They destroy your personal drinks by larryhermannpet

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

These people take your personal drinks from your baggage and destroy it. There was no notice on the bording pass that says you may not take drinks on the ship. They also messed up the Fed inspection in Long Beach. People had to stand in line for hours to leave the ship. I most likley will take this cruise again.

The worse by cruiseme

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The cabin was kept clean, however there was mode in the bathroom. The cabin had a terrible smell, (One Night) which we had to call maintenance, and was told it was due to not enough air circulation. Told us to leave air down very low, for about 30 minutes. Room service was not that great. The coffee was warm and the pastries were very cold. (Not enough selections) Our waitress at dinner was not very professional, at times she was rude to my friend. (She was nice to me.) We went to see a movie and it was SO COLD. Because it was so cold, I got sick, and could not go to the first Formal Dinner. The only time the food was half way good was on the second Formal Dinner. I was still feeling sick and could not really enjoy myself. (Due to the cold theater) The elevators were not working on two occasions. The DJ played music for the young, rather than for the older people. Needless to say I was very disappointed, being that I was looking forward to the cruise. I felt like asking for a refund. Because I paid both fares. ($1,760.99)

I must say all the crew showed us lots of respect and was very nice and friendly. This was my first time with Princess Cruise and the last time. SO SORRY.

Mediocre cruiseship... by LovemyGary

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Pearl / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We looked forward to our first cruise on a Norwegian ship, after many others on Holland America, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean.  Unfortunately, this was not up to the standard of those 3.  The complimentary restaurants (only 2) were very noisy due to low ceilings, and the specialty restaurants (Norwegian brags that there are more than 10!) were disappointing as well.  Food quality was good, but not outstanding.  Service WAS pleasant, however, and staff never failed to try hard to do their best!  The layout of the ship was disjointed, and it was difficult to walk the length of the ship without walking through the Argentinian restaurant, for example!

Entertainment was good, but not outstanding.  We enjoy taking a few classes on cruises, such as computer or photography classes, but nothing like that was offered.  The atrium, or the central plaza, was where the chefs of the specialty restaurants demonstrated a few of their dishes....and a huge screen there was showing a movie a few times.  Singers were good....

The BEST part of the cruise was the Thermal Suite, a part of the spa which was open to the few who bought a pass!!  The whole 5 days was $89, about 1/2 the cost of a massage!  We loved relaxing on the heated lounges, the whirlpool and jacuzzi, the herbal steam room and sauna.  It is located at the very front of the ship, so we enjoyed a beautiful view of the water as we relaxed...a great place just to get away from the crowds and read.

The weather was very rough for the first two days, and many people got seasick, which fortunately we don't experience!  But the filthy hallways and stairways we had to walk through should have been cleaned MUCH more quickly!

The cabin we were assigned was not bad, but carpet was so dirty it smelled dusty, and was visually desperately in need in cleaning.  The bath had no amenities...only a wall dispenser of shampoo and bath gel.  A small bottle of lotion would have been most welcome!

Very relaxing time.  Food was not as good as we expected. Service at the traditional dining restaurant was wonderful but the food itself was not great.

Nice respite! by CarrieBeth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

My stateroom and service there was pleasant.  Best breakfast on the room service menu was an egg McMuffin-like sandwich, not really a hot breakfast such as eggs, bacon, hash browns, etc as on Holland America... a  little disappointing as I didn't really want to get dressed to go out of my room for breakfast.  Food, in general, was not the quality of Holland. Had lamb roast that required a steak knife to cut and was very "chewy"; mushroom soup and cold pumpkin soup had very little flavor; pasta dishes didn't come with enough sauce and were, therefore, "pasty"; lobster and shrimp dinner came with plain white rice, thought that was an odd pairing but seafood was very good.  Guess it depends on what one's previous experience has been but just having the meals prepared for me and not having to do the dishes was great!!!  Spa was very nice as were the professionals there, very caring and very attentive to one's needs.  All in all was a rejuvenating time for me.

Save the money and book full cruise by GmaCruiserYahoo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

For the cost, you're better off spending a little more and experiencing a full cruise (especially since they are so inexpensive now days).  I thought it would be fun for my kids and grandkids. The grandkids loved swimming in the pool and the food.  I wasn't overly impressed with the ship - I prefer Royal Carribbean.

Wine Cruise by patmagoo

OK - I liked the Princess Line cruises a bit better.

Wasn't happy with the room -- too small - difficult to move around. The outside

area balcony floor was lumpy - like a layer of covering was coming loose. On a positive side, the room attendants were very good.

A little Disappointing. by salb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Celebrity Century / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The first time we cruised on Celebrity,it was on the Century. That was ten years ago.

I have loved everything about Century.  We had a balcony on that cruise. This time,

coming from Florida, we cut down on cost by getting a "window room".  What we got was a "porthole room' with a bed hanging off the side wall ,right next to the bed.

The mattress felt like it was at least ten years old, and I hit my head three times getting up in the middle of the night.

I realize that the Century is an older ship, but a porthole should not be advertised

as a window, the consumer should be made aware of what they are getting.

We have traveled with Celebrity six times and we have never had a complaint, even have talked friends into sailing with you,as we, probably will do again.

I think the rooms on that floor are due for an overhaul.

