Amazing Panama Canal Cruise by deborahelynch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Overall great cruise. Went Jan/Feb so there were no kids on board (we were told 18 in total). Weather was perfect and I loved that the captain and pilot explained so much about the Panama Canal as we were preparing to go through and then during the transit.

Time spent on the ship was boring and a lot of it! by MLSmith

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride

A lot of time on the boat - rough seas and didn't learn much about the Panama Canal.

Not so great of a cruise - did not get to go on land at Costa Rica - I know it was because of weather but 6 days on the water is a long time - with no compensation except for those with excursions got reimbursed. by dongail31

Was probably the worse cruise I have been on with Carnival. Food and service could have been a lot better. Not a lot to do on sail days

Casual Fun by HappyTwosome

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess

It was an enjoyable, relaxing cruise that stopped at ports we’ve visited before so we just took it day by day. The ambience on board was way more casual than any of the many pre-pandemic Princess cruises we have taken in the past and I realized that I packed too many “nice’ clothes. The medallion technology was amazing and made everything easy, from boarding to ordering drinks and anything else.

The guest relations staff has to be the worst ever. We had all kinds of booming noises outside our room that literally shook our door and walls. They did nothing for six days and told us it was waves. Finally someone came up and noticed the problem. by markwclymer230

We've had 14 wonderful cruises. Our 15th one was awful. Princess should be ashamed of themselves.

Enjoyable cruise by Ellice

We enjoyed this cruise albeit we encountered some very rough seas, especially on return home. crew and passengers sent to their cabins due to 70 mph winds and thunderstorms!

Bucket List Cruise by leeostrow

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

The main event is the canal crossing which is narrated. It takes an entire day to cross. Really enjoyed the cruise starting from the Pacific side and ending in Miami. The Mexican ports minus Acapulco were nice. I cannot recommend a visit to Acapulco due to the damage sustained by a Category 5 hurricane last October 2023. Its very sad to see the damage to all the homes and hotels. Not much to see there accept if you do a boat tour. The whales are around many of the Mexican ports during our winter, so boat tours are a good option. We did the coffee plantation tour in Guatemala. It was excellent and the clear skies gave our group a great view of the Volcanoes, and yes one was erupting.

Long cruise -- a perfect winter break by LovesCruises

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We like NCL for consistency and value, but get a bit irritated with the "upcharge" for just about everything (specialty dining, premium drinks, faster wifi, fitness classes). This was the longest cruise we have taken with NCL, and we truly enjoyed it. WIFI on board is way better than it was 5 years ago, but continues to regularly kick off users off during a session (too many people trying to access). Overall it was nice cruise and I would take it again!

Beautiful new ship, only fair cruise by SRJ1

Excellent new ship but spotty service (although room steward excellent) Not enough interesting port stops or activities on board so after a week became boring.

great ship and crew. Terrible itinerary. by clccullens

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun

All the ports were industrial with no where to go unless you took a NCL excursion. The little towns were full of trash every where. Peru is the filthiest place I've ever been.

good trip! by donsandman

a good, very expensive, pricey cruise. Lima Peruvain Paso excursion was fantastic.!! Captain brought use safely to port. Thank you! I would have liked more weather information about winds and expected sea state. He spoke the absolute minimum.

Great way to experience Panama Canal by kwright330

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Silver Nova

This was our 2nd Silver Seas cruise in six months, and I give them high marks in most all categories. This ship was spectacular overall - with the staff taking top honors, followed by the food & drinks, ship design, and number of restaurants choices.

Quiet, drama-free and luxurious by Hiroshi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Island Princess

This was a very relaxing cruise for us. We only had four ports of call and one day transiting the Panama Canal, but the rest of our cruise was spent at sea. There was plenty of entertainment for everybody on board; but this ship probably isn’t for a family with kids since it’s an older ship, and it doesn’t have all of the modern amenities of the newer and larger mega cruise ships. However, if you’re looking for a quiet, drama-free and luxurious cruise ship experience, this is the ship for you.

Wonderful Trip & did a fine job! by gjgeswein

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Island Princess

If you want to tour the Panama Canal this is the ship & cruise to take. The ship is small & able to go through the original canal. At the time we went through water levels were low & only 50% of the ships could go through the canal. We were allowed to go.

Panama Canal by rickjeankestner

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Mars

We enjoyed the cruise but with the cancellation of one of the ports, we had too many sea days. Also, would have liked to have more time in Cabo. Panama Canal transit was great--there was a speaker on the ship that did alot of narration during the transit.
