabin steward was so-so. Once a day, would have preferred the evening, but insisted on morning. Waitstaff was attentive.

Ship needs a good cleaning and painting. Cabin was not clean enough.

Both of us had to crawl out of bed, not enough room on the side to navigate. Steward never cleaned the night stands, ever! Was dirty before arrival and stayed that way.
Ship tip
Try to find if it a themed cruise. Ours was a "Buddy Cruise". Loads of special needs children. They were very respectful but couldn't get near the pools.
