Disappointed by ghncs1972

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Westerdam

Ship passenger count was 200 over the published capacity. Ship was badly under staffed and it showed, especially in Lido. I miss the expert speakers, Lincoln Center, test kitchen, and more.

Had a wonderful time! by AusUsaGuy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Noordam

If you are thinking about this trip, jump in. Spend as much as you can reasonably afford; your upgrades will largely be worth it. Pinnacle Grill is pricey for a couple and may not be worth it - Main Dining Room is perfectly fine. Neptune Suite is worth it for all of the amenities.

Wonderful Norwegian cruise, but we got Covid. by zhannazhilina

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Encore

The cruise was great, but Ivan start feeling seek on Sunday June 18 the day of disembarking, he was tested Covid positive next day (June 19th), his wife Zhanna was tested positive on June 20th, our kids are still fine, which might be one of three possible reasons, thirst - they got luck, second they are young and do not have enough receptors to bind the virus, third - they did not attend activities which made their parents seek. Ivan and Zhanna attended three sessions of wine testing and one day of spa. If other passengers reported getting seek and were involved in the same activities, you might figure out the source of the infection and prevent it from happening to other guests.

Disappointed by djbatesart

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Royal Princess

Very disappointed with Royal Princess, over booked, changes in scheduled arrivals, asking if we wanted to switch cabins to an obstructed view cabin two days before sailing. The Victoria (Buchart Gardens) was canceled three weeks ahead, we had used our “bonus” excursion money $125 to book the excursion, no money back.. the Juneau excursion cancelled and $239.95 refund is supposed to take 4 to 6 weeks to refund my credit card. One member of our party went on shore in Victoria and a shopkeeper said the Princess has been late every time, not just this cruise.

Best Alaskan Cruise by Cruiser11819361

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Our travel agent went above and beyond to provide the best Alaskan experience for us. I feel she found us the best prices for our budget and helped us with excursions we wanted to do as well. They were honest and upfront about everything and it was truly the best vacation we’ve ever been on.

Frist cruise by jkoniaraz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice

It was a great experience. We learned a lot about cruises and Alaska. Next one will be tropical since it was too cold to go outside on the ship and cold in the ports too. But we did luck out with sunshine at all stops, so that was awesome!

Disappointed by Kielm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

Terrible value for the experience. Cruises has really gone downhill. Everything cost extra now and the ships are too packed with passengers to enjoy anything. Food quality continues to get worse. Greed has consumed the industry.

An exciting experience with Holland America by dat42651

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Westerdam

This is a must for anyone who wants to experience Alaska. Some shore times could be lengthened. Really enjoyed Ketchikan however no port time excursion we took was too long.

Alaska is gorgeous and ship has a lot to offer, but could improve. by TammieandDavid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Encore

All I can say is GO! Alaska is a wonderland, and Norwegian is a nice way to see it...if they would fine-tune a few things. Just eliminate Victoria, because there's not enough time in the two last ports. Don't use priority embarkation. It's a waste. Loved the food, drinks and entertainment.

Ports were great but the cruise ship was a disappointment by jkjoyner3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Encore

The cruise ship overall was clean. Lacked in entertainment and didn't have much to do if the weather was bad. The app on the phone was terrible. Kept having to sign in multiple times and couldn't book anything but dining through the app. You had to book everything 1st day otherwise everything was booked. The dining room staff seemed very inexperienced and took forever. The ports of call were great but seemed very commercialized. If you go on this cruise, get away from the downtown portions and do excursions. Weather is a major factor both on and off the ship. We had a major excursion get cancelled because of weather. Overall it was great to see Alaska but the ship experience wasn't the best I've been on.
