Great cruise, with few disappointments. Room and Dining service was an outstanding experience. Some other services not. Internet must improve.

Great Mediterranean Cruise; However Customer Service Needs Improvement by cbirbal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Seaview / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

In general the cruise itself was great. Customer service for sit-down dinner is lacking. My waiter was terrible. In addition, upon arriving on the ship we were ambushed with staff selling us drink tickets, excursions. I think staff needs to relax, we will be on the ship for days and can figure out what drinks and excursions we want to go on as the days go by. I didn't like being ambushed as soon as I got on the ship- It distracts from the overall experience. The cabins are gorgeous and clean and the excursion experiences were great.

Amazing Time Sailing the Mediterranean by outdoortim

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Symphony of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Simply wonderful. We enjoyed all of our excursions, the entertainment on the ship, and time together as a family. Our favorite spot on the boat was the solarium, where we enjoyed the hot tub and pool for adults only. We also loved the jazz club and really enjoyed the 80s party that was thrown one night. The food was excellent, and the drink package worked out well for our family. Overall we had a really wonderful trip and I would definitely recommend royal Caribbean cruises to friends and family.

Loved the Greek islands by rasmussenspi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Riviera / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Beautiful stops, but many were overcrowded so traveling in Sept/Oct might be better than July. We used the Oceania excursions in most ports and the tour guides were excellent. Cavtat was a beautiful harbor and Rhodes was less crowded with great shopping. We were surprised to learn about the way the grapes grow in Santorini and the white wine was quite good.

horrible experience by imvtax55198856

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Poor AC, hot drinks, 90% of the personnel was very rude and treated us really bad, i made a reservation for dinner on monday night july 2 which was the formal night we were a group of 11 and most of the women in our group were wearing heels, we waited 40 minutes and then they sent us to Geovannys which we were not in the mood for italian food that nigh but the hostess forced us to go telling us that we should be glad that we had a table for free in that restaurant then we walked and took the stairs to the next level (with heels) , the server there was rude and racist and made weird jokes and made us feel uncomfortable, he appoligized at the end but it was too late, drinks were charged to our rooms at the begining and we had to make a couple of trips to fix it this is my 7 cruise 3rd with royal caribbean and never had such horrible experience , we were a group of 11 and each one of us had adifferent bad experiences either the bars, lounges, teens club etc . On the other side food was great, good cheffs good flavor and the room attendant was good too

Epic - good itinerary on the Mediterranean by natho17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The Garden Café buffet was outstanding, a big highlight. It's a very clean café/buffet place, the food was delicious, the ice cream machine was empty only once (compared to most days on other companies...), the dining room was fantastic too (Manhattan Club). We did not try the fancy $$ eateries. - NCL application doesn't work onboard epic - A/C in unit 8149 not functioning correctly took 4 attempts to get maintenance to replace a broken actuator (day 6!!) which caused the problem, it went from being an oven to a freezer with no middle ground. That put a BIG DAMPER on the enjoyment of our stay... esp. when you do want to spend time in cabin b/c that's where you can find quiet... - one pool area not enough for 4100 passengers - poor access to even / odd rooms (not enough cross passage access) which requires long walks to get to the correct side. - walking / running track is limited compared to many other ships, this one is on lower deck which loops on port side or starboard side (doesn't go around whole ship as is normally the case), the kitchen exhaust side was very unpleasant to walk on! - balcony stateroom was small and cramped and bed length is short even for a person of height 5' 10". - balcony area was quite rusty showing the need for maintenance / painting

All about the itinerary... by Lizzieanne771

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I really try to be a positive person, and overall I enjoyed the cruise - but I think it's because of the ports more than anything. I saw a dramatic slip in the general interactions of the crew with guests and the food (not just for gluten-free needs but in general) on Royal Caribbean since I last cruised them on Brilliance of the Seas 2 years ago. Back to Disney Cruise Line in the future for me.

Good Med Cruise by ramoncastro

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

For someone that has cruised this same ship 3 times the entertainment hasn't changed, but rather it gets poorer. The first time there was an improv everynight and now there is not. The restaurant (can't remember the name) next to the bowling alley has terrible service and no one cares. The cabin has problems: the toilet would not flush and the shower would not drain. Other than that the cruise was very good. We happened to be on at the time of the world cup and it was pleasent to watch it, and the food there was good.

A week in the Mediterranean by hearttocruise

Over all, we would give this cruise 4 1/2 stars. It wasn't perfection, but it was better than a lot of our past cruises.

Great Mediterranean Cruise. A Few Fine Touches for Silversea to Fix. by J1C1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Silver Muse / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Overall excellent cruise and experience. A few issues that could be refined to deliver a consistent experience. They must develop a plan to deal with children that are not properly behaved and parents that are not able to acknowledge or control their children's disruptive behavior.

