The ship was attractive, comfortable. The staff was warm, friendly, and generally attempting to be responsive and helpful. I thought some of the "scheduling" could use some tweeking in order to be more accomodating to a greater number of cruisers.. Example, ice cream was pretty unavailable as an evening treat / snack for those of us who had early dinner and attended the second entertainment show. Something as simple as having the ice cream facility open 30 minutes longer would solve this.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Question decision to offer spaghetti as a main selection for dinner on the evening designated as "semi-formal" for dinner. Additionally, our waiter had a very difficult time keeping or even getting orders straight. His communication in English was difficult to understand. He was warm and firiendly, as much so as you can with a communication gap.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Comedian was fantastic. Ventriloquist was good, but, a full performance of only ventriloquism is too much. Band appeared to be rather uninspired. Missed the final night because of illness.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff in positions where ability to communicate in clear understandable manner it is particularly important that you have someone who knows and can communicate clearly is important. I found to many "non-English first language staff" difficult and frustrating to deal with. Certainly, in having to deal with a pretty violent sickness we found the attending physician to be helpful and accomodating, but, the support staff (nurse) had a faulty "beside" manner and left every impression that our hardship was a source of irritation and imposition on her. Additionally being quaranteened and the situation that created left the impression that the ship actually lacked an effective and comforting standard operating proceedures. This left us feeling like we were on an island. Food options prescribed by the doctor were not even available and the room service orders were never exactly correct.
Our room attendant was exceptional and very accomodating throughout the cruise.
