Skip this trip, unless your 70. Plus half of us are now testing positive for covid. by joechapa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I found that there was a lack of activities on the cruise ship that meant what I typically enjoy. The food in the main dining room was very hit or miss we got served several dishes that were cold. Better considerable amount of booking issues and room issues while on the ship I'm happy to say they got resolved but it seemed like we spent way too much time in line the first two days oh and lastly the internet's terrible.

Too much time at sea by TedP84

Too much time at sea. I'd recommend a different itinerary to get more time in Alaska.

Messy embarkation and disembarkation by veasaigon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Discovery Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I contract covid and felt the effect on the last day of our trip (July1). I could have contracted it on Thursday if not Friday. We were mask all the time except when eating and drinking and try to avoid getting near other people. Can somebody tell the cruise director why movies were always shown in the open deck where it was very cold and windy. There were probably only 15-20 people in the jacuzzi. Instead, they should have movies every day at the indoor theater and instead of the cruise director always having his boring show.

Wedding Vow Renewal on Princess Discovery by jdedwards1224

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Discovery Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The most beautiful experience for vowel renewal on the beautiful Princess Discovery! We got to meet the Captain and he had such a great personality- he was great to talk with. Also, Allan our steward was like having a friend along the ride who we got to see everyday with a big smile on his face. Amazing experience and we are going back on the same cruise on Sept 18th and brining our parents this time.

Not bad at all. by BatDog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Discovery Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Starting with the ship itself. The ship is great, being very new, just a couple of months old on the date of our trip, the ship is and should be in great shape. The updated design by Princess is great, the color are pleasant, and the layout if much improved from other Princess boats. Cabins-We had a Mini-Suite which is compatible to other Mini-Suites we have had on other Princess cruises, with a little improved layout. However, the balcony is much smaller than in the past. you can barely fit two persons on the balcony, and even then it is a very tight and cramped space. Internet / Medallion App - Princess promotes the Internet and their Medallion app a ton. This should be almost criminal. The internet is nearly non-existent. To charge persons for a service you cannot utilize is criminal in my opinion, I am awaiting for a class action suit on this, maybe I will will do just that. The Medallion App, when it works is great. When it works. Likely the issue is the related to the non-existent internet. The Internet issue is not unique to this boat, it is the same across the entire Princess fleet from what I know. I was in the Caribbean just a short time prior to this trip and had the same issue. A Princess employee on the ship, even said that he was going to try and get money back due to the non-existent internet to which he had to pay. Best advice, if you are doing the Alaska cruise, do not pay for the internet, you can get service at each port and often under way on your cell phone carrier. Crew/Service - The crew were generally very nice and genuinely wished to be helpful. There is always one or two who disappoint, but that is just humans being humans. Our cabin steward for instance was generally great, but there were a few minor hiccups. We requested extra towels, instead of getting extra towels he simply replaced the towels we had. It took a couple of days to sort it out, then all was fine. Likely a language issue. The on one day we received no service in our cabin at all. We learned at the end of the night that because we left a medallion in our cabin the steward thought we were in the cabin and did not wish to disturb us. Which was contrary to when coming out of the restroom the cabin steward was in the room. So not sure what changed. Some of the Casino staff were not very outgoing or happy. Unsure why, how, or any details, but it was strange. The wait staff at and around bars were great. Food - Food is a mainstay of cruises, and very subjective. I have read reviews by persons who were not happy with the food. I would not agree. The food we experienced was fine. Was it Michelin Star rated food? No but let's be realistic, they are cooking for 3300 plus persons. The food in the dining room was good, had plenty of variety, which was at least a fish, a beef, a chicken and a vegetarian item on the menu each night. There are plenty of other restaurants to eat at, to include Salty Dog, by the pool, which has burgers, hots dogs, and tacos. All great. Circus Pizza, also by the pool is also fantastic. The Buffet is also great. On this ship it is huge, and has plenty of variety. The specialty restaurants are a touch of a let down, but they are fine nonetheless. I just don't think they are worth the upcharge when you compare them with what you get at other ship locations for free. Entertainment-Again a highly subjective opinion. I personally did not think much of the entertainment, but others with me loved it. To each their own. We all agreed however that the Magician was pretty much the worse ever. The Cruise Director Duvaul was the best Cruise Director I have seen. In fact I never have been on a cruise where I did not think the Cruise Director was a total tool, so good for Duvaul. That pretty much sums up the details of the ship, anything else is port or excursion specific, and for other posts.

Relaxing, good food. by ascarydriver

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, it was a relaxing trip. The only disappointment was the lack of variety for entertainment. Mostly it seemed to be karaoke or trivia games. And during sunny days on the deck, they didn’t have a dj playing. It seems most Alaska cruises never take advantage of warm, sunny days at the pool deck.

Cruise was wonderful, except for American Airlines promises by tagtlt007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

American Airlines was the travel agent. They were fault on a couple of promises: 1) their price guarantee was phony and they did not honor it; and 2) they indicated we would get an upgrade (my wife's elite status also is suppose to provide it), and we did not. This was particularly offensive when there were plenty of open cabins at a higher grade.

Inside Passage from Vancouver on HAL by CarmelMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Koningsdam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, it was a good cruise. As with all trips, the weather plays a heavy role in enjoyment. I was a little disappointed in the ports and the viewing of the passage. Maybe because I had spent 16 days doing a land tour by RV of Alaska in the past. Between the two, land exploration is far better.

Alaska Trip of a Lifetime by Cruiser97474669

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I will definitely cruise with Princess again but will need to buy new luggage. When I got to Anchorage my large piece of new luggage only had 2 wheels left. The contractors transporting our luggage need to take better care or our luggage should have traveled with us. I loved my cruise and all the Princess staff treat you as if you are their only customer. Next trip...the Carribean!

Incredible Cruise Experience! by kayraef92

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Crown Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We cruised Alaska Inside Passage on the Crown Princess. Decor in the piazza was centered around the Klondike gold rush (which I loved). Everything on the cruise was very well enjoyed and appreciated!

Amazing all wrapped up into one by TeamT2016

This was an amazing time. I am definitely going to do it again and may add the land portion to it. I really wish NCL would extend port times to make the experience more complete.

below expectations and disappointing by amalik116

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I booked with NCL under the impression and confirmation from a ncl phone representative that the kids club had long hours, shows for families/kids , drink package included water- none of those were true. I would not recommend NCL due to misleading information and lack of communication.
