My daughter and I enjoyed the cruise. Typical Alaska weather which no one can control. Sadly my daughter tested positive for Covid the day we got home. I appreciate Celebrity testing prior (even though it was a pain) and trying to control the virus exposure to guests. Staff was fantastic!!!!

Alaskan Adventure by vic0948

Alaska takes your breath away! The clean, crisp, refreshing air, simplicity of life, the sense of community and respect for nature makes this a favorite for me. This is my 2nd visit to Alaska but 1st time cruising here. Cruising allows you to cover more of the state so I highly recommend it. I also recommend bookending the cruise with 1-2 non-travel days if you are originating from the East coast.

Surprisingly Enjoyable Alaskan Cruise by malfieri

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, this was a great cruise even though it was overcast for most of it. The temperatures were in the mid-50s to low-60s most of the trip but that didn't really deter from the enjoyment. Only one day was rainy enough to have a bit of an impact on our enjoyment but the weather was not as much of a downer overall as I thought it might be. As for the destinations, they were all decent to very enjoyable. We definitely want to do the cruise again now that we know more of what to expect. We also did a 3-day pre-cruise package that started in Fairbanks then went to Denali and finished in Anchorage/Seward. That was very enjoyable too and well worth it. The overall pre-cruise/cruise package was a top-notch and fun experience despite some of the minor issues mentioned. It is highly recommended if you've ever thought about doing an Alaskan cruise.

Norwegian Sun Alaska Dud by bernadetteplace

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We’re not big gamblers but others on board were and it seems the casino closed quite suddenly and quite often. Sometimes due to us/Canada reqs but other times unexplained. For kids aged 13+ there’s VERY little activities. Forget buffet go to the complimentary or paid restaurants. The biggest issue was the shore excursions. Arriving at night and having 1.5 hours to walk past closed stores or arriving so early nothings open? And very limited time at most stops. Many ppl had excursions canceled. If you’re looking for adult orientated cruise, will eat anything, don’t plan on going ashore, aren’t big on gambling and are content to sit at the 3-4 nice bars and just chat, you’ll love it.

Honestly, Mixed feelings by nancy55767452

We were glad we went, as this gave us the onboard zodiacs, the highlight for us of the week. We have been on many river cruises (with Vantage and Scenic) and mid-sized Oceania voyages (on Oceania, almost always planning our own tours, often joining with fellow cruisers through Cruisecritic roll calls). This was our first Windstar experience. In balance, we would choose both Scenic and Oceania again, unless there was a specific desire, as there was with the zodiacs.

Cruise Nightmare by kccdiver

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Breeze / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

our cruise was ruined by covid and of course characterized by isolation and quarantine. we were disappointed in the cruise experience with ship spaces not as appealing as luxury, food quality and taste inconsistent, and lack of expedition insights we thought would be connected to a smaller cruise touting a unique itinerary including nature stops. service was either very good or very bad with the latter relating to personnel either misunderstanding or choosing not to answer questions directly (like they had been given a script and not hear the question).

Super great from start to finish. Every crew member was awesome, as was the layout of ship, food, and all entertainment except super technical extravaganza (aweful).

Disappointing but also breathtaking. by jjm5551

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I will mention the disappointing part of our trip first. A teenage passenger was running in the hall ( which they did from morning until late night) and he fell and broke his arm. Our captain made the decision to bypass the glaciers ( which was one of the main reasons we came on the cruise). And sail directly into Juneau to get the young man to the hospital. With all that taken in consideration for the best wishes to the young man, we really felt Short changed for what we didn’t get to see.I’m hoping there’s some type of restitution made to the passengers. Other than that, we had a great time and the time we did have in each port.

Wonderful Alaskan Cruise by McMahon347

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Serenade of the Seas is a beautiful ship. It is medium in size and well laid out. The ship is well maintained and very decorative. The room was a good size and had lots of closet space. Balcony is a good size. We were greeted warmly by the staff and the service was exceptional. The food was delicious. The ship never felt crowded. You never felt like you were swimming in crowds of people. I recommend this ship highly either as a cruise to Alaska (as we did) or in Tampa to the Caribbean (which I will be looking to do soon).
