Very nice, we enjoyed ourselves! Although it sometimes felt very crowded (can't remember the same from prevous cruises).

Nice Cruise, Very Hot, New Ship by JulieR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Breeze / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

New ship but had a number of issues that were still being resolved while on the boat. Extremely noisy stateroom. We were moved to this location after adding 2 family members despite warnings about the noise problems in this area of the 6th floor area. Itinerary is very exhausting. Ports are often far from the prime locations (90+ min each way) so spend more time being transported than enjoying locations. Entertainment in some cases was a bust i.e. used fake names to make jokes and hypnotist was a farce. Endless jokes about late passengers (the Hoffman's) and many on the ship felt this was another fake name and couple as proven with the sketch. Have special dietary needs and dining room was extremely accommodating. This did not carry through when needed to use other dining rooms i.e. lunch and early breakfast.

A Great Trip- But Oh, the NOISE ! by RobertP19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

The breeze is a beautiful vessel, new- we had a \"cove balcony\" stateroom- which was being shared by 3 adults- really a bit tight with closet space, etc- better if just two in this room.

Wouldn't bother with MSC again by TheresaH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Musica / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

There are too many cruise lines on the market for me to ever want to experience MSC again. I found the majority of the staff to be discontent with their jobs and it was pretty obvious. They really could use a technical upgrade to cut down on all of the announcements they make in so many different languages as I was probably woken up from my siesta at least four times by the ding dong sound of an upcoming announcement. I found the front desk staff to be quite annoying but I tried to not let it get to me. Many people on the ship complained about a multitude of problems they were having and although I also experienced many things wrong I followed through and made sure they were corrected and moved on. It does get tiring though. One of the best things I purchased was an all inclusive drink package which I heard of through Cruise Critic and which was an invaluable savings. That also needed some explaining to the staff most of whom had never heard of this package before. This was my fourth cruise and my first where I had a balcony room and I would never cruise without a balcony room again. It was a fantastic addition.

Mixed review by BarryMerrill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Buffet food was mediocre and the hot food was luke warm. Excursions for the most part were not that great. Many excursions wasted much time getting ready and traveling, limiting time at the site. Ibiza sunset excursion was terrible; we were dropped off in the town center without a clue whereto go to see the sunset. Cruise crew and staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

A classics-lovers dream by InnaK

This was my third cruise and by far the best. The ship was large and there were many different areas and activities--a fitness center, an outdoor track, a rock climbing wall, though the pools did leave something to be desired. The ship was clean and the crew was very friendly. As for food--the main dining room staff was terrific and incredibly accommodating. I have certain dietary restrictions (gluten) and I was excited to see that the menu marked which items were gluten-free, but this turned out to be not always correct. So if you have lactose/gluten issues, just make sure to ask your waiter and I'm sure they'll help you out. The buffet was also good and I was able to ask the staff there questions about the food. When those were closed, the ship had a cafe with satisfactory food options. Otherwise, all food had to be paid for. The reason I chose this cruise was due to its ports-of-call. As a classicist, I was eager for stops in Athens, Ephesus (port is called Kusadasi), and Mykonos (from which a ferry can be taken to Delos). It was great to go to these places and I took the ship's organized excursion at Ephesus which was pretty good. The other ports were also excellent--especially Santorini. All the stops were unforgettable experiences (except Bodrum, which was so-so).

Nice price, marginal experience by TammyS4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Splendida / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I have been on a number of cruises and this one was a disappointment. This ship itself was very beautiful and new but the layout was terrible. None of the non-stateroom decks went all the way through so you had to go up and down all the time to find things. The service was marginal and there were extra service charges for everything from ice cream and desserts to room service. The children's program was "included" in the cost but very disorganized; we never did find a person around who could help actually register our kids even though there were a lot of kids on the ship. Usually the food is one of the best parts about a cruise, but the food on this ship was adequate at best. The buffet was awful and the formal dining room was only "ok". The formal nights were a disappointment as they didn't enforce the dress code; there were actually people in the dining room on the formal nights wearing jeans and shorts. Probably the biggest concern I had was safety. In light of recent issues with cruise ships sinking I was shocked that on a 7 day cruise we didn't have a lifeboat drill until the LAST night on the ship.
