The cruise was a great experience on how other parts of the world live and how they got started hundreds of years ago. Fun on shore and fun on the ship for a great trip. Better evening shows would be a great thing to look foreword to in the evening. The airline lost one of four bags we checked but with constant checking by the cruise line the stray bag caught us at the third port. I wish I had been all the places that bag went. The hamburger and French fry stand on deck nine by the pool was the best place for lunch.

Sunshine Fun by Adral

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I had a great time the cruise was marvelous and the excursions were superb. The hospitality of the ships crew was amazing. The apprearance of the ship, and the food was awesome, however some of the entertainment was boring and not at all what I expected. I expected more adult entertainment , such as a club for the adults to go dancing at night. The Karoke bar was mostly country western. Several adults danced in the atrium after attending the shows or while waiting to attend the shows. I have always loved the shows and the dancers were great.

Carnival Sunshine 12 day Europe by hawaiijos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Pros: We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and we were excited about the renovation of the Sunshine. The stops are amazing and since Carnival is not doing a Europe season next year this was the last chance we had to for the next few years unless we chose another line. We had a blast off the ship. Europe is incredibly easy to get around. You can get a train to anywhere you want to go and it's cheap. Rome was our favorite stop along the way. The family friendly comedy was good and the game shows were really fun (nice choice to partner with Hasbro). Trivia is always entertaining. Guy's burger joint NEVER disappoints. I eat there at least twice on every cruise. Best burger you will ever eat. I have never been disappointed by staff on any Carnival cruise and this was no exception. They were all polite and professional and did a great job. I had an aft view extended balcony room and that was the best deck I've ever had. I fear I am ruined for any other kind of balcony room now and will pay through the nose the rest of my life lol. The last sea day we watched pods of dolphins playing in the wake of the ship. Cons: It's port intensive which can be exhausting if you get off at every port (we did). While most of the ship was upgraded there are still some issues (my travel partner had a gigantic stain on her carpet and there were multiple buckets in the hallways catching leaks so apparently the upgrade didn't include the pipes which seems really silly to me). For the first time ever the food in the main dining room disappointed. Found a bone in some chicken soup and we were served off of dirty plates one night. We normally look forward to all sorts of deliciousness (which we got a lot of the time) but by the end we were tired of it. Some of it was downright gross (hollandaise on the eggs was a skin instead of a sauce - we sent it back twice). The punchline comedy brunch was not entertaining at all. The comic came up, asked a few diners some questions, and left. We were still sitting there waiting for the comedy 5 minutes later when we realized it was over. Serenity Area needs to be managed. People are pigs and would literally sleep up there overnight to "reserve" space for the next day. Carnival needs to set up some kind of system so more than 40 guests on a 12 day cruise get to enjoy it (and this is fleetwide). The same people were up there every day hogging it. Oddly, the layout of the ship itself is confusing. We are seasoned cruises who usually have any layout memorized in a few hours since they are all sort of the same. Day 10 I was still looking for places and kept having to consult the map to figure out where things were (made more complicated by the similar names of places - has both the Liquid and the Limelight Lounge which are on opposite sides of the ship). Overall, with some minor issues, it was a fabulous trip. You wont be able to take this cruise next year so not sure how helpful this will be to future travelers but the Sunshine will sail other places too.

Great time with super destinations by Dontwanttogohom

Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We really enjoyed our cruise. We were well taken care of aboard ship and had lots of fun ashore. The Royal Princess is a great ship and while large, we were able to do what we wanted.

A fun cruise with mediocre service and food by Lovetotravel2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Magica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The itinerary was excellent. The service was ok. The dining areas around the pool were pretty dirty. They never seem to wipe down the tables. We never knew the name of our steward. He never introduced himself. The tipping is awesome. 7 euros a day. A great deal. Food was ok. Definitely caters to Europeans. Two choices for dinner: assigned dining hall or self serve pizza. No buffet option except for breakfast. All inclusive adult beverage is totally worth it!

EXCELLENT SERVICE, FRIENDLY STAFF, WONDERFULL SHIP AND GOOD FOOD WITH LOTS TO DO AND LOST OF ENTERTAINMENT - WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK? PROBABLY LESS SHORE EXCUSIONS NEXT TIME TO SPEND MORE TIME OF THE SHIP!

Fine Experience Overall by Bbishop01

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The Norwegian Epic Mediterranean cruise overall was a good experience. Staff members on board the ship were excellent!! We really enjoyed meeting, talking, and finding out things about them and their lives on and off the ship. They were always courteous, professional, and ready to serve. The food was ok. At times it was very good and some dishes were rather bland and uneventful. I did like the fact that we had to pay an extra $2.50 for fresh squeezed orange juice or regular sodas. The entertainment was not good. We struggled to find something that was worth seeing that was complimentary. Ports of call was good and the disembarking process went very smooth.

