The Allure is looking very tired and the food is meh this time by Reboot2024

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Allure of the Seas

Honestly, I don't know if anyone will even read this so I hesitate to share. The main problem was that I have some expectations from RCCL that are usually met, but fell FAR short this cruise. The Quest was cancelled, the Battle of the Sexes was cancelled, formal night had turned into Caribbean night, and it was because there was a dance competition onboard which affected many of the things we've grown to love and expect onboard. This would be fine if you had TOLD US WHEN BOOKING. If we'd known, we'd have chosen a different cruise because we REALLY love those things! We are fine with the new once a day cabin cleaning, but the room steward asked us what time we'd like to have our rooms cleaned. We told him, he marked it down, then when we returned towards the end of that window he asked us again. We were like, uh, you asked and we said 9 to 11? Room wasn't cleaned before noon on any of the days, and when your cruise director talks about towel animals and there isn't one ever, it's a bummer. We are tidy non-drinkers, so it's not like going into our room would be a horrendous undertaking. If you're not going to clean when you say, then don't ask us and create expectations that we plan around and are then disappointed. And don't have your cruise director talk about towel animals if it's not something everyone gets. Food in the main dining room was consistently tepid to cold, which was a first for me. Our wait staff was fine but the food took so long to come out that we ended up sitting there with nothing in front of us for long periods of time. There was a woman who came by to ask us if we were happy, but we didn't feel comfortable saying "hey, we've been sitting here with nothing on the table for 15 minutes" because she could obviously see that and we didn't want to be those people. The upsides for us were the as always fantastic shows and live music. When I told my friend that the aqua show would be amazing, I was so happy that she loved it. But I spent a lot of the weekend being embarrassed that the service and food just wasn't there. And I don't think that's normal for RCCL. Or, I hope it's not normal for RCCL. I know the Allure should have gone into dry dock to get Amped before the pandemic, and I feel like it's a mistake to keep her in service doing the shorter trips (which I love and which works really well with my schedule), without making her beautiful again and without making the level of service consistent with the rest of the line. We have an upcoming cruise in August on the Quantum with our adult daughters, I'm now a little nervous and I hope I made the right choice to stick with RCCL for our first Alaska cruise-everyone is telling me I should have gone Disney, but we've never sailed on a Quantum class ship and I am sincerely hoping that the service is what we're used to, and what I experienced on the Allure this weekend was an aberration. One last thing-in 2023 I did the same cruise with my friend on the Mariner, and the smell of pot was really, really bad. This cruise on the Allure I didn't smell it once, and I really appreciate y'all for making sure that our vacation was not stinky! Mariner won for food and service, Allure won for shows and not smelling drugs. Moving forward, the Quantum trip in August is sort of our "make or break" trip where we decide if we want to keep leveling up with RCCL or pivot to a different line. I love RCCL, but I loathe inconsistency of experience.

1st cruise ever taken by Tww19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

It was a great cruise for first timers. I think if we brought our teenagers, they might have been a little bored, and I do wish they had self serve soda machines. But it’s a nice short cruise for young children or young adults to celebrate all day into the night.

The main dining room was definitely 5 star service. The staff always spoke when we passed. Great memories were made on this cruise.

We would go again but on a smaller boat. If you like to mingle with lots of people this is the boat for you.

For a 3 day getaway, it was VERY fulfilling. You can do a lot in 3 days and still relax. Highly recommend this as well as the ship..

Fun trip! by nettiekay

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Jade

We had a wonderful time. The food, entertainment, and ship cleanliness were outstanding. A room for three women - two twins with a child’s bed stuffed in between was not ideal.

Relaxing cruise and good orientation for a first timer by thartman1869672

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty

This was an orientation cruise for my brother in law so we kept it short Overall it was a good experience for him, he definitely got plenty to eat The one stop was a little disappointing but we kind of knew that in advance As I mentioned above , embarkation and debarkation were a breeze. We got to the port around 10 and we were eating a burger by 11 and that included us putting our carry on in the room. We walked out of our cabin at 7:30 and we were in the car by 8 when we debarked No waiting in a dining room or theater. Overall a pleasant cruise

If you like 24 hour millenial party noise, this is your cruise. not for me. by paulcutrona

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Liberty

carnival seems to be a party line. I could not get a minute of escape unless I was in my cabin. I am going back to royal carribean. at least with RK you can have both worlds. the carnival guests were immature drunks. never again. I like a drink or two, and a show, or dancing, or whatever, but 24/7 is was more like a non-stop bachelor party for 10 year old monkeys.

Royal Caribbean Slips a Bit by flwise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas

Purpose of trip was to provide my adult son with autism a cruise experience. Goal Achieved! However, experienced a few RCL hiccups with luggage delivery delay, cabin prep deficiencies, and inattention to Crown & Anchor status regarding spending account charges. Ship seemed overcrowded, particularly the main pool deck, and Windjammer Cafe. Looks like part of originally dedicated Windjammer space has been repurposed to specialty restaurants. Bottom line, great itinerary/ship for families & first time passengers. As an older, more experienced cruiser, future cruises for me will be back in my comfort zone of smaller (3K) ships, longer itineraries, and alternate lines that pay just a little more attention to the details that matter.

We'll only travel like Rockstars by cindyjesmain

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Scarlet Lady

We went from Miami to Key West and the Bahamas. We had a blast at Bayside in Miami. We stayed at the Hilton and watched the world's largest ship come in to the port for the first time the morning of our cruise. The music was blasting and shaking our windows. Virgin was an amazing experience. I loved everything except the shows that we saw. The music and dancing were fun. The food and service were fantastic. Our room was unbelievable. I will only cruise with Virgin as a Rock star.

Adults only fantastic cruise! by annafisher79

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Scarlet Lady

We loved the all inclusive adults only theme of Virgin Voyages. We loved it so much that we booked two more cruises with them over the next year! We can’t wait to try the other dining and entertainment options that we missed on this shorter sailing.

Relaxed Caribbean Cruise by Stsauvers12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas

Royal Caribbean is a class act with all of their crew, activities, and ships. Although Liberty could use an amplification, she was clean and met all of our expectations.
