This cruise was fantastic. I've been to St. Martens in the past, so I was glad (although sorry about the hurricane damage) Martinique was substituted. It is a beautiful island and not as commercialized as St. Martin.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Royal Caribbean met us at the airport, loaded our bags in a truck, and drove us in a bus to the port for check-in and id cards. It went very smooth.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I was a bit disappointed with the food. Breakfast was not very good in the main dining room. We did not try the buffet. Dinner in the main dining room was very nice. The room was very pretty and the wait staff was excellent. The food was good, but not as good as I have had on other cruise lines. And some of the portions were small. But overall dinner was a very nice experience.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There is no way to get bored on this ship. There is always something going on and things to see or stroll the mall.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
All the entertainment was fantastic!
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
This staff was by far the friendliest I have encountered on a cruise. Almost like family. I even hugged a couple of them when disembarking the ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Wow! This is a huge, but beautiful ship. Every inch of this ship is as clean as can be. And so many things to do, no matter whether you are an adult, teen, or child.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
I am only giving this a 3 because of the problem with our original cabin. It has a sewage smell to it due to a leak under the floor that was soaking wet on the side of the bed. Making things worse, my wife has a lung disease, so hopefully this doesn't send her back to the hospital. We told our cabin attendant, but it took 3 days and us going to Guest Services to finally get a room change. Guest Services handled it quickly and our second room was perfect. But! The attendant should have reported this room prior to putting us or any other guest in it. Evidently, he did not want to give up his tip in exchange for our safety.
Ship tip
This is a wonderful ship. Book it if you get the chance.
Beautiful island. We again took a scenic tour through the rain forest driving near the volcano and into the quaint town of St. Pierre which was wiped out in 1905 by the volcano. Both my wife and I said we wouldn't mind living there.
We were told by several people and our room attendant that this island is even prettier than Martinique. We took the cruise to the Pitons tour, so only saw the island from the coast. It was a fun tour and very pretty coastline. But I would like to go back and experience this island inland.
We went on the Gay Rum tour. It was fun, but we didn't get to see much of the island. What we did see, it seemed to have the prettiest beaches and water color over all the other islands. Once again, I would like to go back.