Relax and let the Captain steer by Grannyc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

Good points. Wonderful view leaving Vancouver and all the way to sunset near Victoria.  Equally awesome view coming in under the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco.  Our stateroom steward was very friendly and helpful.  Room service personnel were prompt and polite. The day at sea was nice, though very breezy,  and enjoyed a plunge in the Lotus Spa heated and covered pool.  Found some good bargains at a small sale for ladies clothing and a couple goodies for the grand children.  Not so good:  rock hard beds.  Had tried to request a kind, but got two twins.  Tiny bathroom. Horizon court food was mostly dreadful, too salty and just not appealing. Food at the 'any time dining' facility was also not so good,   Limited choices and no options, difficult to get reservation before 7:45pm, which is very late to have an evening meal for us, hard to get a table for 2, and all things combined kinda ruined the evening. There was a storm at sea the first night and the ship rocked quite a bit. Was fun in the pool the nest day, not so much fun almost falling out of bed that night. I would try this particular cruise again, just probably not on this ship.  Very dissapointed as previous Princess Cruises were just wonderful.

Ive been spoiled because I have gone on premier cruise lines so when you go on an average line like Princess that used to be good it can be very dissapointing.  I made the best of it and still managed to gain 4 lbs.

Highly recommend for 1st Timers or Avid Cruisers by cruisealot56

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

5 Star trip all the way! From the moment we boarded till we departed we were treated with kindness and enthusiasm from the entire crew. Roomy cabins had rich appointments of teak wood, biggest showers~room for two!

Thoroughly enjoyed the free styling food service enabling us to decided when and where to eat. Delicious food  choices ranged from lobster tails to sushi to a BBQ on deck to a chocolate buffet.

This was our 18th cruise but first on NCL, but certainly not our last. Looking forward to our next  relaxing voyage with you.

A sleepy ship. by K7B

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We had save all year long for this trip, only to be disappointed. The staff was very nice, and we were looking forward to the restaurants, only to fine out most of them were never open, we had 2 options that were open and it was $30.00 not $12.00 and the garden cafe was by far the best place to eat, the main dinner room food was just okay. My husband enjoy the main dinner room, but he likes everything plain, with no favor. I like to Taste my food the meat was slice into paper thin slices that there was no flavor to it at all. are room was in need of a good cleaning, the sheets were never changed, and the duck take that was holding the railing on the pool side deck was a great laugh. and the most disappointing part is that the entire ship was in bed by 10:00 pm!

Great way to see the Pacific Northwest by funtocruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The trip did not start off well for many as the transport arrangements from San Diego to Ensenada were beyond poorly organized. Some people had to wait up to 4 hours for their bus and some buses were poorly maintained. We had arranged a private driver to take us to Ensenada, but even that was confusing as we were not given clear instructions from Celebrity on where to check in or where to leave our baggage. Once on the ship, we were pleased with our room (as usual) and glad we had booked Aqua as Blu provides a good dining service. We went to the Specialty restaurants a few evenings and they were quite good. We rate the entertainment on Celebriy as "fair" but it was not an issue for us as we usually listen to piano and jazz. This cruise did not provide good transport in ports if you are not on one of their tours. That is a bit frustrating as it is not good to rely only on local "trolley's" which are infrequent. We were on the Reflection in February and felt local transport was better organised and more frequent. Disembarkation was as expected and not as chaotic as some other cruises. All in all, a good holiday with some minor annoyances. We will cruise with Celebrity again, but ask more questions and do more research about local sites before we go.

Celebrity Solstice Wine Cruise by citicruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The ship is exquisite. The food in both the main dining room and specialty dining was spectacular,l and the waiters in both were great. Our inside cabin room was surprisingly large (king bed, full couch, and large bathroom with walk in shower). There was lots of storage for belongings. Now the not so good --- port to ship transportation was pathetic. Long lines and hours of waiting. It took over 6 hours to get to the 2 hour destination. Staff on the ship were NOT friendly, Not accommodating, and not concerned if you had an issue. They control the temperature in the cabin. I asked repeatedly to lower the temp but they never did. We had requested a large table top so we we could meet other people, but we were put at table for 2 and they refused to move us. We also were put in different dinging time than our friends; they had 6:30 and we had 8:30. They also refused to allow us to change dining times, yet there were empty seats all over the room at both seatings. The bars and clubs were so beautiful, but the Larwence Welk band sucked and the DJ music was boring as well -- all old fashioned music, The shows were mediocre. Ship was spectacular -- experience was rather dreary. Most disappointed in the staff and boring music/agendas on board.

It was okay. The entertainment needs to be worked on. I was not to pleased with housekeeping. for the 1st 2 days our room was not vaccummed and cabinets needed to be wiped down. Bedding not changed at all thru out the week. This very much so needs improvement. I put a comforter on our couch because that had not been vaccummed in quite a while. I checked daily but it still was never vaccummed. It was very dusty.

excellent by estrada2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Pearl / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

The cruise was excellent and I had a great time on the cruise. But I wasn't happy with my booking of the cruise. When I was checking out the cruise I called NCL to get details of the cruise and the NCL person told me that if I booked the cruise I would get $100.00 on board credit . I mentioned this to my travel agent and she assured me I would get it if I booked it with her. She also told me I would get an additional $ 75.00 if I used a Mastercard which I did. I got the $ 75.00 from MC but I didn't get anything from NCL and I am very disappointed in NCL. I took you at your word and when the time came I was told there was no on board credit from NCL. I am a platinum latitude member and I have never complained about this before so now you can see why I am very disappointed in NCL

First Cruise by RalphFrye

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: U.S. - Pacific, Northwest

We enjoyed our first cruise. We would enjoy going again. The cruise director was very talented. He was funny to watch in one of the games. He also sang very well in one program. Our cabin guy was a hard worker. He kept our room looking great. We loved sitting on the balconey watching the dolphins and seals. We wish that we could have seen whales. The restaurants on the ship had very good food. It was nice to sit down for dinner but we also enjoyed the buffet. The food was good. We liked the new pizza restaurant.
