Alaska the beautiful by PJMK

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Lovely ship but nothing outstanding about it. Fairly boring overall including Havana. Thoroughly enjoyed Jersey Boys - a shame not a bit more kid friendly. Definitely check out observation lounge. Wish we would have known about all you can play arcade and texting with other people on the ship. Would have paid the small fees involved. Disembarking on last day awful, lengthy, unnecessary process! Fort Valet great. Gold panning excursion commercialized. Disappointed by the staff's neutrality. Not perky, kind or friendly - yet not mean or nasty either. Never felt welcomed.

Alaska Trip - Great ports, not great ship for Teens unless you beat the crowds and bring your checkbook by adenardo

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Just to recap - the ports in AK were great - our favorites were Ketchican (Salmon Fishing and Rainforest Canopy Zip Lining) and Skagway (Talia River Float). Juneau wasn't our favorite however we were surprised how much fun we had panning for gold down by the river - a lot more fun then we expected. Victoria was not as adventurous, however the History Museum was pretty neat and we enjoyed ourselves. The Ship was a bit of a disappointment - our Balcony room was amazing, but the activities for Teens was pretty poor and since AK is sooo cold and windy, the water slides and pools aren't really built for that type of cruise - Some other ships have solarium's with open and close roofs - which may be a better choice. We were never able to book laser tag as people had booked them all up so the entire trip we weren't able to do that as a family and the go carts were the same, our teens got to do it a few times and my husband and I were able to do it twice with them throughout the entire cruise as people booked them all up by the 2nd day on the ship - I hope they fix this in the future (I would suggest they limit how many you can book at a time until your first set is done - similar to walt disney world Fast Pass) - so you can imagine how bored my teenage kids got. The Arcade was ridiculously priced and the times we were able to go on the go carting it was run very very poorly - they let young kids stop at corners and never took them off the track - they did not have a fast and a slow setup, it was always at a point were you couldn't even get around the track once without stopping for a person who was nervous or slow - very very disappointing.

Good food , poor drinks on the lido deck by hmatthews0726

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall a good experience, food was very good and the service was great. Drinks are weak on the lido deck, go to one of the other bars for drinks. The entire staff on the ship were excellent, service was great.

Disappointed by sylvia1951

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Weather was basically bad. One day at sea and at Juneau was horrible. Was so foggy could not see any glaciers while sailing the fjords. Saw no wildlife except for some dead salmon and seagulls. Had to take more adventures tour to enjoy the sites. Nice ship, food and entertainment. If you are a senior with limited mobility, I suggest you choose a different itinerary.

Norwegian Bliss the good and bad by jondier1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Liked a lot about this cruise but the evening entertainment left much to be desired. Having cruised Norwegian many times I have enjoyed diverse entertainment including shows, comedians, and other variety acts including Blue Man Group. This cruise lacked the diversity we are accustomed to, having 2 Broadway Musical style shows, neither being very good. The one, Jersey Boys, was rated ages 12 and over so we took our kids, but after hearing the "F word" 5 times in the first 10 minutes we decided to leave. The other, Havana, was hectic and not that entertaining. The other activities, race cars and laser tag, were exciting.

Horrible as to the food,entertainment,patio/balcony furniture, couch was yard sale material, room #702 Dolphin Deck was not clean, cruise director looked like Pillsbury dough boy, guest services people were rude after we had a helicopter medi-vac that put u by pkfortner

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Princess Cruises have gone down tremendously the last 5 years in Quality and service. State room(mini-suite) #702 Dolphin Deck was a laugh, couch was was garage/yard sale condition, the same goes for your balcony furniture. Unit was dirty,so was the balcony. We did not use the balcony 1 time because of this!! When we had a 2 hour delay because of a medi-vac situation, all of the passengers were scrambling to try and get earlier disembarkation times so as not to miss their flights&connecting flights and 1 of your reps was a real smart--- to a lot of people, acting like it was our fault, which in fact it was no one's fault that some poor person got their trip messed up!! We hated it for the people that were taken off the ship and pray that they are doing OK! Your employee certainly did'nt care because it in-convenienced her. Enough said,I hope you can find her&fire her because she is certainly not a credit to your ship!!!Thanks

Food quality decreased, got a room below kitchen (Deck 12 - Room 2138) that had constant noise, could not sleep. Cruise ship transportation is $ 27 or more per person, cab is $ 40. by grigdon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

There were 3 of us in 2 concierge class staterooms. Celebrity bus to the dock was $ 27 X 3 = $ 81 each way (take a cab), you can’t move your stateroom so I’m going to take more time doing research, not going to be below the kitchen ever again (thanks Celebrity). Don’t wait for the staff to ask about pillows, 90% chance they are feathers (down), so if you have asthma you need to deal with this again on the 1st day.

Unforgettable Alaskan Experience! by AndyG2113

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Really amazing experience. The highlight was the Alaskan Wilderness, but the onboard experience was nice as well. This being our first cruise I have nothing to compare it to, but several people were unimpressed with the onboard experience. Bring a few cases of your own bottled water to avoid criminal upcharges.

It was a beautiful cruise. by JA1893

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We really enjoyed our cruise. As I said we did the cruise in 2016. Really the highlight was being upgraded to a suite. We enjoyed all the perks that come with a suite. I’m already looking for another.

Alaska was amazing!! by erbriones0405

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The cruise was amazing - no issues leaving out of San Francisco. Visiting Alaska is a must. Nothing really in Haines so you would need to go on an excursion. I would go again!!

Very nice cruise. Would recommend. by mebatchelor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our 15th cruise but first Holland America cruise. The food, service, staff and cleanliness of the ship were excellent. The decor of the ship was kind of dull and the entertainment was lacking. Not enough entertainment choices in the evenings and the bars were frequently unattended. Despite these negative comments I would do this cruise again and would recommend it.

Alaskan Cruise amazing ....Celebrity Solstice not so much by shyte54909434

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Seeing Alaska was awesome. The Celebrity Solstice was a quite boring of a ship. The activities were boring, the food was good but did not do the sit down dinners. The bars were just bars with no theme to them. I would have liked each one have their own specialty drink. I was really disappointed in the Captain and the entertainment director for neither one spoke English very well. I could only understand about every 5th word and when they made announcements you had to go into the hallway to hear them. You could not hear them from your room.

Amazing CruiseLine by Janiceshows

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Lerica, Arnel, & Ernest in Blu, Maryana & Rajesh in Murano, gave us except service. The entire staff At Tuscany were also unbelievable. I have celiac disease and they help make this cruise a wonderful experience. At the martini bar the staff was entertaining and made great drinks. Darko and Dejan were the bar tenders at our mixology classs. They were very knowledgeable and made it a fun experience.
