Not the best family cruise.
Let me preface the above review by stating my wife and I have cruised dozens of times on many different cruise lines. This was a family vacation cruise for 8 of us. I do not recommend this ship.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was excellent and fast, we were on board the ship within 30 minutes of arrival at the port.

Food and Dining

We struggled to get a table for 8, so our family could all dine together. Arriving at our table on time, our reservations were totally screwed up and we were almost unable to sit together. The waiter screwed up several orders and the food was not very good. The next night we were moved to a very nice table with a new waiter. Our new waiter messed up our orders almost every night, especially the last formal night, when he screwed up half our orders. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and assumed they were very under staffed.
We all agreed to totally avoid the dining room and attend the buffet. Because of a state-room survey the dining room discovered our displeasure and had the head maitre d' treat us to a fabulous steak dinner. He repeatedly stated that, if we don't complain, they will never know and will be unable to correct their mistakes. It's not in my personality to complain, I generally take my business elsewhere.

Ship Quality

Some of the public men's bathrooms were a single toilet, very strange.
We were on the Adventure last month on the same itinerary and loved it. We had Early dining and had no issues with the food or the service, but have you used My Time dining in the past without issue as well. It seems that most restaurants including those on and off of Cruise Ships have issues with seating parties of more than four people together. As far as debarkation, it was the fastest we’ve ever done. We always do self debarkation and take our own luggage. We left our cabin at 6:30 AM and we’re at the airport at 7 AM.
Sounds like you tried to do "my time dining" with a large (more than 4) group. If you had done traditional dining with an 8 top, I doubt you would have had that issue.
Interesting. I loved Adventure of the Seas. We had 11 in our party. No issues at MDR. By end of the trip our dinner waiters were bringing my kids fruits and milks, without asking, at breakfast in Windjammer.
