Hawaii Cruise by RichardH9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

The ship was competently run and clean. I found the cost of shore excursions exorbitant and that they could be arranged by the customer conveniently and reasonable at ports of call. I would also suggest that NCL substitute a different port for one of the two stays in Lahaina, Maui.

Great relaxing cruise by BarbaraM27

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Island Princess / Destination: Hawaii

Our stateroom was very clean. The dining room was clean and beautiful. The atrium was fabulous. I was not completely satisfied with the food, some of the seafood I ordered was dry (ie the salmon) I would have also liked mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes offered more often. My mother ordered steak a few times and it was a little tough. But overall I was very satisfied with the cruise.

A great cruise to check out Hawaii by EdwardC1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Pride of Hawaii / Destination: Hawaii

I enjoyed the ship overall. Unfortunately, I was a younger guy and felt I connected more with the crew then the actually people. This cruise should be nicknamed the newlywed or the half dead cruise. I would not reccomend this cruise to young guys looking to have fun.

Beautiful ship. American staff/crew doesn't understand the meaning of service or doesn't care.

wonderful cruise by JudyH10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Pride of Aloha / Destination: Hawaii

The ship was clean; the staff and crew were friendly , helpful and very entertaining. I always set up my own excursions, but, the ports were perfect. The Captain did a 360 degree turn at night at the volcano, the only descriptive word is AWESOME. I've been on many cruises, this is my first time on NCL---it won't be my last. It ranks very high with one of the best cruises I've taken.

Mixed Feelings by DonnaF6

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

The ship was beautiful. The rooms were very functional but a little small. The food choices at breakfast and lunch were very adequate. The food choices at dinner were downright awful. Most of the time we were off the ship exploring an island all day. When we got back on the ship, there was no place to go to get a small snack other than the Cadilac Diner, which had awful choices and lines were out the door since they were the only place open. No place to get snacks from 2:30pm-dinnertime and no place after 9pm One station on the Aloha line could have been left open to get a slice of pizza or piece of fruit

Super cruise by BarryT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America / Destination: Hawaii

Our only previous cruise was on an ancient, tiny, dirty ship out of Florida to the Bahamas, so it was with some trepidation that we decided to cruise again. We're glad we did! Pride of America is state-of-the-art with a super crew, great food, and carefully planned shore excursions. We're looking forward to cruising with Norwegian again.

Worst Cruise Ever!! by CreightonN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

All of the following is negative: 1. No one escorts you to your stateroom 2. Found dirty green underwear in room as well as pills. 3. Took almost three hours for dinner in main dining room - did specialty resturants remainder of cruise, some at add'l cost. (Waiters did everything - understaffed.) 4. However, when booked specialty rest for Mexican, they changed menu w/o advising us to Italian even though they had room # and name. 5. Asked to speak to personnel, e.g. cruise director - no response. 6. Had Virus on board with over 100 passengers - only on last day was it announced. (Note: #4,5,5 reflect poor lack of communication among everyone incl captain.)

Ship maintenance poor. by MichaeleO

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

We enjoyed the different ports but the condition of the ship wasn't good. A pipe burst during the entertainmnt show one night and water poured through the ceiling. Also the TV in our cabin would not stay on and when it did it was in black and white. We reported the problem to the desk 3 times, a maintenance person showed up twice and the problem was not corrected. Water was turned off during the day and at night and when it did work the color of the water was brown. Food was okay. We have gone on several cruises and by far this was the most unpleasant.

Last five days were excllent by RonaldL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

We and friends felt the five days to & from Fanning Island was totally wasted time. To have spent the five days island hopping in the Hawaiian Islands would would have been perfered, or the five days traveling to & from west coast USA.

Norwegian Dawn 11/26/06 by CindyV5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

It's not that I didn't enjoy my vacation (after all I was in the Hawaiian Islands!), I just wish I had informed myself more about the cruise before booking. The Norwegian Dawn is a foreign ship. So we were required to make a foreign port during our cruise. This entailed docking in Fanning Island for a day, a two-day trip each way from Hawaii. Although a beautiful, primitive island, it wasn't worth losing time at other ports. I was also disappointed in their tendering operations. It was hard to get off the ship unless you were on an excursion. Then there were long lines returning. In addition, if you waited until the last few tenders, it took forever to get back on the ship. On Maui, returning from the Pacific Paradise Luau, we got off the bus before 8pm and were not back on the ship until after 9:15pm. Largely due to the fact that they kept our tender waiting in the water while they packed the previous tender and returned it to its spot in the life boats.

It was an old ship. by JuanR2

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

For the amount of money that we paid we should have been on a better ship. This ship needs plenty of repairs. The showers were very small and rusted. The yacuzzi weren't working. The smell of the rugs due to the water leak in the auditorium. I think that all these customers should be reimburse or given a free cruise to there choice.

A wonderful cruise, and excelent service by AlbertoR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

The cruise was very good and Fanning Island - Napal Beach is the best beach that I have ever been. We were at sea 2 1/2 days to get there and the same to come back but at least those days was the perfect time to rest and the service is A+. The only problem that I had is that we (My wife and I) didn't get tickets together in the airline after some time I made some changes with other people and we get together the almost 5 hours in the air. The cruise was Excelent with some problems the first day at the stardust inside the ship but the rest was great...

Sadly Disappointing by KathyR10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Zaandam / Destination: Hawaii

The cabin and food on the Zandaam were excellent. The ship is beautiful. The Cruise Director was mistakenly under the impression that because the passenger base was older that they didn't need much fun on the cruise out. It was boring beyond belief.

A GOOD CRUISE by AndyD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Pride of Aloha / Destination: Hawaii

THE ISLANDS MADE THE CRUISE WORTH THE MONEY. THE SHIP WAS WELL KEPT FOR AN OLDER SHIP. HOWEVER ,THE SERVICE RECEIVED IS NOT UP TO THE LEVELS ON OTHER CRUISES WE HAVE BEEN ON.THE DINING CHOICES WERE LIMITED.WE DID NOT LIKE THE FREESTYLE DINING.THE AMERICAN CREW IN MANY CASES DID NOT SEEM INTERESTED IN HELPING THE PASSENGERS AND DOING THEIR JOB.

Not for Seasoned Cruisers by AS10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Wind / Destination: Hawaii

We were very disappointed with this cruise. If we had no past experience with cruising it wouldn't have been quite so bad but with many cruises under our belts, we just wanted to get to the next port and see the sights.
