The Pride of America was a joy as a suite cruiser. Priority embarking and disembarking, priority tenders, priority seating at shows, breakfast and lunch at a speciality restaurant, and a fabulous cabin made this an excellent experience.
Embarkation

Having a suite we were met at the pier and walked through the entire experience with refreshments to greet us while we registered.

Food and Dining

The breakfasts at Cagney's for the suite guests were the highlight of the trip from a food perspective. Dinner at Jefferson's was very nice and the Brazil steakhouse did an excellent job. The main restaurants had good menu choices and excellent desserts. We didn't really go to the buffet except for snacks at off-hours.
Onboard Activities

Really enjoyed the painting class. Hot tubs were plentiful so not overcrowded. Didn't use the spa or fitness center.
Entertainment

The magician and comedian were both good. The ship's band was good as was the Hawaiian guitarist and the pop guitarist and piano singer.
Service and Staff

Our cabin attendant was excellent, the suite was always kept perfect. We didn't have a lot of need to call on the butler but he was helpful with dinner reservations. All restaurant staff were friendly and fast and accurate. Some of the best we've experienced at sea.
The best features from being in a suite were the priority tenders, disembarking, and show seating. Those were special treatments that we really appreciated.
Ship Quality

The ship is older but has been remodeled well. The size was perfect for this cruise. Everything was well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin suite was a highlight for us. It was spacious and well appointed with plenty of clothes storage and a lovely show/bath combination. The extra large balcony was wonderful and the extra touches like champagne for our departure for our anniversary and appetizer or dessert treats were enjoyed. One of the best amenities was the Nespresso maker. We enjoy that at home and really appreciated having that on the ship in our suite.
Ship tip
It is an early to bed, early to rise cruising group. Many are traveling from long distances with jet lag so the are up early and retire early after the shows which tended to finish no later than 9 or 10pm. This is not a ship for big night life. It was perfect for us as we enjoyed early evening activities and maybe a drink and some music a bit later because we were taking early shore excursions to make the most of seeing the island ports of call.
We arranged our own tours to see the canyon. We used the second day as a ship day since we were heading back to Kauaii for a few days after the cruise.
