Was extremely disappointed as this was advertised as a luxury cruise.  Have been on Princess and was treated much better. Our flight from LA to New York and then from New York to Lima was horrible. We got into Lima at 6:30 AM and were exhausted. This exhaustion carried out through the cruise as excursions were scheduled for early in the mornings which meant we had to get up early to dress and get breakfast.  Service was poor on board ship; most of the crew acted like they were bored.  Food at the buffet was poor; had a hard time finding something to eat.  We ate dinner and some breakfasts in the Grand Dining Room which was good.  The four specialty restaurants were good.  Used the spa one time and felt pressured to use their consultation services.  The evening entertainment in the Marina lounge we attended was good.

Sapphire Princess by EileenCheng

Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

I loved this cruise because of the itinerary, it is nicely space out between at sea and at port. One day at sea and one day at port. It is very relaxing meanwhile you can see a lot. I will definitely go again if there is a similar itinerary.

Far East Trip by oskieyo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Legend of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The Legend of the Seas, nowdays, is on the smaller side, which gives it some advantages like: quicker processing times for embarkation and debarkation, smaller queues for excursions, dinning options and activities. The staff is to be commended for their friendliness and willingness to satisfy your needs. The food at the Windjammer was adequate; at the Romeo and Juliette restaurante was good, but on formal evening was not extra special and at Chops Grille, delicious. There was a good balance between sea days and ports of call. Because of its size, the production shows were not as embellish as on a larger vessel. The Solareum is a great place for those who wish to  get away from the bustle of the main pool area.

Fabulous combination of exciting & relaxing! by Cruiser239

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Splendour of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We originally booked this cruise due to price, time frame, & itinerary.  The stops were all very interesting & the number of sea days allowed for enjoyment of many on board choices of activities also.  As it is a smaller ship, the staff had the time to be much more personal & we felt we were treated like friends rather than customers.  This was the last voyage of the Splendour as RCL has sold her to Thompson.  That made for a really one of a kind cruise - as all the staff & entertainers recognized that each activity was the last on board this ship!  Great fun!

Like a Private Resort by elainem408

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nautica / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Everything about our trip was wonderful.  It was like being at a private resort that was just civilized in every respect.  The beds were very comfortable and the food was great.  The land packages we took to Bagan and the promo to the Taj Mahal were excellent.  They were very organized and we stayed at the best resorts in both places and then in Delhi.  I look forward to other Oceania Cruises.Happy

Diamond Princess 19 Night Australia & Asia by lockwrite

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Diamond Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Fabulous cruise!!  To begin with, the Diamond Princess is a beautiful ship.  This is our 6th cruise with Princess and I rate this ship up there as one of the best.  The only thing I missed was the full service International Cafe.  As far as the itinerary goes, it gave us a wonderful exposure to Australia (west coast) and a good sampling of Asia.  I think I would prefer to have skipped Bali and added more time in Thailand a/or Vietnam where we could have experienced some beaches.  All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed the cruise.

Trip to Asian by boutinlouise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We liked the places that we went but in Shanghai, the excursion was a race against time. Also, the cost pour the excursion on your own of Ho Chi Minh City was too much expensive. We didn't understand a word of our guide. Finally the organisation of the ship was very poor. We had no information about where or when we could get out of the ship and many hours were lost because of that.

Great time by koryrichard

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Everything was fantastic on the cruise. Got on the boat quickly, luggage arrived at the room quickly. Crew were amazing. Always great when the crew remembers your name from day one not to mention your preferred cocktail. The food was good but not great. All the dining rooms had the same menu which I get from a logistics point of view but with some 4-5 dining rooms for the anytime dining option I hoped for some variety.

Unbelievable Ship by missmc123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Quantum of the Seas is an unbelievably beautiful ship. It is brand new and gorgeous beyond expectations. The artwork throughout is stunning and the public areas are so beautiful.  I stayed in the owner suite and it was so roomy and deluxe. We were treated like royalty by the crew. Being on a ship that was almost 90% asian passengers may be difficult for some people, however, because we were in a suite, the amenities gave us a break from the general population.  The cruise is definitely catering to the Asian market, so do not be surprised to find that things are not like a RCCL that sails out of the US.  The food in the buffet was geared toward Asian tastes but the specialty restaurants were awesome and great fun. I highly recommend staying in a suite to have the ability to work with a concierge and get a little break from the crowds. Well worth the extra price for access to the private dining room alone!

