excellent and busy Croatia and Greece cruise by hdejonge

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The service and people on the ship were overall very good in their service, attitude, and performance, especially in the dining room, the spa, and the lounges. The food was excellent, especially dinner in the main dining room. Their nightly entertainment was very high quality and displayed tremendous talent. The boat hard a hard time handling the crowds at lunch and breakfast with many time no tables for the guests in the Windjammer café, (the main place for these meals). They also seemed to have a hard time handling the guests leaving and returning to the boat when tendered with long delays and lines being the norm. Several times we barely made it to our excursions or returned to the boat on time before they left. Overall a very nice cruise with great scenery and rich history to absorb. Unless you just want to veg on the boat then be prepared for an active and busy time-makes the evening dinner and activities more rewarding!

First time to Greece! by macocca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Seven Seas Voyager / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Luggage was lost for five days which caused a lot of complications but the trip was well worth it. Beautiful ports of call, Ancient Olympia a must excursion. We plan to revisit Montenegro in the future as well!

The worse cruise experience on MSC Simfonia by nadiasheibani

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The worst cruise experience ever, I have sailed over 20 cruises with Royal, Carnival, 1 Costa and 1 MSC prior to this MSC. We had a good experience on the Poesia from Ft. Louderdale and thought this will be the same. 1. The food is the worse from any cruise ship we have been on. No steak, no Lobster, smelly shrimps, salty fish. 2. Never heard of WATER packages before, to pay for tap water is insane. The first thing they bring you at the restaurant is a jug of water with ice. Here you have to pay for water or carry a bottle with you that you can fill on deck and walk with it to the restaurant. This is a NO on any cruise. If you want you can pay for bottled water but for tap water at a restaurant is unacceptable. 3. The toilet did not flush correctly for the first 3 days on board, fixed at least 2 and worked on the 3rd time. The cabin steward was amazing though. He did everything he could do and the room was always clean and tidy. 4. No towel kiosks at the pool, you stay with your wet soaking towel till the end. New towels brought in to the room every night. 5. We thought it was a mistake to be in Mykonos from 8 pm to 3 am in the morning, instead of splitting the day/night between Santorini and Mykonos, and half day in Dubrovnik. It made more sense to skip Ancona where there is nothing to do and spend 1 full day in Santorini, Mykonos and Dubrovnik. It's a Italian port city and few people embark there. Horrible port of call. 6. Each announcement is in 7+ languages and to listen and sit thru that is just horrible, everyone complained, usually it's English and the ships own language here Italian, maybe add Spanish but not to have all these languages. No more MSC for me for sure and won't recommend this ship and itinerary to any one I know.

This is Italian! by tans444

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Lirica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Food was beautifully presented but was bland. A real shame! The waiters were super attentive! Cabin crew were so friendly and could not do enough to please us passengers. The buffet was always so crowded and people pushed and shoved and and finding a table free was almost impossible. Too many passengers for too little space at Buffet

Staff wonderful. Entertainment and ship activities horrible. by laurae805

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Sinfonia / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The food and staff of the Sinfonia were very good. They remembered us and what we liked. The onboard activities were lacking for people our age. If we were able to go to all of our locations it probably would not have mattered but we had 2 days at sea that were not planed and did not get to Mykonos. The evening shows were really bad.

Beautiful destinations, Costa Luminosa, eh.. by Dreifuerst7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Costa Luminosa / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The ship itself was nice, clean, couple pools and 4 hot tubs accommodated everyone. Very large ship, a lot of bars. Few complaints: the food is below average and buffet style, very repetitive, no change, for breakfast( my favorite and most important meal), if you want typical eggs pancakes sausage bacon, have to pay addionally for that and even that was below average. Same as lunch and dinner, buffet wasn’t good at all. WiFi cost money, no Internet cafe for free. I went with 2 friends, the cleaning service did a good job cleaning, we were not aware we were charge $10 each day, all 3 of us. $70/per to clean our room? For that price we would of cleaned it ourselves if we knew.. We also felt very uninformed on this cruise, I personally feel Costa suck with marketing and making their customers aware of all the options they have to offer. Probably would never cruise with Costa again.

Costa Europe on the Luminosa by joep3351006

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Costa Luminosa / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The Costa boarding process in Venice was terrible. There was a massive amount of people standing in a warehouse waiting for their group number to be called. There were simply not enough Costa employees. We waited in line for 1 1/2 hours. On our first night we were told by our waiter that he could not serve us an alcoholic drink. We had to retrieve our own drinks from a bar on the ship. I found it less than funny that the bar next to the dining room was closed during dinner. We were also unclear why you could only get black coffee after dinner since this same dining room serves breakfast with coffee, cream and sugar. We have been on 7 cruises (this was our first Costa) and we have never seen so many people fighting over so few seats on the 9th deck. One day we actually had to take our lunch plates back to our cabin after circling the deck for 20 minutes. Forget going to the Hospitality Desk to get an a straight answer to any questions. After being told 3 different times to return to the desk for assistance I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was told they wouldn't come out to speak with me. The desk staff would not even give me their name. We had a great vacation. Our room steward Mark was great, our waiter Saber was also very good. Our excursions were all fun and I felt a good value. We learned valuable lessons for selecting future cruises in Europe.

This was my first costa cruise. From my experience with costa, Positive: great w/ food allergies, great entertainment, great food. Negative: lack of organization during embarking and desimbarking, stained bath towels.

Not the Cruise that we expected by maryloucarino

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Viking Star / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The first week on board was okay until starting December 2, we had a "hot water" problem in our cabin, which persisted until December 6. This problem ruined the whole cruise. I was stressed out not knowing if I could shower or not. They said (Receptionist Desk) that Los Angeles Office was made aware of this, but to date nobody has contacted me yet about our misfortune in this particular cruise. Also, we felt there some kind of discrimination when being served compared to faired skin passengers.

Great itinerary but that's it. by orionch1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

I will not be using Costa again, I don't feel like it is the right cruise line for our family. We loved the ports and some of the staff was very friendly but unfortunately, the ones that were not outnumber them.

One of our best cruises. Great itinerary, excellent food and wine, friendly ship staff. Look forward to our next Viking cruise, a Viking river cruise in Portugal and another ocean cruise in 2019.

Very disappointing cruise! by wendy9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Musica / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

First and last time on MSC! I have been on 35 cruises and this was a joke, MSC needs to invest in the quality and food selection. Food and ports are the big draw for cruisers.
