Review summary

Overall, this was a great cruise. The staff were excellent. My only disappointment was in the food. This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise. I don't know if the food is normally like this or if it was because there were so few passengers due to covid and maybe some cost cuts were made. The food wasn't bad by any means but wasn't outstanding like I've had on other cruise lines. For example, in the dining room for dinner one night I opted for chicken cordon bleu which was good but obviously a frozen product. But the vegetables served with it was frozen peas and carrots. Meh, at best. The service on the other hand was above and beyond. One morning I ordered Eggs Benedict and the eggs were under cooked to my liking. My fault, when I ordered, I didn't specify. The waiter must have been watching me and within seconds was at my side offering another cooked a little more. Ordinarily, I would not have sent it back. I would have just eaten what I could and not complained but he could see that I didn't like it and offered another. That really impressed me. I wish I could remember his name!

Food and Dining

I was a bit disappointed in the food. Although not terrible, it certainly wasn't outstanding. This is strictly a reflection of the food. The service from the staff was impeccable.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Unfortunately on the way to the cruise, I hurt my foot and was unable to do any of the activities. I would love to have tried the wave pool and the slide but didn't because of my foot. The pools were great, though.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to two shows, the COOL ART HOT ICE and IMPACT. Both were excellent performances.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

Can't say enough good things about the staff. They were so friendly. Truly made us feel that we weren't just another number but truly important passengers. The airlines (and other businesses) should have to take lessons from the cruise industry!

Ship Quality

Nothing was out of place.

Cabin / Stateroom

When the cruise was booked, I requested the room have two beds because I was traveling with my brother. It was a single bed. However, the room steward took care of it immediately. The room steward took very good care of us.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We stayed the night prior and post cruise. Didn't really get to see much of Nassau.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

We did not do a shore excursion. Perhaps if we had, we would have seen more and enjoyed it. As it was, there was a small shopping area right there at the ship. Each person who had a little shop wanted our business but none were pushy.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Loved the Oasis pool. Did not do an excursion. Thought the price was awfully high. Also, I had an injured foot and might not have been able to do the slides anyway.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
This was my 4th visit to Cozumel. We did not do a shore excursion through the ship but rented a scooter once there. We rode around the entire island and really enjoyed that. We also did a guided tour of San Gervasio Mayan ruins. That was very good. Again, this we did on our own not through the cruise ship.
