Ports of call

Bar Harbor, Maine

3 out of 5
Out of the three ports, this was my least favorite. Personally, I don’t like the feeling of the small, mom and pop city, but others may. Our excursion, on the other hand, was on “Oli’s Trolley” and it was a 10/10 experience. We went through Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbor, and the tour was excellent! Stunning views, but there are typically a lot of tourists. Outside of that, if you don’t have Verizon, you will be struggling to post images on Facebook/Instagram, as the coverage is absolutely terrible and there aren’t any places that offer free WiFi.

Saint John, New Brunswick

4 out of 5
This was my second favorite port out of the three, but normally, you don’t spend a lot of time in Saint John due to the early boarding time. Fortunately enough, we spent six hours in Saint John on a private tour around the city and a neighboring township called Saint Martin, where you can actually walk on the ocean floor while the tide is out! It was very interesting to experience this Canadian city, although it’s just a bit bigger than Bar Harbor. The people were friendly, the food was delicious, and the views were fantastic!

Halifax, Nova Scotia

5 out of 5
Halifax was by far my favorite port! My family and I took the “Hop On, Hop Off” bus around the city, and it was the best decision that we had ever made! We got to see the Maritime Museum (which has a lot of info on the Titanic btw), the Public Gardens, the Titanic Cemetery, and a lot more! We even stopped at Tim Horton’s to grab a quick bite (something that we don’t have in NC) while we were shopping at one of the stops off the bus. Altogether, this port deserves 5 stars, and Halifax was a great city to visit!
