Fun Vacation! by elisenpage

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: North America

This cruise was a lot of fun. I traveled with my family in order to celebrate Christmas.  We got three interior staterooms, as with 6 people, we figured we wouldn't be spending a great deal of time in the rooms.

The state room attendant was very kind and helpful, and the rooms were small but were all we needed for a good nights rest.  The boat had a lot of activities.  We enjoyed the pool for most of our downtime, but we also utilized the gym and the mini golf course, which was a great deal of fun.

The stops the cruise made were excellent, we loved Jamaica, Grand Caymen, as well as Costa Maya, but our favorite was Cozumel.  Despite some rain each stop was a great deal of fun.  The only issue we really had was due to the time of year it got dark before we needed to be back on the boat, causing us to lose time on the island.

Overall great cruise, and I would recommend.

Sirena by tjsyndicate

as usual the best part of an Oceana cruise is the staff, and the best meals are at Red Ginger. all else was very pleasant. particularly enjoyed the string quartet and the barista. our cabin staff was quite efficient and extremely cordial. we liked our stewardess Caroline.

Just a Getaway! by russ810

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: North America

Did the 4 day before this cruise to make it a 7 day Getaway! This was a planned back to back just for the cruise numbers for next step with Princess Elite. We had been to Ensenada before, so didn't need to get off of the ship. So the cruise fit the purpose. Dinning was great, as usual and entertainment was enjoyable.

Great time in Cabo! by LilDame17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: North America

As a family that loves Cabo and wanted a quick getaway this is the perfect itinerary. The ship stays in the bay, and has tenders running all night. It made it easy to play on the beach all day, go get cleaned up and then also experience the Cabo night life.

NIce Cruise by cruise49719133

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: North America

This was nice comfortable cruise. I really have no detractors. Entertainment was very good. I have a 15 year old and a 10 year old and both loved the kids program. Cabin was small but comfortable and functional. Food was good but not exceptional. We aren't drinkers but got the ultimate Beverage package as our freebee when we booked. Definitely drank more than I normally would but they made money on me. I saw people complaining about drink type and strength, but honestly the drinks were well made and of appropriate strength.  It was nice just to order whatever I wanted without mentally clicking off $11 per drink like I normally do and had many soft drinks too.

just the right amount of vacation! by llowenbe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: North America

We've done a number of cruises with NCL, but we had never done a 5 night cruise. This was just right. For the 7 night cruises, we start to get really homesick on day 6 and really ready to go home on day 7. This was wonderful. I especially loved being in port overnight. That allowed us to go on multiple excursions to see more of Cabo.

We got the beverage package and the dining package. The beverage package made our many trips to the bar so easy! And the dining package allowed us to go to the specialty restaurants that we were always looking at. I can't say enough wonderful things about the specialty restaurants. We went to Cagney's, Moderno, and La Cucina.

We didn't go to the pool or the hot tub because there were too many people, but we found lots of places for reading. We did go to all of the art auctions and seminars. Those are always fantastic. The art team was very helpful with making sure that we got the pieces that we wanted. That was probably the highlight of our vacation!

Summary by egoumis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: North America

Entertainment very good.  Weather not always cooperative. Staff excellent, especially mytime dining staff especially host- Khenn; headwaiter food and beverage Roshmann Coutinho, waiter Indra Leksmana from Bali - very professional and entertaining, assistant waiter Viacheslav.  Cabin steward Ricardo Estargo very helpful.

Food not always up to expectations, especially pastas= sauce was bland and tasted like it came out of a chef boyardee can,  and one night the scallops were 75% invisible.  The fish dishes were good and I loved the lamb.

First time on a cruise by grampa70

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: North America

Our favorite part of the cruise was seeing the different shows they had available. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Really liked the different games that were available to play, like trivia, & tri-bond. Your staff were very helpful to us. We thank the Captain of this ship for getting us safely to our destination. There were days when the sea was very rough! Definitely would go on another cruise. The cabin steward, the waiter, waitress, bartender, and people from your photo gallery were very personal. We would like to thank each and every one of them especially the head waiter. He took the time to know your name and was very friendly! Thank you for making our first cruise very memorable!!Happy

good cruise with a few minor glitches by garaldcarr

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: North America

The favorite part of the cruise was the great Italian food.  Second was the entertainment.  One negative part of the cruise was the constant bombardment of very very loud music all over the ship at all hours.  The only thing I can figure out is that the entire crew is deaf.   Could not understand a single announcement because of the over modulated splatter.   The worst part of the cruise was the disembarkation.  They don't have a clue on how to organize an orderly departure.    No announcement or information for over an hour because of problems in clearing the ship.  When they finally did let us off there was no guidance just a mad scramble to the gangway.   Worst I have ever experienced in over 40 cruises.

We had an amazing trip in the Yacht Club on MSC Divina.  The food was great. Loved our butler and the Top Sail lounge was so peaceful. Loved the piano music at night with a decaf expresso!