Fantastic Cruise! by ChrisSLP25

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Everything about the cruise was great from start to finish. Embarkation was fast and easy. Getting to the ship from the train wasn't that easy. There was a Celebrity cruise person there that would take us by bus for 2 Euros per person. I seriously wish we had done that. We made it on eventually though. The ship was fantastic. Very clean, modern, and updated. We felt the staff was first and foremost the best part of Celebrity. Everyone we encountered remembered our names and bent over backwards to make us eel special. We truly enjoyed the company of the staff. The food was also superb! We felt that the quality of the food alone was reason to return as well. We loved the presentation and attention to detail, but above all the food itself was tasty and fresh. There was always something for everyone at the table to enjoy no matter what your taste or preference was. The cruise was organized well and we felt that the ship ran like a well-oiled machine. There really wasn’t any downside. We felt the entertainment was lacking a little bit, but not enough to deter us from not booking a cruise on this ship again. The entertainers themselves were great; the talent of the entertainers was definitely there. We just thought the shows themselves were lacking. Perhaps doing a rendition of a shortened Broadway show would have been better than just singers singing random songs from Broadway. They were great, but there wasn’t really a show it was just people singing songs, at least in our opinion. We loved the comedian Phil and the guest act Flyboys. Both were unique and we loved seeing them and would see them again in the future. We also really enjoyed the Solarium and adult only section of the ship. That was probably our favorite part of the ship! Everything was so clean and we appreciated the effort to keep the ship sanitary. The bathroom attendants were great and I loved the buttons to open the doors and the effort to keep paper towel use at a minimum with rolled cloth towels was very classy. Attendants would clean the bathrooms frequently and hand sanitizer was enforced before entering each dining area as well as before you returned onto the ship from port. I would love if there were a decrease in the use of plastic straws. We felt that they were unnecessary, but we applauded Celebrity’s dedication to recycling efforts throughout the ship. The captain was Greek and had a sense of humor about him. Disembarkation was smooth and flawless. We used the overpriced Celebrity bus shuttle to the airport because we didn't want any hassles and it was very easy. No hiccups at all. Ports of call were excellent. We loved every single place we visited. We mostly did things on our own based on prior research. We booked excursions privately for the most part. We did a transfer to Taormina because we were afraid about getting back on time. The time was really on 2, 2.5 hours in Taormina for $65. Not the best, but they did make a note when I complained to the shore excursion desk. The other was Athens tour of Acropolis and the Lake. This ended up being such a fantastic excursion! We loved the relaxation of the lake after sweating in the hot sun on top of the Acropolis. The guide and bus driver were also fantastic! Shore excursions were a little overpriced, but overall happy we did them. Highly recommend this vacation. You won't be disappointed.

Mediterránean cruise from Rome by ajsmom4407

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Norwegian Epic - The cruise ship was massive .. the first part of our cruise was great .. not many people we didn’t have to wait or fight for pool chairs and the boys got on the water slide and would run and get right back on them again .. no wait .. but in Barcelona a whole new cruise began and everything was reset. Pictures on our account, etc.. we noticed they had a celebration pool side to commemorate the beginning of the cruise .. for those clients (we did not have that). At Barcelona they picked up more people and then the ship was full.. at capacity. A couple people in our group of 25 people were ignored at the pool bar. They served everyone around them even people that walked up after them. This was extremely upsetting. .. we were grateful that we only had to endure that for 2 days (our cruise was almost over) .. Pros to the cruise ship ... tons of entertainment!!! Always something going on!!! lots of bars with live nightly entertainment, lots of places to eat included in the package in addition to the gourmet Restaurants that were extra. They had an over 21 area with bars and tables alone with a pool and pool lounge chairs and large screen (like the one where we watched movies on celebrity) .. they watched the World Cup games there during the Day and movies at night .. They had casino table games and slots and had games (boxes) going for the World Cup games. They had bingo games where you could win $2,000 or a 7 day cruise. Lots for the kids to do by the pool and the kids club was amazing .. the kids did not want to be picked up. They had a game room with tables and board games which our kids enjoyed too. And of course the WiFi cafe with book cases with books to borrow to read during the cruise. The cruise staff were great... minus the bartenders at the oool bar after Barcelona Cons - Food was okay .. not bad but not celebrity food. WiFi that was included was only 250 minutes not unlimited WiFi .. it was horrible .. had to pay for the better WiFi and one day it was totally down. Not like celebrity. We booked a balcony because I these cabins are usually more comfort. Not the case on this shop. The cabins were small for the number of people .. really tight. We had a beverage package but couldn’t get a bottle water or soda. We would get cups .. if we wanted bottled water we had to buy it. We did have water on the juice bar so we refilled our water bottles there.

The Jewel is an older ship, but well kept. The crew was fabulous and the food was good, although not terribly creative. Excursions were well planned. Overall I would do another cruise on this shIp.

Be prepared to be under impressed by kateeaf323

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Star / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Norwegian wants to nickel and dime everything. Food was awful. Hospitality was zero! Most ports were tinder and it was a two to three hour ordeal to leave the ship. Each post was almost 4 hours, by the time you got off and had to wait in line to get on the ship again. We had a private photographer booked for our 15year wedding anniversary, and they would not allow us to leave slightly early to make our appointment for Santorini. We ended up missing our appointment, no one from management cared. There were no feminine hygiene products that were available in case of an emergency!
