Review summary

All in all, we had a nice "couples get-a-way"........... Nightlife on the boat had something for everyone........... We met several new friends, who we will continue to keep in touch with. Be sure to book an excursion at each and every port of call......unless you like to shop for jewelry.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very organized and efficient

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We dined at the main dining room every night....staff was exceptionally attentive, friendly & made the trip that much better. The food was good, but too much butter, and cream sauces were used on many dishes. Sometimes a good fish, is a good fish, and a good steak, is a good steak !

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pool areas were fun, and offered several choices (band, quiet, adult only, etc)...Spa center was great, but always tried to sell you some additional items.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Headliner shows were great........the "ship staff" singers & dancers were just OK, but entertaining.....we did not expect broadway shows anyway ! Musicians were very talented, from the house band, down to the piano bar !

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
ALL staff of the vessel could not have been more accommodating and friendly.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
You could tell it was an older ship, but very clean & well maintained. Some musty smells in the hallways, but remember, it's a boat !!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect in every way........not too small, not too large & plenty of storage area. Maintained by our cabin steward AAA+++, with personal touches each night !

Ship tip

We haven't been on a cruise for over 20 years, so I do not know if this is the norm or not....BUT....at each port of call you were immediately in the middle of a shopping center. Shop owners were there to sell, and you felt like you were a target.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

3 out of 5
We flew in from NY, and did not have much time on our arrival day. It rained on our departure day, so we did not see anything other than the airport, highway, then port.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Lots of jewelry stores...we did not do an excursion, but wished we did.

Willemstad, Curacao

3 out of 5
Snorkel excursion at small private beach...........just ok, nothing special.

Oranjestad, Aruba

3 out of 5
Unless you want to buy jewelry, skip downtown, and head directly to one of the big resort hotels and stay there for the day (it's worth the extra $$), or book an excursion.........very little sight seeing , and pretty poor area south of the port of call. I heard the deep sea diving was good, but it's not our thing.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

3 out of 5
Did not see the island much, as we did an excursion on a catamaran (booze & lunch & beach) to the next island (Nieves)....had a blast !

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
A bit confusing finding the surrey to the airport, but all else was smooth.