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

OH- YES- WE HAVE ALOT OF FRIENDS THAT HAVE USED ROYAL CARIBBEAN FOR CRUISING.. US OURSELF HAVE BEEN ON A FEW TIMES- AND WE ENJOY IT EVERY MINUTE. I WOULD MOST CERTAINLY TELL OUR FRIENDS ABOUT YA ALL.

IMPROVEMENT::  YOUR GRADUTTIES CHARGE IS A BIT MUCH.  IT SHOULD BE A DAILY CAHRGE- NOT $ 13.95 PER PERSON PER DAY-- REALLY.. ( I CAN MAKE MY OWN BED -I WOULDNT HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THAT...) HOPEFULLY THERE CAN BE A CHANGE IN THAT --- THANK-YOU Love

Old ship but still has charm by great2be50

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

Favorite part of the cruise was the simplicity and ability to relax without alot of people. Days at sea were a great way to relax. Not alot to do those days but if you are a couple needing some much needed R/R this ship is for you. Least favorite, the variety of dining options and meal choices. Chops restaurant was great but a bit pricey for the amount of food served. Wait staff in both dining room and Chops was excellent and went out of their way to please the guests.

Good overall by rs4644

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

Shows were way above average. Food was way below average. The ceviche was horrible, nothing like what it should have been. They were always running out of bacon on the buffet and never restocking. Never had lemons they for tea or fish. Soups, other than the potato, were terrible, especially the lobster bisque. The tea tasted old and the lemonade was like water. The only really good meal I had was the pork loin at dinner.

Great cruise on Royal Caribbean to Key West & Cozamel by Sandee

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

We enjoyed the entire cruise from the ease of checking in to the quick departure from the ship at the end of the cruise.   The ship was very friendly in every way the passengers came on board to have fun!!  The entire crew was wonderful, caring, helpful and we loved our dining room waitress and her assistant, and the head waiters were great!!  The food was excellent with a wide variety on menu every night.  We noticed the ship was recently refurbished and very clean.  Our cabin attendant was very friendly and gave us 'Towel Animals' every night.  The activities on the ship in the evenings were excellent.  The shows were really great 10+++, we enjoyed every show.  The first show and the last evening show were spectacular!!   Our only disappointment was the small size of our cabin.

great small ship by js14390

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

we thought going on a smaller ship was a change from what we normally did .to our surprise there were no large crowds  at the pier. check in was fast and getting to the ship was easy. the ship staff were very friendly. the buffet was very good. and there were plenty of available seating. the room, an ocean view was small. and you could not bend down in the shower.( surprise) the room was cleaned ands ready very quickly. the shows were excellent. seating in the uper floor was poor. but on the main floor it was very good.dinners were very good and served quickly, but not too quickly. we enjoyed the ship and the 2 ports.. in all we would do it again

Disappointed in dining room food by kfwardrope

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

The Evening entertainment was great.

The cabin service was also very good

Service for embark and disembark was fine

No pier assistance in Mexico and hospitality kept insisting that my handicapped companion could walk!!!

The pool was always too crowded to swim.

The dining room food was very mediocre

Could not have a freshly made omelet in the Windjammer

I am very shocked by xiaoan200901

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

I am very shocked when I receive this invoice.

In Nov. 02, 2016, before we get off the ship, we paid $ 100.72.00 USD in cash on the ship and i also have the cash payment receipt. On the cash payment receipt, the Balance Due is 0.00.

Since we have never bought anything on the ship, I do not really understand how I can be charged for these following fees.

Can you please explain what are these (the records on my debt card)?

Oct. 31, 2016, Empress of  $ 8.31;

Oct. 31, 2016  Empress of $ 69.22;

Nov. 02, 2016 Empress of $ 61.89;

I do not know why you still charge me $139.42 CAD ($8.31+69.22+61.89) for above three transactions.

In addtion, when i purchase the ticket, i used my credit card to make the payment through the phone. After that, i have never use my debt card for any activities on the ship. How can you know all the information of my debt card and charge fees without noticing me?

I am just wondering what these are and how these things can happen? Could you give me an explain?

Regards,

Xiaoan Sun

Worst cruise I have ever taken! by esg1949

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Empress of the Seas / Destination: North America

With the exception of ease of boarding and leaving the ship, the cruise was the worst one I have ever taken.  As a birthday present for my wife, who requires a cabin from which she can see outside, said cabin, promised as "Partially obstructed," was totally obstructed unless one craned one's neck to look at the sea far below or the sky far above!  That was the beginning of the nightmare. The room service (largely nonexistent) was the worst I have ever experienced on this my fifth cruise.  The meals were limited in selection, the cabin was filled with diesel smell on two mornings, and the items one could take part in on the ship were poor, largely targeted for younger persons who liked to drink or otherwise carry on.  The fact that Halloween decorations were put up overnight and then left up for three days further contributed to the less than favorable environment.  The tour of the Mayan Ruins was interesting and factually insightful and the docent was first-rate.  In light of the above, a great disappointment and the experience will lead us to weigh carefully whether or not to use this cruise line again.
