a two day cruise to nowhere by HarriettT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was a 2day cruise to nowhere out of New York .the food on this ship was excellent.I loved the layout on this ship much better that any of the other carnival ships. They have a floor on this ship called dream street and on this floor they have the casino, shopping and the nightclubs;they also have on this floor a wrap around lanai that includes 2 hot tubs overlooking the sea,They do not have enough public space for the amount of peoplr on board esp. on the lido deck.

Beautiful ship, lots of people by LorraO

Ship: Oasis of the Seas / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This ship is beautiful and has great details. It is a great ship for families and people who want to visit Vegas at sea. I would not recommend it for a relaxing vacation. Cabins are VERY small so pick your layout carefully for best use of space. The crew seemed distant and not too happy to be working on the world's largest cruise ship. Cupcake Cupboard was wonderful and well worth the $2.50/cupcake price. Too much Indian food in the buffet. The water show, Oasis of Dreams, will be phenomenal.

CARNIVAL GETTING BETTER, I THINK NOT by LloydS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Dream / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

CARNIVAL DREAM 2 DAY CRUISE TO NOWHERE. I HAVE NOT BEEN ON A CARNIVAL SHIP IN ABOUT 15 YEARS, USUALLY TRAVLE ON NCL, OR ROYAL CARIBBEAN, AND USUALLY PLEASED WITH THE LEVEL OF SERVICE. I HEARD THAT CARNIVAL HAD IMPROVED ON FOOD QUALITY, AND SERVICE LEVELS, SO I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY THIS BRAND NEW SHIP FOR TWO DAY CRUISE TO CELEBRATE OUR ANNIVERSARY. USUALLY CRUISE LINES PUT THEIR BEST CREWS ON THEIR NEW FLAGSHIPS, IF THIS IS CARNIVAL'S BEST, I FEEL SORRY FOR THE PASSENGERS ON THEIR OTHER SHIPS. EMBARKATION WAS A NIGHTMARE, MADE US SIT AT PIER FOR THREE HOURS BEFORE THEY LET US ON SHIP. DID NOT GET ON AND TO OUR CABIN BEFORE 4:30PM, AT WHICH TIME WE WERE STARVING AND COULD ONLY HAVE A BUFFET ON THE LIDO DECK. AT THIS TIME OF DAY, IT BASICALLY RUINED OUR DINNER. MEALS WERE NOT PREPARED ACCORDING TO ORDER, HAD TO SEND BACK, WAS KEPT UP ALL NIGHT BY DRUNKEN TEENAGERS IN THE CABIN ACROSS FROM US, WHO NOT ONLY KNOCKED ON OUR DOOR AT 2:30 IN THE MORNING, BUT AFTER SECURITY ATTEMPTED TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE CONTINUED TO BE LOUD ALL NIGHT. SPA SERVICES WERE NOT AS DESCRIBED, AND VERY UNSATISFACTORY. ALL I HEARD FOR TWO DAYS WAS I AM SORRY. THE CREW SEEMED TO KNOW HOW TO APOLOGIZE, HOWEVER NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO APPROPRIATELY REMEDY, AND OR COMPENSATE PASSENGERS FOR AN INFERIOR EXPERIENCE. AFTER COMPLAINING TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE ON BOARD, THEY OFFERED ME A 15% CREDIT, WHICH AMOUNTED TO $135 ON A $1000 BILL. THIS WAS PATHETIC. WHEN YOU ARE KEPT UP ALL NIGHT ON FRIDAY, YOUR DAY ON SATURDAY IS BASICALLY RUINED, AND AT 7:15AM ON SUNDAY THEY ARE THROWING YOU OFF THE SHIP. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ON A CRUISE WHERE THEY WERE ASKING YOU TO GET OFF AT 7:15AM, AND WANTED THE SHIP CLEARED BY 9AM. BREAKFAST DID'NT EVEN SEEM TO BE AN OPTION. SHAME ON YOU CARNIVAL.

Nice Cruise by ShannonD1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Triumph / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

My only complaint is about boarding the ship in New Orleans. We waited in line for a half hour to get in the building, about an hour to get through security and at least 2 hours to get to an agent. This was not a good start. Everyone was very friendly and helpful when you reached their area, but the wait was still too long.

Ship: Carnival Ecstasy / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The weather was horrible. Could not get any info regarding the weather. Not enough to do on ship. Getting off the ship was very disorginized and delayed over 2 hours. Food was ok. Can get alot better a home. I will never go on this ship again and I may not ever take a cruise again. At least not for along time!!!!!!

Form over Substance by ReginaA1

Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

The Jewel is a beautiful ship. The wood grains were awesome and the immediate greeting with Champagne was AWESOME. I thought my vacation was off to a fine start. Unfortunately, once I was in my room, the expectations were turned upside down. My room had two inches of dust, leftover trashcans from the prior guest and only one set of towels for my husband and I. (We like to take 2 showers a day and needed more towels). We asked for additional towels and they were collected when the cabin steward came to do the turn down service. We had to ask several times for towels. I guess they were having a laundry problem and towel shortage. Maybe that's why there were no towel animals. We preordered a cake and it was beautifully decorated. However, it appeared stale and again had no take. I was quite disappointed. The chocolate covered strawberries were very nice though.

