Review summary

I would recommend this cruise for families and people of all ages! It had a lot of fun to offer for everyone! The service was exceptional & sccomodations were very nice! My kids (8 & 14) LOVED the Rock climbing wall, the flow rider & the mini golf on the ship. The ports & excursions were great. We want to book again!

Our planned excursion was canceled, and that was disappointing. We found another excursion, but we had to spend more money to do it since there were not many excursion options available with openings. It was a great excursion, but it was much more money than we initially intended to spend.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

As I posted earlier, we really find the walkie talkie the easiest solution, we also don't travel with any children, so we are respectful of people around us. Just a quick little, " hey where r u", not a whole conversation, lol. As far as the brand, I'm not really sure. They are ones that my husband uses for hunting with his friends. But , I'm sure most brands would be fine. Happy cruising!

Still looking but it sounds like it's hit or miss with 2-ways. I'll post if I find anything else

Yes I'd like to know any good 2 way radios that work as well. We have a group of 16!

I'm looking into it. If or when I find a reliable answer, I'll post it here for you. Emailed my agent as well as Royal. I apologize for being a tad snappy in my comments. I've seen so many ppl complaining about children on the ship as well as walkie talkies. I had enough! We were all children at one point. If I'm paying for my children to be on vacation, they have every right to "be children". There are adult only cruises and adult only areas on family cruises. I didn't appreciate the only person "reminding" me how to parent my children. - finished.

Well if anyone has any constructive advice please share. I am going with a large group too. Complaining will get us no where fast. We're looking for solutions, not negativity and complaints!

I'm not saying don't use them, i'm only suggesting be mindful of others. Turn the volume down, wear an earpiece. If your children are endlessly jabbering at each other over two way ask them to use it sparingly or only when required. If you go to a movie theater do you put your phone on silent or do you let it ring and answer it in speaker phone mode?

I understand! May I ask then if you have any suggestion for communication while on board? We are traveling with a large group and would like to stay connected. Does Adventure still offer the Dect phones? I've seen that using their wifi on board works as well, any experience with that?

I like to listen to the music on the Lido deck. I don't blare my own music out of respect for others. I shouldn't have to wear ear plugs in a public area to avoid BEEP!..MOM! MOM! MOM! every 15 seconds on speaker at full volume. This is why airlines don't allow phone calls during flight. The technically now allows it but no one wants to listen to anyone's 2 hour conversation the whole flight.

Respectfully, I understand your concern... as I've seen this same comment on every post asking about communicating with children while on board. While on a ship with over 3000 quests and 1000 crew... I'm sure everyone has annoyed someone at some point. May I suggest ear plugs in your pool bag? Enjoying a vacation, the same vacation we all pay for, also means tolerating other ppl's behavior. I've moved locations numerous times due to drunk adults, topless tanners, rude ppl, and yes loud children. I'm sorry that one hr of your trip was annoying to you, hopefully you were able to salvage the rest of your vacation!

If you are going to give your kids two way radios please be mindful of others where ever you are. Have been lying out on pool deck and people next to us had their two way radios beeping every minute and their kids voices at full volume as their kids played with their cool new toy walkie talkies. So annoying listening to that for an hour.

Great! Thanks! Any suggestions for a brand that works well? My kids are 12 and 15 and I'd rather not deal with cell phones and texting. I'd like them to be able to run around but still want to be in contact with them. Really appreciate your help!

Two way radios come in soooo handy, absolutely! So much easier than wandering around looking for your friends or spouse

slugger77    7 years ago

How did you stay in touch with them while on board? Cell/text/2-way's? Thx! We cruise in December!

Cruise ships are so much fun. Especially for cruisers with the proper attitude like yours. Glad you had such a positive experience.
