Excellent Itenerary by motox86

Ship: Pride of America

The NCL Pride of America is a popular choice for Hawaiian cruises, offering an excellent itinerary that visits multiple islands, allowing guests to explore the unique beauty of Hawaii without frequent unpacking. Here’s a quick review based on your experience: Pros: Perfect Itinerary: Covers the major Hawaiian islands, including Oahu, Maui, Kauai, and the Big Island, with plenty of time to explore onshore. Convenience: Embarking in Honolulu simplifies travel logistics. Hawaiian Ambiance: The onboard decor and activities reflect the local culture, enhancing the experience. Good Overall Service: Friendly staff and smooth operations. Cons: Outdated Rooms: The cabins might feel dated compared to newer ships, but they're still functional and clean. Limited Luxury Feel: It’s not a flashy cruise but more about the destinations. Overall: A solid choice for exploring Hawaii, with the itinerary being the standout feature. Updating the staterooms would make it an even better experience. Would you sail again on it?

We are here just for the Ports of Call! by charby71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America

We wanted to visit multiple islands of Hawaii and booked this cruise with friends. We loved the islands we visited and most excursions. Just do not judge the cruising industry and experience off of this cruise (if you book). It's just a nice floating hotel that delivers you to different islands. It's a smaller ship too so you will feel a lot of the seas and some other passengers were sick.

This was a great way to see the different islands. The ship was comfortable and never felt overcrowded even though it was a full ship.

Great trip by cewooten7674103

Ship: Pride of America

This cruise was a great way to see multiple islands of Hawaii without having to book lots of flights and keep moving a suitcase around to different hotels. All the destinations were great, and the ship was comfortable and good at providing all the necessities when it came to a room and food/drink.

Comfortable bed, great wait staff, many nice people, Hawaii, of course, is beautiful by rosannetadsen

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess

We enjoyed the ship, the food, the people, the entertainment. What I did not enjoy was the rough water that caused me to stagger from one handrail to the next. Of course, that is not Princess fault, but I will never again take a cruise that is so long and across open ocean.

Perfect way to see all the best parts of Hawaii without packing and relocating by ClevelandJD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America

The Pride of America was a joy as a suite cruiser. Priority embarking and disembarking, priority tenders, priority seating at shows, breakfast and lunch at a speciality restaurant, and a fabulous cabin made this an excellent experience.

An Unforgettable Experience Aboard the Pride of America! by jas111s

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America

I can confidently say that this was one of the best cruise experiences I've ever had! While some reviews may point out the ship's age, I can assure you that the Pride of America is in fantastic condition following its 2022 refurbishment. The ship looks fresh and vibrant, with updated decor and facilities that feel modern and comfortable. Any concerns about its age should be completely disregarded. This cruise offers a unique experience compared to other 7-night sailings. Yes, it may lack the vast entertainment options you might find on some other ships, but that's not the point of this cruise. Pride of America is a "Floating Hotel," providing you with an exceptional way to see and explore the stunning Hawaiian Islands. The focus is on the destinations, and this ship provides the perfect, comfortable means of travel between them. The food quality on the Pride of America blew me away. It was far superior to any post-COVID cruise I've taken with Royal Caribbean or even Disney Cruise Lines. Every meal was delicious, fresh, and creatively presented, with a wide variety of options to please all palates. The dining experiences were consistently outstanding, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure every meal was memorable. Speaking of the staff, they were simply incredible. From the moment we boarded to the final farewell, the crew was attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to make our cruise special. They were also impressively well-staffed compared to my recent experiences with other cruise lines, where staff shortages were noticeable. The crew on the Pride of America made us feel welcomed and cared for, ensuring our vacation was seamless and stress-free. If you're looking for an amazing way to explore the Hawaiian Islands, I wholeheartedly recommend the Pride of America. This ship exceeded my expectations in every way, offering great service, superb dining, and a unique focus on the beauty and culture of Hawaii. Don't hesitate to book this cruise – it's an experience you won't regret!

Beautiful by serevall

Overall enjoyed the cruise. Staff were polite and attentive. Food was typical for a buffet, specialty restaurants are a better choice. Excursions are abundant and the islands themselves are beautiful.

Islands: Great. Ship: Good. Food: Disappointing by pljohnsn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Pride of America

The islands are the stars of this show and the Pride gets you to four of them conveniently. If we did this again we'd downgrade the stateroom and pass on the specialty restaurant option.

Fun Kama'aina family trip by KM808

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Pride of America

From embarkation until the very end of the cruise, the ship's crew were friendly and helpful. Food was usually good or very good, with the exception of the Cadillac Diner, which was just OK. That food was a bit too greasy for my tastes, but it's the only real option after 9 PM. The ship had a few maintenance issues that affected our vacation, but we dealt with it the best we could. My request to NCL would be to keep at least one more restaurant open later to accommodate the guests who like to stay up late and/or return from a late shore excursion. Karaoke nights are also very popular, so do those every night. I feel sorry for the bartenders who need to listen to it though, but it kept the guests happy. Overall, a pleasant way to get a taste of three of the neighbor islands (Maui, Big Island - Hilo & Kona, and Kauai). I left off Oahu, because that is the start and endpoint, so you're free to add day(s) before and after the cruise.
