There is no such thing as perfection. This cruise was high quality, relaxing and fun. Get ready to put on a little weight.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
The new Royal Caribbean terminal is amazing and was shocked at how fast we boarded be sure to book parking early to get a good spot. We had indoor parking which turned out great because it was raining both days in Galveston.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Our first night in the main dining room our food was not great but it got better on day two and through then end of the cruise. The windjammer buffet was all was good and on point.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Always a lot of variety and things to do.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I’m picky when it comes to entertainment (retired theatre professor) but the entertainment was amazing especially the main production company of singers and dancers, they rivaled anyone I’ve seen on Broadway!
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
Nobody in my party had children but I noticed there was lots of things to do for the kids.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff member from housekeeping to wait staff were super friendly and always went the extra mile to make me and my travel buddies happy!
I was insulted at the next cruise desk by only being offered a $100 savings on a seven day cruise in a balcony cabin. you can find better deals off the ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The layout and design was the best I have ever seen, love the promenade mall atmosphere on deck five.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The size was good for two full size men. It was clean and well taken care of. The beds were hard as a rock, great if you like a firm bed but if not ask for a mattress pad. When it comes to power outlets, bad design, no outlet buy or between beds. Ask for an extension cord or bring one from home along with a power strip.
Shower was plenty bed with lots of hot water.
Ship tip
Bring an extension cord and power strip for your stateroom and leave your infants with Grandparents, they’ll love it and so will all the passengers that are not trapped onboard with lots of crying babies.
Do not shop in the shopping are just of the ship the prices are super high. Small bottle of suntan lotion was $25. A small bottle of tequila was $200 I got it for $65 outside of the tourist trap shopping area. Taking eight dollar taxis down to the downtown area lots of great restaurants with great views and reasonable shopping prices. We did not take an excursion.
We took our bags off with us, they called too many people down at a time and the lines were very long along with the wait, while standing up. Once the line started moving it was very fast and easy.
