Great skip, too large for the location (Alaska). by danni04

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Wonderful ship but know that there are too many people on board to support their actives and commendations. Plan ahead accordingly.

Spectacular Alaskan Cruise by beverlykimble

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This cruise is worth the cost. The service on the Eurodam was always excellent - from the poolside to the main dining room. Food was always well prepared and room was always cleaned and freshened up.

Unforgettable Alaskan cruise by jawadsworth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

My main complaint about the Ruby Princess was that the Adults only pool was closed and after the first day they closed off several of the hot tubs, which were small to begin with. They should have had all pools and hot tubs available. It would be nice to have the pool area covered for cold/rainy days.

Alaska absolutely beautiful....cruise was good by bmalloy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Cruise was good. The service in the restaurant was ok, but could have been better. The food was good but didn't offer the variety we were expecting. And the drink limits (cranberry juice was free in the morning but not at lunch....really?) No lemonade in the dining, but everywhere else. Just odd.

Vacation of a life time by marybussey

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Eurodam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The views were breath taking, would have liked more port time in Ketchikan - it was amazing, by far my favorite and cruising Glacier Bay was magnificent- we saw eagles, brown bear, otters, seals and a hump back whale. Will definitely return.

Nearly perfect except for guest "comedian" Mark Eddie, who was terrible! by danfromAZ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ruby Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was a nearly perfect except for guest "comedian" Mark Eddie, who was terrible! Two nights of entertainment were lost to his insulting, vulgar attempts at humor. The first night we were in the center of our row in the large theater and didn't want to make a scene climbing over everybody to walk out, so we just sat there and went through email, etc. waiting for the "show" to be over. The second night we went by the lounge to see if his second show was different, as advertised, but quickly saw it was just more of the same, so we quickly left. We are so upset at Princess' choice of this entertainment that our future cruises will be with another cruise line. Other than that, the rest of the ship's entertainment and all other aspects of the cruise were great. If there was a way too see who the entertainment will be in advance so as to avoid undesirable cruises, we would consider Princess again. Short of that, we will go with other cruise lines that we have had no such issues with before.

Awesome Alaska Cruise by stevesfs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Most everyone on the ship did their best to make sure we had an awesome 30th anniversary cruise. Stand outs were Executive Sous Chef Rodger, Rolando in Blu, Rebecca, the glass blowing teacher, and Patricia in excursions. We highly recommend the cooking class and the glass blowing class, but book early as they fill up extremely fast!

Awesomely Scenic Cruise! by bakerman001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Explorer of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We did the 7 day round trip up to Skagway and back; by far this was the most scenic cruise we have done to this point. The drive through the Tracy Arm Fjord (not always a guarantee due to ice) was one of the most stunning things I have ever seen in my life. There is no bad place on deck, as the boat executes multiple slow 360s when the captain gets as close to the glaicier as he/she can. The rest of this trip is equally awesome.

2018 Alaska Cruise by RaysBirthday

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Legend / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Our cabin, and I guess all the others, had 1 electrical outlet in the entire room to handle 2 cell phones, 1 tablet, camera battery, etc.. The cabins should have more than a single outlet. Our TV controlled did nothing but let you change channels and the volume. The closed captions were all in spanish. I called for someone to come and change it to english. No one ever did. Also the adjustments set on the TV made it very hard to see. I asked for someone to come and adjust the TV. No one ever did. The A/C put out cold enough air but the fan did not move enough of the cool air to keep the room cool, during the day, when needed. A fellow came to check out the A/C. He checked the temp at the outlet vent and told us the air was cool enough, we knew that, but did nothing about the volume of air flow.

Great Ports, Not So Great of a Ship by khhuntclub

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Let's start with the embarkation - it was ridiculous. The porters refused to take luggage from those people in the front of the line. Instead, they went further down the line and took luggage only from those individuals that were holding out enough money to (apparently) deem it worth their time. Because of that, the line moved very slowly. The food on the ship was mediocre compared to other cruises that we have taken. Ship cleanliness was unacceptable - there were foul odors in various parts of the ship the entire 10 days. Onboard activities and entertainment were very substandard, especially for a cruise that has 6 days at sea. Frequently, there were no meaningful activities taking place. The bands and DJ were the worst that we've ever experienced on a cruise. The Security personnel on this ship were rude, and were making poor decisions. They would open and close gangways at will, creating large backups as people were trying to get off the ship for excursions. Although I never saw any passengers creating trouble, I saw the security personnel consistently being rude to most passengers. Rudeness by any department on a cruise ship should be completely unacceptable - but apparently is not on the Grand Princess. This was our first Princess cruise, and it did not leave us wanting to go on another one - we'll stick with NCL, who provides a consistently great experience.

It was a really good cruise, lots of time on open sea tho. by mommamealer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Pearl / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

My first cruise. I guess I expected more things on board that did not cost, like playing 3 games of bingo was 49.00, getting a bath treatment was 169.00. Pictures were very expensive, I guess these all have to make a living also, but with it being my first cruise, I was caught unaware of all the extras you had to pay to get.

LOVED IT by psensano

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great to see there was alot of activity and things to to do on board. Staff was always courteous and accommodating. We had only one issue regarding a nearby service door which slammed very loudly whenever a crew member passed through it, i called front desk and it was remedied the next day. But overall Loved the ship, staff and food. Totally made us happy happy, smily smily to washy washy every day. I never got that lady crew members name at the garden cafe every morning, , but she's a keeper. Definitely will not be our last cruise, well be back! 👍🤙🤙😁

Most beautiful vacation ever by otwellvaca2018

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

This cruise was excellent. My oldest daughter is vegan and although the ship didn't offer vegan options, they chef was very accommodating. The chef made her special dinners and special desserts. I was quite pleased with that.

Exploring Alaska by SteveGeorgeCash

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nieuw Amsterdam / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Holland America line was good. The ship was nice, not too big and definitely kept up to date. They offer the best offshore activities and make it easy to book and get to. Taku glacier helicopter was breathtaking. If I had to pick one I would definitely pick it. Worth every penny. SPA great for couples! First class train in Skagway was scenically great and not too long.
