Review summary

For the most part, the cruise was as expected. We are diamond cruisers and our relatively close to be dirt coming diamond plus . We currently have 168 points. However, we have always been able to go to the diamond lounge anytime we wanted. When this cruise, which was a board adventure of the seas we were banned from going to the diamond lounge from 4:00 to 7:30 PM because there were so many diamond diamond plus and pinnacle members. We have sailed on smaller ships, one being the Panama Canal cruise in October board Radiance of the Sea. The same overcrowding situation occurred but somehow they were able to find a private room for the pinnacle members so Dan diamond plus members were allowed into the lounge at all times. We have been cruising for a long time and feel totally disrespected because of our banishment from the diamond lounge of adventure of the seas, we felt like second-class citizens as diamond members. When I suggested even smaller ships have found space for pinnacle members. The staff did not seem very interested in making such an arrangement.

We just made Diamond Plus and were also on the same cruise. I went into the diamond lounge a few times after 4 pm and didn't even need my card as the door always seemed to be unlocked if you just pushed it open. Once inside, no one asked to see my card. Personally, I did not stay long as I enjoyed being right outside the lounge in the crows nest. The lounge is small and overrated anyway. Diamond Plus has lost ammenities as well. I do agree that Diamond should be allowed in the lounge or they should close off the Crows Nest for overflow as they have done in the past, during those hours.

Although I get what you are saying regarding the Diamond lounge, there are plenty of other places to grab a drink or hang out between those hours. We will hit Diamond on our next cruise and if I can’t get into the Diamond lounge for a few hours once we are I honestly don’t see that as a big deal to me. Honestly we’ve met too many “snooty” people based on their C&A status. I’m good with the commoners lol

Your experience explains a lot for our recent RCCL experience... As we are diamond RCCL because of status on Celebrity and on our recent RCCL cruise we were excluded from a gathering... Never thought about capacity cap... Just went on to other things. Thanks for sharing your detailed review.

Sorry you were disappointed with your cruise.

Welcome to the real world. If you didn't notice, the Diamond lounge is now the Crown lounge, so it's only time before all ships remove diamond members between 4:30 and 7. Diamond plus members have already been eliminated from the concierge louges. If you're not happy, change cruise lines, but your whining won't change anything. They're running a business. Would you be happy if they went out of business and your status became worthless.

Bottom line seem to take over Loyalty in the cruise business...

Thanks for sharing. It seems to be more and more common for corporations to do anything to acquire new customers. Then, after the customers prove their loyalty over years and years of buying their products, treat them like garbage.