Celebrity Millenium South Asia by vshteynberg777

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We are really enjoyed the cruise. Everything was very good except a few details , which we mentioned below.  The service was great. The buffet is good. Food in the restaurant was delicious. The only little detail - you should work on pastries.

And One more thing, why this cruise was very good - Its because of the Captain of Millennium! Great Person and great Captan.

Is this the New celebrity Standard? by harryblue811

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Captain, Cabin Attendants, and Concierge were exceptional.  Customer Relations staff were sometimes good, and sometimes indifferent.  Food in the main dining was general good, but lacked the the selection of previous cruises on your line.  The idea of a verbal Asian selection is simply stupid, have it printed and put the insert in the menu.  Food in the Ocean View was generally fair. selection was poor, and often quality was poor.  Several times food was cold not even warmed.  Example sausages cold in the morning, Past hot sauce cold.  Often had to go to several coffee stations to try to get coffee.  Specialty restaurants were good, but overpriced. Except the Bistro on 5 which should be eliminated.  Ship is very tired, should have been refitted a few years ago.  I noticed that the first line managers in Ocean View were very harsh on the help instead of pointing out what the could do to improve.  This does not make for a happy crew, which is reflected on the service your passengers get.

Please Note:  Saying you are a great crew and ship usually means you are not!

Made friends from around the world by Koalcash

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Great cruise, entertsinment and ports. Our only complaint was...All the staff were pleasant except for the people behind counter at cafe del bacio where they served coffee and pastries or cake on the 5th floor. For some reason they were rude to my husband every single day. He is very easy going.. The serving staff was fine. It was the people behind the counter.

i would also suggest going a few days early to Hong Kong before your cruise and staying a few days after your cruise in Singspore.  Signs are all in English.

General Comments of the above trip by sfri3021

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Silver Shadow / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The ship was excellent and the service was the best ever.  The food however, while beautifully presented was often not hot and the beef, other than the filet, was very tough. The chef said they get all their beef from Kansas City so this issue was not a local problem.

The side trips were good, but the write ups consistently described the animals we could see they did not say that they were nocturnal and rarely seen during the day.  The monkeys however were great.

All in all it was a wonderful trip and I strongly recommend 3-4 days in Singapore if you had not been there.  It was  really beautiful city and the botanical garden was the best ever.

Thanks to Richey for all his help in putting this together.  He was the best yet.

Sue and Jerry Friend

My Asian Adventure by debraem59

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Volendam / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Very Good trip. I would have preferred to spend less time in Myanmar and have a day more in Kuala Lumpur or Phuket, which have so much more to see and do. I felt that they where forcing themselves to put together tours in Myanmar or just wanting to upsale the overnight tours.

Disappointing by lgcrabbe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Fiasco in boarding procedure.

Stateroom dingy.

Bed linens, mattresses, and pillows badly need replacing.

Excursions disappointing. Not much to see in some ports, so excursion a real reach.

Dining room service too slow.

Buffet food okay, repeated too often. Buffet desserts very disappointing.

TV service inadequate.

Ship needs redo.

Staff courteous.

cruising by morah5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We had a very good cruise.  The service was wonderful and the ship was beautiful. We enjoyed the food in the buffet and thought there was always a good selection. However, we were not always satisfied with the food in the Metropolitan. We felt there was often a lack of quality that we expect in fine dining. The evening entertainment was varied and enjoyable.  Another issue we had was with the concierge service. The daily fruit was always the same and the canapes were very unappetizing. Although preferred disembarkment was supposed to be part of the concierge service, it was never offered to us. We did not see any other perks to being on this level.

We also asked Luc Tremblay for information about a port and felt that he was not helpful at all. He was very curt with us and left us frustrated when trying to formulate our plans in Hong Kong. We also found it difficult to get a lounge chair on the pool deck...people saved them early in the morning and if we went out later in the day, it was impossible to get a seat.

Except for the above issues, we had a delightful experience aboard the Millenium.
