We were left in Naples!!!! Horrible!!!! by LaurenM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Went to Capri when we docked in Naples. Bad seas though we had a wonderful 3 hours enjoying ourselves on this beautiful island. 3 ferries cancelled. We were denied access to the 3:25, 4:30, 5:10, 5:25 ferries. We took the 6:10 ferry and arrived at 7:00. The ship was leaving as we raced to get on. There was a call made and the crew new or the problems. It was tramatic and ruined out cruise.

Mediterranean Cruise by LvR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

It was a nice clean ship to begin with. This is not a children oriented cruise, but there were many of them. The excursions are pricey and not very worth it. Everything is included in price as far as food outside of drinks, ice cream, and room service. Very nice to have all announcements in every language needed. Itinerary is given at the end of every day for the next day's adventures. No real city information given if you do not go out on the boat excursion. Not very much time in some places even though it may be a huge city.

a new ship everyting was great, only thing missing was a exercise room, they put the equipment out on the deck with a minature golf area and a sky court, no privacy for a female to do her workouts

Mediterranean Cruise by Lynn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

I really didn't explore the entire ship. Because of the itinerary I was only on the ship at night. My balcony room was very nice and accommodated all three of us nicely. The buffet areas were very clean and well ventilated. I've been on ships where I avoided the buffet areas because there wasn't enough air flow and the smells were overwhelming. The casino was very nice and I didn't really have any issues with second hand smoke.

Great Cruise - Great Ship by RS2382067

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We were really impressed with this new ship. The added features were great and the service we received overall was very good. We enjoyed the new food stations, especially the burrito bar. It was the best food in the Lido area that I have experienced in all of my past cruises. There were plenty of selections and the quality was also very good. The implementation of the non smoking areas was also a vast improvement. The casino was virtually smoke free.

A must do Cruise by PeteS1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Our cruise on the Carnival Magic was all very positive. The ship making its 11th voyage to the Western Mediterranean ports was just a pure joy and educational experience. From the accommodations, the port-of-calls, the food, service and cleanliness of the ship were all very satisfying.

High hopes ... but it was only okay by SueS3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Magic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Carnival Magic was a not a magical ship - decor was okay. Spaces were confining. Layout was poor. Italian restraunt directly below the basketball court. We were the 11th sailing - ceiling already cracked and a recessed light fixture hanging from the ceiling. Dining room food was very good, other food on the ship was average buffet food. If you purchase a "pop" card, you must hunt someone or somewhere to use the option. Thirsty Frog Pub is fun. Entertainment on the ship is a mixed bag. Thirsty Frog pub has better entertainment than most of the other areas. Cruise director has tired old jokes - not cool to use the same jokes and stories repeatedly. Ship sailed past active volcano - very cool. Spouses first cruise and my second, spouse is not wanting to try another as felt value was so-so. No special features - no ice scupltures or carved fruit, no special frills or extras, just average.

Massive Epic but lacking in style by JudyC8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Epic is built like a tall massive building with a squared off tower lacking in style. The common areas and non-specialty restaurants are also lacking in style. Seems like NCL devoted much of the Epic spaces to cabin and retail store allocations instead of larger size common areas such as theatre, lounges, atrium, etc. in order to maxinmize profit. We had 2 balcony cabins and find the bathroom configuration a little strange. There's a curtain dividing the bathroom from the rest of the cabin. Behind the curtain, there are two separate frosted glass enclosures. One as a shower enclosure and the other for the toilet. The sink is adjacent to the shower enclosure and on the cabin side of the curtain. One can hear every noise coming from behind the curtain when the toilet or shower is in use. The only plus side is that each of the bathroom component can be used independently. The balcony cabin has plenty of storage space but not much room to get around. Non-specialty restaurant menus are not impressive offering mostly modest choices such as chicken, pasta and low quality steaks. Don't expect lobster or more expensive item choices offered by Royal Caribbean or Princess. Not impressed by their dessert menu...bad tasting as well. Service from staff members are hit or miss...some good ones and some bad ones. Le Cirque was outstanding but one has to pay. Blue Man group was not as good as the original. Make your entertainment reservations early as they get filled very quickly. Reservation is required for each entertainment. Overall, our Epic experience was just average and somewhat disappointing as we were expecting more from a brand new vessel.

Great cruise overall! by MikeB20

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Overall loved the cruise. Biggest downside was the room was very narrow and the layout was awkward. I think the pool area was great for people traveling with children or young teens. Wish there would have been more older teens on our cruise. I loved that there were no set seating times for dinner. Would have liked to have tried more of the specialty restaurants, however, all the 'extras' really add up fast making this itinerary very expensive!! Entertainment was excellent!!

For Families Only by JeanneM6

Ship is way too large too impersonal and the food mediocre. Definietely gearde to the family more than the couple or single traveler. Very noisy.