Celebrity Reflection by Sandystrip

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Reflection / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Though we encountered several other cruises during our trip The Reflection was the largest ship we saw. Many of the crew members were friendly, however the overall experience lacked any sort of personal touch and the services felt mass produced and impersonal. In many ways it felt like staying at a mid-range casino on the Las Vegas Strip rather than a luxury experience.

30th anniversary celebration by Ptownevans

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Excellent cruise. Not for first time cruisers. Up early every day to explore the great ports. Rome in July is really crowded, keep that in mind. Amalfi coast is spectacular. Monaco a big positive surprise. Spend extra days in Barcelona, such a FANTASTIC city, we spent 6 extra days there and LOVED it. Food on cruise was ok, not great.

Great Experience with Carnival Sunshine by inuchkee2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Sunshine / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We have never cruised with Carnival before and were a little bit wary however Carnival Sunshine was great. The service was great, the food was great and our cabin was wonderful as well. The comedians and the main entertainers were very entertaining. There were little things we did not love but it would not stop us from going on Carnival again. Didn't love the layout of ship. We also felt that the buffet was delicious however there were not many choices. It was limited. And they close it down at 9:30pm and there are not many places left to eat after that unless you want pizza every night. The magician and mind reader weren't that great, But overall the cruise was fabulous.

Great experience for taste of Europe by Jacksnanaandpap

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We enjoyed being able to see 5 countries at a quick pace and then retreat to the ship at end of day. Ship was on the old side but not an issue for us. Entertainment was lacking but the overall price of cruise was really worth it.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship is in great shape, it has been refurbished about 6 months ago. We stay in a Family Room 8502, it was big and have space for 6 people. The dinning was good, the pay restaurants was Great. WE have 1 time Chops Grill, and 2 times Izumi. The ports of Call was great, with plenty fo time to see Monte Carlo, Florence, Capri, Rome, Venice, Dubrodnik, We are a family with small children (12, 8, 5), the ship have a lot of things to entertain them. Even is a big ship 2,400 ghest, we never made a line for anything. Great expirience

NCL EPIC European Review by Epiccruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We stayed on the EPIC for a Med cruise the last week in June 2013. We booked the Haven Suite 17027. Don't book this room. It is directly under a sundeck and staircase. Every morning at 6:30 AM we were awoken by the crew un-stacking lounge chairs and dragging them around the sun deck. At 10 PM the deck in closed, but not locked. Teenagers hang out there unsupervised to all hours of the morning running around and the noise keeps you up until 3 AM. If you book the French restaurant, make sure the circus isn't going on above you. It is like you are eating in a bomb shelter is it is. Literally the tiles will fall off the ceiling while eating.

Disappointing Cruise line by gregwin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Epic / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

The ship was nice, the room great, the organization for embarking and disembarking was great. Was nickel and dimed!!! 10 restaurants were pay for vs. 4 that were part of the cruise. Since there was not set time for lunch dinner, don't see the same staff thus there is no relationships which made the service really sub par. Even the room person was not that friendly. I have been on about 8 cruises and this one had poor service and food. Even 1 of the "Pay" restaurant's food was subpar. Staff get auto tipped thus service was poor. I would not recommend this cruise.

Wonderful Family Cruise by CruisinGrandma

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We traveled as a family of 12, ranging in age from 8 to 74. The ship had activities for all ages. Our 8 year old especially enjoyed the Explorers Club and took part in all their activities. The rock climbing wall, ice skating rink and in line skating were also a hit. I was disappointed that there was not "formal tea" in the afternoon. That was one of my favorite activities on other cruise lines. We had a negative experience sending our bag of dirty clothes to the " $25.00 laundry". Many items came back about 3 sizes smaller! But all in all it was a fabulous trip and I would recommend it to anyone.

Life changing experience by HeatherJ10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

This was my first cruise and I never knew how great it would be until this cruise and I have already booked my next cruise. The service, price and whole experience was so wonderful. I have stayed in a lot of hotels and never had an experience even close to being on a cruise. Five stars for sure.

Great Cruise & Experience by RPULLEY

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Silver Wind / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The ship was well maintained, the people were personable and the food was great. They had several different restaurants on board with different themes, so you could cater to almost any craving. We truly enjoyed the different ports, and for the most part, enjoyed enough time in each location. I would not recommend the helicopter rides. We did one in Monte Carlo & Barcelona, and both were very disappointing. One took 10 minutes versus the advertised 20 minutes, and the pilot never spoke a word. The other helicopter ride wasn't much better. Don't waste your money or time. The other excursions were great though.
