Below average experience by askingroberta

Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Overall, this cruise gets a grade of C- from me. I have been on other Norwegian cruises which were much better. The staff seemed new and inexperienced. The left hand did not seem to know what the right hand is doing. I would not recommend it.

A lot of intersting places! by fcf888

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jade / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Overall, the cruise was worthwhile. We got to visit a lot of places in a short period of time. Our excursions were good for the most part. Ibrahim, was our guide in Turkey for Ephesus, etc. He was great and very knowledgeable. As I mentioned previously, behavior of some of the passengers pre excursion needs be addressed. Having people push and shove does not make for a pleasant experience and it is not how I want o spend a vacation. NCL really needs to manage this area better. If not, they will loose other customers. I commend the executive chief and the all the other food prep staff for the quality and presentation of the food on this cruise! Great job.

A Memorable Enjoyable Historic Cruise by ceft

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Overall the cruise was great. The food and service in the Speciality Restaurants were very good. Also the main dining room Compass Rose was also good. The internet was extremely poor and the nightly shows in the theatre were average, nothing outstanding.

Pampered Adventure by sjwaterman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ganges Voyager II / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

It was a terrific experience for us. I think that it is easier for experienced travelers than neophytes as there was a lot of movement among hotels and on excursions, along with unusual food for most of us. Many excursions were early in the morning either to see things that only happen then or to avoid the heat of the day. We felt safe at all times and found there were fewer mosquitoes than we had been told to expect, had an easier time with money and atm machines than we expected, and found the people we met to be very friendly and helpful. The sights were incredible, and the staff of the cruise line were the best - especially our cruise leader, Hemesh Chaturvedi, who ran interference, and kept us organized. We also really enjoyed the small boat experience, very different from the larger boats we have been on in Europe.

Wonderful experience but we still prefer Seabourn smaller ships by saltzamk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Encore / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Overall a good experience. We had a good time. We had some concerns about the size of the ship and we still think smaller is better. Our prior experiences with the Sojourn, Pride and Quest were better.

A trip of a lifetime on Silver Muse by 525sryan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Silver Muse / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Overall, I would give the trip 5 stars. The personalized service is wonderful. We loved the smaller ship, as it gave us an opportunity to meet many people from all over. Everyone was friendly. I would highly recommend the trip. It might be worth springing for the private tours to avoid a lot of downtime and less time just traveling to and from excursions. Nothing is close by where the ship docks for the most part.

Awesome Asian Cruise by CP50

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Quest / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Awesome cruise with so much history. The food was good, as was the service. Our cabin was beautiful and our attendants took very good care of us. Crew and staff appeared to be very passenger centered and went the extra mile to make sure everything was fine. Also, I really enjoyed the overnights in several port.

Huge disappointment by davehg1122

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

If you like to be bored and spend a lot of money on uncharges, this cruise is for you. Besides feeling like I was on a floating old age home, the entertainment was great, haha. If you like spending two weeks at sea with nothing to do but play bingo, watch movies, eat, and sleep by the pool than you might like sailing with Holland America. Personally, I would prefer more than one thing scheduled to do at night. Staff is very friendly, but then again they should be since you might feel like jumping off to swim to shore because of boredom.

Nice ship but loud, rude fellow passengers and lack of excursions ruined it for us by MorrisonHiker

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Spectrum of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Be prepared for rude passengers as many of them cut in line, pushed and shoved to get on elevators before others could get off, YELLED instead of using an "indoor voice", smoked in non-smoking areas and just weren't polite overall. My 71 year old mom was pushed and shoved on more than one occasion. We've been on other Asian cruises and they just aren't as relaxing as cruises in the rest of the world since there are so many rude and LOUD passengers. Also, there were very few excursions offered to English-speaking guests and two of the three excursions that we were interested in were cancelled. If you want to see the Spectrum of the Seas, go for it but be prepared for a rude culture shock and make your own plans for each port of call. We liked the ship and crew but the rude passengers ruined the trip for us.

Interesting trip by Lemoore27

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Azamara Quest / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

A lot of Visa problems never before experienced. China holidays the main problem. Azamara compensation for problem was fine. Cheap cruises support great, Andrea Whitby. Azamara ship staff remained steadfast thru a difficult period. Service and amenities onboard were outstanding. Even with the China visa problems, we enjoyed the cruise very much.

Long ride by stoltronic19684

Ships should have some indoor smoking lounge for the MANY folks who still enjoy this legal pass time.

Nice but Stressful Cruise by pichetong

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Spectrum of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

Highly chaotic cruise with hyper guests and super stressed staff. Not one to take if you are looking to relax with many days at sea, as the days at sea are more chaotic than port days.

Not the best of Japan or Royal Caribbean by dm727

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

The ports of call focused a lot on shopping districts, not exactly what I would think as the best of Japan. Due to weather we had to cancel one of the ports of call and no alternative was given, so we ended up with another day at sea (5 days in total at sea, 3 days at port). The entertainment team saved the cruise, especially the singers, and the trivia team.

Good value and good itinerary. by jwrenna

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Voyager of the Seas / Destination: Other (Asia/Africa/Middle East)

While we enjoyed this vacation, the ship needs an overhaul badly. The tours were good, but S. E. Asia is very hot and humid. And too far from NYC. Would not go back.
