Review summary

Great time. This was a 8 day and a little too long. Already booked a 5 day cruise in this ship to Bermuda for 2020. I wish the 5 day was going to Coco Cay!!! Need to evaluate Smoking sections, plenty of room on upper decks they can make a small sections for smokers to give them lounge chairs and some table and chairs to sit and have a nice cigar and drink in a nice quiet setting without the loudness of the pool area. When we spoke to people I felt like I had to yell my entire conversation. And they play the movies in that area at night, not a good mix. Cafe Promenade, they can do much better, constant lines, pizza, sandwich, desert, and lines. The setup of the ship is great as you never felt like you had a long walk to any venue.

Food and Dining

The MDR, my time dining was good. We actually found taking an early reservation every other night for in our schedule. Wait time when we did not have a reservation was under 5 min at prime time, 6:30-7 pm. And we were seated in the MDR not at the table for 2 in isolated spots. We meet lots of people during diner and breakfast. And MDR was great for a nice relaxing lunch. Selection for diner menu could have had more options or rotation of items. We did not eat in specialty dining. Buffet was good, fresh and varied selection. Cafe Promenade is just a mystery to me, long lines for someone to give u pizza or a sandwich that is never available, you need better late night food options. And the Starbucks, lines, lines, lines. RC needs to step up their game. Very noisy cafeteria like seating available, if u can get a seat. Not an appealing area to have a relaxing cup of coffee and snack. They should actually look at sister ship Celebrity Summit for their coffee bar, set up.

Main Dining Room

My time dining. Party of 2 easy to sit in the dining room and not at a table against the waiters work station. Menu could use a few more selections. Excellent for lunch and breakfast. If u don’t see what you want ask!

Schooner Bar

Awesome, nice mix of bar staff. Shout out to David. Great selection of drinks and peopleHowever, Royal needs to get a bit more entertainment in there. Raul the piano singer is good and engages the crowd, but how many times can u hear Piano Man, lol. The Guitar player, well he was good but was not the right vibe. Stop here, convenient on deck 4

Awesome, everyone pleasant and helpful Big shout out to David in the Schooner Bar, Robert our waiter at the Pool and Benny our room attendant. Such Exceptional service that we paid the gratuities per day and tipped extra, that’s how good the service was.

Ship Quality

I very much like the set up of this ship. Easy to navigate. Never once felt like it was a journey to go anywhere on the ship. Lots of chairs on the sun decks, OMG around pool was always crowded and that’s the normal on all the ships, but upper deck u had lots of seating. Smoking areas need to be improved. They do not give smokers an area with lounge chairs, and they easily can. Smokers are on vacation too, many smokers have partners that don’t smoke and would like to Sit with them. Some smokers want to enjoy a scotch or brandy and a nice cigar, and this ship does not provide that atmosphere. You can smoke cigars and pipes in all smoking areas. Not very comfortable seating in smoking sections. Always clean, very impressed on the constant upkeep. Smoking section limited to 8 tables on Pool deck with 25 extra chairs. Deck 4 Port side has a small smoking section, 10 of the most uncomfortable chairs. People old, young, skinny, heavy had a hard time getting out of the chairs. Not friendly on your knees.

Room 7206. Great window room front of ship. Extra spacious, but there is a support column next to bed that blocks tv a bit. I luved the room as it has a lot more walking area and odd size so it is not cramped and rectangle. Bed was great, air was cold, everything worked in the room. I was surprised no in room coffee pot.

Ship tip

Lots of lounge chairs on upper deck for crowded sea days. If u don’t take internet package, while in port on ship you can pick up local carrier to use your phone.

Amazing. Clean, safe and convenient Dock Side shops, restaurants. Easy access to cabs, mini buses, tours. Friendly people always willing to help you. Beaches clean with chair and umbrella vendors ($45), clean bathrooms and food if you want. No one will walk up to you and try and sell u anything. U feel safe leaving your stuff on the beach, while u walk and go in water.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

The WOW factor! Royal Caribbean you out did yourself. Beautiful, clean, ample seating on all areas. Friendly reasonably priced vendors. Plenty of waiters. Food area was clean, plenty of food and food choices, no lines, lots of seating. Different areas with different foods and each area had lots of seating. Even soft serve ice cream machine!! We did not do the water parks but everyone we spoke to said they were great. I wish we would have walked a bit more and checked out all the bars and restaurants. Very well equipped with life guards in all areas. Smoking sections were not friendly an umbrella on a plastic bench in the sun. They can easily take a small section of lounge chairs in the back of each section and give smokers some comfortable lounges with ash trays. The seating, the amount of lounge chairs in each area was great. Easily handle 2 ships with extra seating available in each area. Lounge chairs with umbrellas are provided for all areas. Swim up bars in pool and on beach. Entertainment all day. No tendering. Walk off walk on. OMG WOW factor.
