Caribbean - Southern Cruise Reviews

I'd been to the Caribbean many times, but this itinerary is, by far, the best I'd been on, which is why I chose it. It took care of all the parts I'd never been to. The ship is beautiful and well maintained, even though it's smaller than others I'd been on, meaning less to do on the ship, but, ...a) you're not on the ship that much, and...b) I really wanted to rest. The ship filled my purposes more than adequately. The minuses were evident. a) Food- sub par. Beautifully presented, but lacked taste. The desserts LOOKED great, but lacked taste...same with the main meals. While there was abundant CHOICES, all the CHOICES were available ALL the time; thus, it got redundant. Switch it up a bit, please. - b) By far, the low point of the cruise was the entertainment. Sub par bands, comedians, etc. - I would rate the entertainment on board as the lowest I've experienced. Sorry guys, but, I dont know if it's cost-cutting but you've GOT to up your game here. As I said above, I chose this cruise because of the itinerary, and boy, I was NOT disappointed. You really get to see a lot. Onboard, I spent most of the days in the adult indoor pool - VERY relaxing. Staff -as I said above, staff & service were the best I've seen -much better than my other RCL cruises and just as good as Holland's. One more thing - if you get a chance to get a good deal on internet - TAKE IT ! The onboard prices are ridiculous; the internet costs more than the cruise base price itself- (yes, really !) In short, very few hiccups on the cruise. Were it not for the entertainment issue, I'd give it a A-plus. Service and ports were the highlights.

My only issues were with the on board app. It list some reservations. Staff took care of us in spite of the IT issues.

We cruise to rest, relax and meet new people, both fellow cruisers and staff. For us, because we are mobility restricted, it is important we seek out other adventures than ports of call. We find port days are times to really become acquainted with the staff from many nations. Cruising is a gift we give ourselves and an opportunity to expand our world through lasting friendships.

My goal of relaxing after many months of hard/stressful work was achieved. This was entirely due to the excellent staff!!!

will still cruise Royal just got caught up with a bad ship tha we did not check out before hand do to limited choices before we could go.

Great cruise overall and we felt we got good value for money. We visited a lot of ports so really enjoyed the itinerary. The room was lovely and very comfortable and staff on the ship were excellent. The only real issue we had was the dining room as it was almost impossible to get in, had few options nd felt rushed.. We also had Covid when we disembarked which was a bummer. There were plenty of sanitizing stations and hand washing basins around the ship but nobody advising people to use them unlike other ships. We did use them regularly but still ended up with Covid. Overall a great time was had and we would do it again.

Beautiful ship… food in specialty restaurants just wasn’t prepared right… over cooked I am mot s complainer at all so for me to ssy this it was not good….

We had a lovely time. The entertainment was awesome, we saw Junnk, the musical 4 Entertainers, Howl at the Moon, and enjoyed all of the music.

Overall the cruise ship was a decent size there was plenty of activities decent restaurants and lounges. the problem is that there were many complications for example the stabilizers were not working Properly everyone was complaining about the ships rocking as well as The smell of diesel smoke. It was very overwhelming i never seen anything like it before. i did not get to spend alot of time by the pools on the 15th or 16th deck due to it. Also Our itinerary changed and we weren't even able to go to the redirected stop which was a real let down. Other than that the food was decent the entertainment was Good the staff was pretty awesome I just wish it was different this was my 1st time on this cruise line And was hoping for an overall better experience.

I believe I am owed a credit for the change of my room.

Great port intensive cruise. Would have preferred a different port than Trinidad but mostly because it takes way to long to get anywhere by vehicle.

Not happy with casino I tried to win some money to give for my friend's birthday the machines take a long time to get a bonus spin and when you finally get bonus you get NOTHING

Absolutely amazing experience. The service and the food were above and beyond our expectations. Everybody on ship were so friendly and welcoming. Some bonuses were the Lattes at Cafe al Bacio and the Pizza in the Oceanview Cafe which we would enjoy after the Shows each night. The Art Gallery was a great experience that we wouldn't normally encounter. Thanks Celebrity Cruises!

Aruba and Curaçao were awesome ports. Horizon is a beautiful ship with beautiful staff!

I enjoyed this 8-day cruise. I would definitely rebook.

We really enjoyed the food, service and entertainment on this ship. The ice snow was really lovely. The ports of call were just wonderful. The problems we had were the same as always and never could find a seat at any pool area even at 9am due to people saving them and not actually using them. Nothing is ever done about this. We enjoy trivia and even if you get there a half hour early there’s no where to sit. Many people stand to play. They should have the trivia in more than one venue at a time. Overall it was a nice cruise but I am getting weary of crowds and not being able to use the amenities every time we are at sea.

Food was mediocre, basically same dishes every day in buffet for lunch, not much better for dinner, staff not very attentive, open area deck to deck does not flow very well.

It has been several years since our last cruise and it was nice to return. We really enjoyed our cruise, however it felt different due to less people traveling. We had some dining issues, but overall the cruise went well, the ports were nice (been to all of them before) and the cruise was what we were looking for, rest and relaxation.

First time on Celebrity. Will not be the last. Everything well planned out and efficient.
