First Experience - Not Bad by GenevieveC2

Sail date: /
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The Celebrity Mercury was a very nice ship. I especially liked the fact that you did not have to go through the smoke filled casion to get to anything other than one nightclub (which was the least attended club). We appreciated that there was ongoing maitenance to show pride and accountability. The food was excellent and the customer service was nice. We got to have good chats with crew and enjoyed the events offered on ship.

a boat full of happy cruisers by MargaretW11

The Mercury was just the right size, had everything but wasn't so big you couldn't push a wheelchair from one end to the other in time to catch a show.

A Nice Weekend Getaway by KimberlyW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The cruise was enjoyable. The ship was clean and well kept. This is the first cruise I have taken with Celebrity, I would cruise with them again. I would have liked to see some additional entertainment throughout the evening. The dining room was nice, the menu could use some WOW factor to it. All in all it was a great weekend getaway.

A great bargain! by KariA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The service and little extras made for a special trip: robes in our room, placemats on the buffet trays, wait persons in the buffet ready to carry your tray, thoughtful waiters who remembered your favorites each night (my decaf was ready when I arrived at the dining table).

The food and waiter staff was very good, but the ship over all was not as clean as we have been used too. Our room was clean, but the hallways and elevators were not!!

A wonderful Seattle-BC cruise by KellyS10

Staff was very courteous and friendly, eager to serve you. Not too impressed with 2 out of the 3 nightly entertainment acts, but loved the Celebrity singers and dancers!

Enjoyable. Would do it again! by WesC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The ship was attractive, comfortable. The staff was warm, friendly, and generally attempting to be responsive and helpful. I thought some of the "scheduling" could use some tweeking in order to be more accomodating to a greater number of cruisers.. Example, ice cream was pretty unavailable as an evening treat / snack for those of us who had early dinner and attended the second entertainment show. Something as simple as having the ice cream facility open 30 minutes longer would solve this.

average cruise by KimT5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

I would recommend any weekend cruise get away, it is inexpensive and fun, we have 16 people in our group, a few of them do not speak English. the entertainment on this cruise are so bad, people go to cruise are expect entertainment of music and danc, none on this one. my family cruise a lot, just about every year, from 3 to 10 days for the last 15 years, different cruise line and location, but this one has the worst entertainment, I know this a inexpensive cruise but it is for the weekend, which mean you get repeat local people coming back, OMG the captial's joke i hear the some joke at least three different cruise line.

Great Cruise by AT503

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Enjoyed this cruise with my husband last year and recommended it to many people. Had the opportunity to take a girl's cruise this time. We celebrated my mom's 82nd birthday with her sister, my two sisters and one friend. Three out of the six of us were first time cruisers. This was my 5th cruise, second time on the Mercury and I think it is a great cruise line. We always enjoy Victoria but once to Nanaimo is enough. I stayed on the ship with my mom and Aunt and the other girls got off. They did enjoy themselves but did not purchase much except Nanaimo bars. Yum!! We were a little disappointed in the entertainment this year. It was exceptionally good last year and I was telling everyone how great it was, but this year, the comedian was really funny and the ventriliquist was good but his material was a little dull. We thought there would be music and dancing the last night but it was minimal and a repeat of the ventriliquist. He is good at what he does but his material needs some revamping. Too much drunk talk and old age, kinda boring. Overall, it was a good cruise and I was very excited to take my mom and sister, especially, to see their excitement. Too bad the weather wasn't a bit better so they could have gone out on the decks. I would go again. Even though we had inside cabins, Vacation Outlet did a great job at getting them all close together. Thank you!!!

A Wonderful First Time Experience! by DavidA15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Absolutely wonderful! This was our first cruise and we didn't know what to expect. The staff and service was absolutely over the top in quality and helpful and friendly. I loved the fact that staff was so multi cultural and were always available to answer any questions or help in any fashion or form. The food was incredible! I cannot tell what was more fun, the buffet or the fine dining! The way the buffet is designed keeps long lines from forming and still keeps dozens of options available from sandwiches to wraps, soups, and desserts. But the Fine Dining in the Manhattan Restaurant was the best! I loved being treated with first class service and the last night had the most wonderful presentation of meeting the chefs, managers and waiters with the Baked Alaska. The spinning napkins was so much fun and the food is superior. The Comedian was soo funny and had really nice all around sense of humor. He was not very raunchy or dirty. Fortunes Casino was fun even though we left empty handed. :) The Rendez-vous Square was delightful and The Navigator Club was exciting. Overall the cruise was only 3 days but the most relaxing and fulfilling days ever! We can't wait till we take our next cruise and you can bet it will be longer than 3 days!

Mercury Cruise last week by CliffR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Over all we enjoyed the cruise and it was a pleasant way to kill a few days and relax. We started off in a state room on level 4 and we played Bingo and won an upgrade to a Sky Suit for the last 2 nights which was nice. Only slightly more room but with more amenities than the state rooms. Deck 12 was quiet and nice. The TV Selection was poor and when we attempted to rent a Movie the quality and reception was so bad we asked for a refund and did receive one because we could not view the Movie at all.

We had a delicious cruise by PhyllisR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We sailed on the Mercury for 3 nights to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary. It was the perfect way to celebrate. We loved our stateroom and verandah. Even though the space is small it was efficiently laid out with plenty of storage space. It was clean and the cabin steward was invisible but always there. How do they do that? She attended perfectly to the room whenever we were not there. The staff was cheerful and and always helpful. The food was very nice with plenty of variety. We enjoyed dancing, going to shows, a movie, our shore time.....and still there seemed to be plenty of time to just laze about our stateroom napping and reading. It was a perfect 3 day retreat! We are considering doing it again next year, and perhaps taking our kids and grandkids along with us.

Not so great cruise by MarcellaC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Mercury / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

I felt for the low cost we paid, we got exactly what we deserved. I believe the Mercury is ready for a remodel. The staff does an excellent job at keeping it clean, but the condition of the furniture and surrondings is very well used and run down. The water temperature in our shower was not consistant and therefor we were freezing one moment and scalded the next. Compared to other cruise lines I felt the TV interaction programming was not as user friendly as others. I was ready for pampering and beauty when I boarded the Mercury, only to board and find quietness and dual colors.
