Review summary

We had a great time on the ship and for the most part it exceeded our expectations. We read lots of reviews so we were prepared for the long wait to get on the ship. The first day was pretty crowded with dinner and the buffet but after that it wasn't so bad for such a large ship. The only thing that would have made the trip better would have been an extra day at sea. It was nice to be able to visit so many ports but since we really enjoyed the poolside activities on the last day we wish we had one more day like this. We did the My Time Dining and were glad we did. We ended up at the same table with the same waiter almost every night but it was nice to have the option to sit alone or move.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The lunch buffet was dissapointing and limited. Most meats were overcooked and dry. We were also told that there was a Sushi restaurant on our ship class which turned out to be false. There are only two other places to eat onboard and they're both paid - Johnny Rockets and an Italian Restaurant. Johnny Rocket's was fun for lunch. We didn't go to the Italian restaurant because another couple said it wasn't worth it and the menu wasn't that special compared to our normal sit down dinners. Soft serve ice cream was only available from 12-6, forcing you to pay extra for Ben and Jerry's at night. The food at dinner was excellent, but portions are small so order multiple menu items. The room service menu is very limited, but it makes sense so that people will be more likely to take advantage of the buffet.

Entertainment

Typical cruise activities and entertainment. The ice show was good, the others were average. I would recommend going to a smaller lounge with your companions and moving around frequently.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Friendly and helpful, but a few bad apples. They weren't willing to provide extra perks to cruisers when a mistake was made.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean and well-appointed

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was roomy for two people and nice. Bring your own shampoo. Do not bring an iron! It will be confiscated.

Ship tip

The balcony is worth it. Soft drinks are NOT included! We were surprised by that. The boarding and disembarking processes at the beginning and end of the cruise were time-consuming and chaotic. Prepare to wait a few hours to board. Also, people tend to really dress up on formal night. The women wear gowns and the men wear tuxedos. They won't refuse entry if you aren't dressed up, but you may feel out of place. The gym wasn't that great and the massage wasn't worth the money.

Ports of call

St. John's, Antigua

We were overwhelmed by people trying to get us in to taxi's at this port.

Castries, St. Lucia

Beautiful from the ship, but again overwhelmed by people (all from the same taxi company) trying to take us somewhere

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

By far our favorite port, mostly because the beach we went to was beautiful. White sand and clear water, everything you want on vacation.
