It was an interesting and comfortable cruise. by josepaulucci

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

It was a interesting and pleasant cruise. The locations we visited were very nice, and I would recommend this itinerary. I have to confess that the previous three cruises I did with Celebrity were a little more enjoyable. They were done twice on the Equinox and once on the Eclipse. The performances on board I think were better. Finally I have to say that the cost of this cruise makes it a great cost benefit option.

Ports too far from cities by manzlorraine

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

I feel stupid for not investigating this cruise more closely. 3 cities were difficult to visit due to distance from the port. It turned out all right because guides answered questions and taught us about their country on the drive. But it made for a long day of driving.

VERY disappointed with the ship which was supposedly refurbished about 5 years ago. Cracks in bathroom sink, very poor signage, including poor placement of cabin locations (from elevators). Speakerphone doesn't work correctly. by luchu2000

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Great ports. Have been on two other wonderful HAL cruises....SE Asia (again) and Mediterranean. This one was such a disappointment, I cannot recommend to friends, and will probably steer away from future cruises on HAL. We are planning an Alaska cruise......saw that Westerdam will be going there.....NO WAY!!! I told our friends that we would not cruise on Westerdam again, and to stay away from HAL, unless HAL is the only line that goes where we want.

Worst Cruise out of 9 by garycw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

This was our 4th cruise with Princess. We've always been very happy with them but not so much on this trip. Shanghai immigration facilities need a total upgrade to handle a ship of 2700 passengers. Workers were very nice and charming but bad weather and delays made the embarkation a real "turnoff" and spoiled an otherwise enjoyable trip. Princess workers totally screwed up the embarcation. Letting "Elite VIP's" go in front of 200 or so disabled was a total mess and my impression of Princess took a big drop even though I am not disabled.

The cruise was very good. The photo safaris were mildly disappointing since they were mostly private reserves.

Very boring cruise by Jmw88

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

This cruise was boring with no quality night time entertainment and the the ports and excursions were not interesting. The cruise ship is old and food was average. I thought there were more than 1 specialty restaurants. In fact, the cruise has only 1 cafeteria and 1 restaurants. The cruise ship changed Pinnacle Grill into 3 different restaurants on different nights. They also changed Lido their cafeteria every night to Cannaletto Italian restaurant. The foid were not Italian at all! All the restaurants have similar foid, primarily steaks. I prefer going to Europe after taking 2 se asia cruises.

Memorable Mekong Cruise by Twotravellers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: AmaDara / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We loved our cruise on the Amadara. This cruise is a great introduction to Vietnam and Cambodia. It was a great blend of history, culture and shopping. I enjoyed seeing both cities and the countryside. Visiting a local school and interacting with the children was priceless. Our guides were fantastic and all the excursions ran seamlessly.

Ports were interesting by mdindl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Sapphire Princess / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

We were on board for both Cruises - Nov 28th and the following until Dec. 18th. On both Cruises we DID NOT GET AN INVITATION TO THE CIRCLE PARTY. On the first cruise I found out by Chance and talked to the Circle Hostess about it and she said that she prints out the invitations and the room Steward has to put them on the Slot by our door. On the second cruise the same Thing happened again. This time the Circle Hostess - it was a different one - was exceptionally unfriendly when I confronted her with this recurring Problem. Again she put the blame on the room Steward. Upon disembarkation I found the Name tag from our cabin with my Statement and it had the colour BLUE - first time cruisers. I have not noticed this before because it was quite dark in the hallway. I was unable to find out what was going on - because actually we were as Elite Members in the Computer. Could it be that - because we do not like to have the tips put on our Statement but do our own tipping - we are being ignored and on purpose not invited to this functions??? Overall the experience on the Sapphire Princess has not been great. It seemed that generally the staff from Top down did not really care about anything at least that was the feeling we had. No Supervision.

10 Night Thailand & Vietnam: One of the best cruise we been on. Small cozy atmosphere & got to know the crew. by marianowyang

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Azamara Quest / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

First cruise on Azamara & loved it. Best private tour for two days in Bangkok. Travelled to 4 temples, amulet, flower, organic markets, Gold Mountain, Jim Thompson House tour & shop, dim sum lunch in Chinatown, Chinese pagoda, walk through Chinatown, tuk tuk & long boat ride, & even to the Skybar for a drink & view at sunset. All tours on cruise were fun & educating. Food was great, service was superior, even got to do free laundry on board. We had a wonderful time & would book another tour on Azamara.

Good ports of call but not enough time in Malaysia by judyboulom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Food is okay, lots of kids not enough sitting area, entertainment is fun. Port excursion is limited especially in Malaysia long drive to Kuala Lumpur so only short time for shopping and eating like 2.5 hours total to do anything. Phuket is fun but very crowded and walking across street can be dangerous with many cars and motorcycles.

Engine Problems Significantly Lessened the Quality of an Otherwise Good Cruise by vamtboy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The quality of the cruise was lessened because of a problem with the ship's engines, which caused a change in the time arriving / departing at / from a number of the ports. The $200 given to us by the cruise line was not commensurate with the loss of excursions and port time. As a further insult, the money could only be used for ship board purchases which greatly lessened the value. While this problem was rectified at Darwin, there appears to be no reason why this repair couldn't have been accomplished in Singapore. The on-board staff apparently had no ability to address any additional compensation for the reduced quality of the cruise.

Good overall view of 5 countries in Asia. Too many beach ports and others took a ride to get to the attractions/cities.
