Was extremely disappointed as this was advertised as a luxury cruise.  Have been on Princess and was treated much better. Our flight from LA to New York and then from New York to Lima was horrible. We got into Lima at 6:30 AM and were exhausted. This exhaustion carried out through the cruise as excursions were scheduled for early in the mornings which meant we had to get up early to dress and get breakfast.  Service was poor on board ship; most of the crew acted like they were bored.  Food at the buffet was poor; had a hard time finding something to eat.  We ate dinner and some breakfasts in the Grand Dining Room which was good.  The four specialty restaurants were good.  Used the spa one time and felt pressured to use their consultation services.  The evening entertainment in the Marina lounge we attended was good.

Cabin / Stateroom
Carpet was filthy! For a balcony/veranda the cabin was smaller than other ships we have been on. The configuration was okay. The balcony was small compared to other ships. The closet doors were very lose and rattled constantly when crossing waves; this was disturbing for night sleep.
Embarkation and Disembarkation
Pretty much all disembarkation from ship for excursions was pretty unorganized and disembarkation in New York was disorganized. It started out with one of the staff giving directions to disembark which was going pretty smoothly and then another staff member came along and things were confused.
Ship Quality
Destinations and Excursions
Some guides need to learn to speak English better so they can understand questions asked. We had one guide that pretty much left us on our own in Guatemala after he gave his informative talk. He was no where to be found for questions or help. He must have gone back to the bus area because we didn't see him until time to leave. The guide for Chan Chan had poor English skills and was searching for the right words to describe portions of the site or to answer questions. Our guide for Machu Piccha was excellent; he was very knowledgeable and able to answer questions. We received a letter when we got on board that our excursion for the Statue of Liberty was cancelled because of failure of the vendor to sign contract. Was extremely disappointed in this as this was the focus of our New York excursion. We ended up taking a boat cruise of the river going around the Statue of Liberty.
Onboard Activities
Entertainment
Service and Staff
Staff acted like they were bored. The lady at the Destinations Desk was good and very helpful. Room steward acted like he was tired and didn't care; seldom greeted us.
Food and Dining
Buffet was poor; Grand Dining Room pretty good when waiter remembered to bring all dishes ordered.
Callao (Lima), Peru
Had no guide; we were on our own.
Salaverry (Trujillo), Peru
Guide needed better English skills.
Manta, Ecuador
Didn't go because of earthquake.
Panama Canal Transit
Puerto Limon, Costa Rica
Santo Tomas De Castilla, Guatemala
Guide left us on our own.
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Cozumel, Mexico
Excursion was not what we expected. It was described as shopping and highlights of Cozumel. We toured a chocolate factory, tequila factory and no description of shopping or city highlights of Cozumel. There was a very good presentation in a museum of the culture. Fortunately we had been to Cozumel before.
Miami, Florida
Port Canaveral, Florida
The Kennedy Space Center tour requires more time! We saw the highlights but not enough time to look at the displays.
