This was a great cruise. I totally enjoyed sailing for 8 nights - it was just the right amount of time. I am sorry it is over and will need to work on booking another one. I would highly recommend the ship and this itinerary. NJ - Bermuda - Bahamas - Coco Cay - It was a special cruise that will be long remembered.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Left from Bayonne, NJ - arrived at the dock at 10:30 and we were on the boat by 11 - very smooth.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We had the drink package and I highly recommend it. People who don't have it are quite shocked when they get their bill on the final night. It can be used for specialty coffees and wines as well!!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
As is my usual complaint about pools and cruise ships - the pools are very small allowing for tons of lounge chairs - but they are usually all taken by 11 AM and they are so close to each other making it difficult and at times unsafe to move around.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to every show and one was better than the next. Enjoyed each and every one of them.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone we came in contact with was very pleasant, very engaging and very helpful. A nice group of staff.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
I thought the layout of the ship was easy to navigate once you learned the locations of everything. The ship shows a little wear and tear and believe the crew is trying to address them as the ship sails.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The room was nice but very small. I have cruised many times and believe this is the smallest balcony room I have ever had. The balcony was very small as well.
Ship tip
Explore the ship from top to bottom. Check out the helipad - you can get the best views pulling in and out of ports - it is fantastic. It is on deck 5 and accessible only via deck 4 via a staircase in front of deck 4.
I like Bermuda very much - we did not opt to do any excursions as I have been there many times. Instead we walked around Hamilton but was disappointed that many of the stores did not open until after 1 as it was a Sunday.
I realize this has to be one of the ports of call - but I don't understand how this city works - to hit us all up with these people wanting to sell you stuff and begging for your business - is not what I call a vacation spot. Shame on the Nassau government for not utilizing properly the monies they get from cruise ships and passengers. This place is a disgrace. Couldn't wait to get back on the ship!!
Ah Coco Cay - I thought it was very nice - I booked a cabana and thoroughly enjoyed it. However, it was much too hot to really walk around and enjoy the whole place. They must put in misted fans and places that have AC. It would make it more conducive to walk and explore. I guess it is still a work in progress - but it can get so hot - the water was like bath water!!