Rock and Roll by WayneS7

Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Bad weather made it impossible to enjoy many standard activities that you normally would be able to enjoy. Thank goodness they had sea-sickness medicine for everyone! Food was excellent. Room spacious and comfortable. Nick & Nora's fabulous food and service. Can't wait to try it again when there is better weather.

The best time I have ever had! by RitaS5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Triumph / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

We just sailed on the triumph and it was the best experience yet. We had a window stateroom. This was a three day cruise and there was not enough time to do everything we wanted to do! I went last year on a three day cruise in 2008 and had a interior room. Our next trip which will be next may , we will have a balcony! I cannot say enough about how great of a time it is to sail on one of the cruise ships. The people are wonderful! You have everything you need. The crew will go out of their way to accommodate you in anyway. There is room service if you want to eat breakfast in your room! The views are awesome! The dining rooms have the best food and the best service ever! I would recommend that if you are planning a trip any where, make it a carnival cruise ship trip! You will not be disappointed at all!

first time cruiser not a big thrill. by Angelina

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Nice ship carpet need to be clean more for the odor of the smoking. If you are a non smoker you can't go in the gamble room serious smoker only. These ships must have a filter non smoking area. Non smoking people just don't want to play bingo all the time.

Great Cruise But... by AshleyB3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

It was a wonderful cruise! We weren't allowed to go to Mexico which was hard because we sat there all day looking at it but Catalina Island was wonderful! We went on the kayaking excursion and enjoyed it very much. We saw a few seals and stingrays! The water was a bit cold but we got used to it. As for the pool on the boat I never got in. I thought it was too cold but others were enjoying it. The food and the service was excellent and always and the Camp Carnival was great. I wasn't very happy with the "Circle C" activities. The director shut it down early every night. The first night it was to be opened until 1am and she shut it down at 12:25. The last night on the boat it was supposed to be open until 12:30 and she closed it at 11:25! It was absolutely crazy! She also never did the activities on the schedule except the unsupervised scavenger hunts which I thought was probably to get them off of her hands! Also, there was no Teen Spa Day which we are used to and like to do. There was no past guest reception either. Other than the few downs it was a great cruise! Although we did go around in circles for days at an average of 6 knots it was great! Not very bumpy or rocky at all!

Cruise to Nowhere! by SusanN8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was a very short cruise, but overall, I thought this was a beautiful ship -- very classy -- larger and even more elegant than the Norwegian Sun and Dream, which I've also sailed on. I have noticed a difference, however, in the amount of "free" amenities since I last cruised four years ago. It seems a lot of things/services have been cut down on, or are now charged for.

Ship: Norwegian Dawn / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Overnight 1-day criuse is perfect for those who just want a quick getaway. We had a great time going to the shows and eating at the restuarants. This type of cruise is geared towards adults who want to eat, drink and have fun.

FUN BUT NOT FRIENDLY by Aloma

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Victory / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

SHIP WAS CLEAN. THE ACTIVITIES FUN, BUT THE SERVICE PEOPLE WERE RUSHED AND OVERWHELMED WITH THE PEOPLE ABOARD. TOO MANY LONG LINES FOR BOARDING AND FOOD. I ONLY FOUND 2 PEOPLE (MY DINNERS SERVERS) WHO ACTUALLY TOOK TIME TO GIVE A "REAL" SMILE AND HOLD A SHORT CONVERSATION. MOST WERE JUST THERE JUST DOING A JOB THAT THEY ACTED LIKE THEY HATED. THE LINES AND STAFF WILL MAKE ME RETHINK JOINING CARNIVAL AGAIN.

It was a perfect cruise! by RobinA4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Miracle / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

I had a wonderful experience on the Miracles Cruise to Nowhere. I have cruised before; I took a friend on her first cruise. She loved it and was calling family members telling them that they all had to take another cruise before we were docked. There is a great variety to keep everyone of all ages entertained, the ship was very clean and your staff went out of their way to assist us in all areas. The food was very good and plentiful. Looking forward to another cruise next year.

Mostly Very Good by EdS3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Spirit / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

Check in and out was very easy. LeBistro French Restaurant had a cover charge. It wasn't worth it. It took a long time between the appetizer and entree. My rack of lamb was over cooked and the steak knives are very dull. My wife's vegetarian napolean was tiny. The dessert chocolate fondue was the high point of the meal. Overall though, we had fun.

Ship: Golden Princess / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was a one night cruise therefore we didn't have much time to see much of the ship. What we saw was great. We had a room with a balcony and I highly recommend this. The room was so much brighter and felt larger.

Very nice atmosphere. The staff was courteous and attentive to our needs. This was my 4th curise but, 1st cruise on NCL and my first one day cruise to no where. It was beautiful. I booked this cruise as a birthday celebration for my husband and would do it again.
