Review summary

We didn't visit any ports on our original itinerary due to hurricane Marie. We visited St. Croix, Aruba and Bonaire instead and were a day late getting back to port. Our "return" port had to be changed from San Juan to Ft. Lauderdale. I must say a HUGE thank you to Captain Tomas and his crew for keeping everyone informed and making our cruise the best it could be under the circumstances. They were great! And, thank you for all the humanitarian efforts to those areas affected! We never felt like we were in any danger at all and they did their best to make our journey memorable (in good ways). Just some of the reasons we always cruise with Royal Caribbean.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Service in the main dining room was great. The food was fine. The food in the Windjammer was typical Windjammer food but was okay.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Spent lots of time in the Schooner Bar playing trivia. Loved the entertainment in the bar as well, especially the pianist, Chester. He was AMAZING!!!

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Ice Show was very good; other entertainment was not good at all in comparison to other ships we've been on.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward was very good and friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The layout is very similar to the Freedom. Common areas okay.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
First time on Adventure of the Seas. Typical balcony room on an older ship. Needs some work. Lots of rust including the bathroom. Didn't like the balcony because it did not have the Plexiglas so we couldn't see the water. It was solid. And, the balconies could not be joined between two cabins unlike what was told me by the person on the phone that reserved the cabin for us.

Ship tip

See the Ice Show.

Ports of call

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Seemed to be very disorganized. Not directed very well. Very crowded area for self-carry.
