Review summary

I traveled with my husband and 2 sons, ages 5 and 13, as well as my sister and her family and our parents. My 13-yr-old enjoyed himself more than anyone. He would stay at the teen's club from morning until 11:30 or midnight. I had to force him to come to dinner with us or to venture off of the ship. The food was really good, both at the buffet and the main dining room. The staff was extremely friendly and really took to my younger son. I had an issue with no hot water in my cabin and they quickly moved us to another stateroom and compensated us for the inconvenience. The on-board casino was also decent. The arcade, however, had outdated machines, many were broken, and the sound didn't work on some. My least favorite part was being ushered into shopping areas whenever we got off of the ship, but that's typical for any cruise, I think. Overall, I would recommend the cruise to others.

The cabin was ok. Like I mentioned, I did not have hot water, so we were relocated to the 10th deck, 1257. There was a lot of noise there and so much motion that the hangers shook in the closet all day and night long. The sofas in both staterooms looked filthy/stained, so we covered them with a sheet.

Ship tip

Get up early (before 6) and go to the 12th deck. It's so peaceful then and you will get to see the ship pulling up to the different ports. Also, if you plan on running around the track, it's a great time to do so.

Eagle beach was really nice. The cabbie took us to a spot that charges $10 to rent a beach chair. If you don't want to pay, take plenty of towels so you can use those instead.

The cabbies will try to charge you per person for an island tour, but if you're willing to walk away from the port a little, you can get a tour for $30 total.
