If you have a child, get a big balcony or suite. Spend the $. I’ll never do an inside?oceanview again with the baby. Yeah, you fit but man, it’s tight. Royal has two family channels for kids. Dora and Blue’s clues cane in handy a few times. Big boat, lots of folks and there were times we struggled to find a spot by the pool. Lines to get into places, seat hunting in the windjammer wasn’t easy on a few occasions. But...BUT...I had a great time. There’s lots to do on the boat. Slides were sick. Surfing, mini golf, arcade, movies at night on the big screen, live shows in the promenade, lyric theater and studio B...all good stuff. Johnny Rockets burger and shake, sit in the booth and just enjoy the ocean, the view and the fact that you’re doing an all American thing in the Caribbean or Bahamas, surrounded by crystal blue waters....wow....grabbing food from the windjammer and sitting outside at tables makes for a nice meal. Great spots to dine in on the boat. Duck and dog for karaoke, promenade for a parade, good bands and music everywhere. I’ll be on this boat again.
Embarkation

We were on the boat pretty quick. Check in time and getting on board was 15 mins, including metal detectors and bags being scanned.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining food was great during the lunch buffets. The evening entrees were good, I’m not putting them alongside good restaurants but, they were good. Windjammer was good to great for a buffet, the great was the seafood stew and oxtail stews. Everything else was good.. Big ship, more people, hectic seating in the buffet. Windjammer scrambled eggs are terrible, but they do make fresh eggs for you and omlettes. Bacon was solid, sausages are good, plenty of pastries, breads and stuff. Our 2 year old had plenty of oatmeal with raisins, cereals and stuff each morning. They offer children’s menus in main dining but, we grabbed regular dishes for her. Anything we asked for to satisfy her, they provided.(I have one of the few 2 YOs on Earth who eats veggies like crazy)
Onboard Activities

Lots of fun trivia!
Entertainment

Step down from off broadway type stuff but man, they put on a few really great shows. Hard working performers and fun shows. Ice show was pretty awesome. A special Motown show closed the week out, great experience.
Children's Programs

I have a two year old and the water/play area for her was small. There’s definitely not a lot to do for a toddler but,3 days on islands and in Disnay were perfect to balance the week out.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was incredible. Rosita handled our room and was so kind to our daughter. Rosario was our waiter in main dining, great guy.
Ship Quality

They were working on elevators so, two aft elevators were out. That was a killer at some points of the trip.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Needs work. Shower is as big as a transporter on Star Trek. Tight room. A/C could be stronger. Cool view of promenade but,a view into all promenade rooms too so...you see everything, so do they! Keep them curtains closed! Good view for shows they put on in the promenade!
Ship tip
Get your seats around the pool early! Grab some unique towel clips and mark your territory, it can get nutty.
I love coco Cay. I’m excited for its future but, I did love the quiet of that island on previous trips. 3000 folks on that island is a lot. Walk through to the other side for more quiet and chill.
First time there. I look forward to returning and giving this spot more attention. The hustle dudes put on as you get off the boat is annoying. The straw market is an experience one doesn’t need. You can buy the same stuff from less aggressive folks on Coco Cay. Shopping in regulas]r shops was nice. Pirate museum was cool. Smugglers restaurant has good food, great conch salad with the chef’s special hot sauce...excellent.
