First cruise ever and it was amazing!! by jameshaulman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Solstice / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The cruise was an amazing experience with lots of great activity's on board and lots of excellent food choices on board as well, everyone was friendly from staff members to all guests! Drink packages seem kind of pricy but have no other cruise experience's to compare. I will be booking more cruise's in the future!!!

Cruise was great but Land Tour to Denali was Terrible by helenlopez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Nieuw Amsterdam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The sea part was great. But we were given no information regarding the land portion, where we would be when, in order to make excursion plans, Not before, not during and only wwere provided a 1 day advance notice of what our days would look like when we got that days hotel keys. very disorganized.

Smooth sailing by thecountrybumpk

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Majestic Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This was cruise 18 for us and we enjoyed most of the time, seas were extremely calm so that was really a plus, wished for time in Skagway ( the reason why we decided to go back to Alaska)…and could have skipped Icy Straight Point if we would have had a whole day in Ketchikan

We thought we'd give Princess a try but have decided that Holland American fits us better.

Destinations were great but the prior land portion was disappointing and the lack of customer support from Cheap Cruises was truly frustrating. by mariahuertas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

After rescheduling this trip repeatedly due to Covid for 2 years we were very excited and ready to enjoy. Unfortunately our trip started with issues of pickup transfers from the Anchorage airport to the hotel in which Cheap Cruises dropped the ball even after confirming they were arranged repeatedly and my customer service rep Shelley Walker was not at all responsive or helpful. Even now after returning and requesting a contact name for a supervisor/lead I have not received any information/name. My family and I have been loyal, repeated customers and this experience or lack of support and assistance is making us and our friend rethink our ongoing commitment to purchasing any future cruises via Cheap Cruises.

Celebrity Millennium cruise was nice. Working with was terrible. by vacation0cruise

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Overall, the cruise was great. The pre-cruise land portion was medium. With the shutdown, most of the tour guides left and the new ones are still getting up to speed. Some are great and others are still learning. Our experience with was horrible. They did not add any value. I would just use Celebrity's future cruise staff for future cruise questions and planning.

While we enjoyed our recent AK Land/Cruise Pkg Fairbanks to Vancouver BC, regretfully we experienced too many Quality Improvement Opportunities due to poor communications and inadequate/short staffing! Intent to write CEO, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo by Cruiser65407676

While we enjoyed our recent AK Land/Cruise Pkg Fairbanks to Vancouver BC, regretfully we experienced too many QIO/Quality Improvement Opportunities due to poor communications and inadequate/short staffing! This is to the extent of intended correspondence to CEO. The Land Pkg in particular fell far short of our desires & expectations.

Disappointed by blott2341930394

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Millennium / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I expected so much more from Celebrity. I has assumed their service, ship and food were on par with Princess. Was I ever wrong!! I actually believe that RC (parent company) is spending more time renovating the RC ships that Celebrity is being neglected.

Great trip by ritarolf2002

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Jewel / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Great time. Would cruise with Norwegian again. The crew was great, accommodations were good, ship was not too big, shows and choice of excursions was great. I loved the way you could plan the trip and pay for extras before going. Helped spread the cost out but also did not have to make plans during the trip. I have not been on a cruise for a number of years so this was new to me but the website and updates were a real great perk.

Pleasant at sea, disappointing on land by Tyderium

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grand Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The overall rating listed for the cruise is 3.5, but I would rate it as a 3.0 at best. The cruise itself was fine, but the 3-day land portion was, at its very best, disappointing. A domed-sightseeing train trip into Denali was interesting. The narration was informative, but 8 hours of train travel and nearly 8 hours of constant narration was grating. The whole of the Denali experience was that of a lightly-prodded, very comfortable cow. We were transported en masse to a Princess-owned "resort"/jumble of apartments+restaurant, allowed to check-in to the room and go to a lodge or go an excursion, and wake up the next day and do the very same thing. The schedule of Denali transports and Princess-shuttling to the next Princess motel were incompatible, and several of the more interesting excursions were simply not possible. In addition, the Princess lodge was not located near anything that could be accessed WITHOUT a Princess shuttle or excursion package. So, I couldn't actually go into Denali or hike anywhere, which is a tremendous waste of travelling into the Alaskan wilderness, not to mention money and time. A better arrangement of scheduling between the shuttles and the excursion providers would be appreciated. My family agreed that we will certainly return to Alaska, but not through anything resembling a Princess-administrated package. A shame, too, since the cruise was fairly nice and well-organized.

Pros and cons by susanfoley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Royal Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Royal Princess is a clean, modern ship. Using the medallion had its pros and cons. Nightly theatre entertainment was great. Daily games were boring, imo. The naturalist, Mr. Raincock, was a plus - keep him on. Sorry to say, however, that even with mask requirements, almost NO one wore them! We found the disrespect, disregard, and lack of enforcement irritating and disappointing. ALL 4 of us, who gladly wore masks, got Covid. Not fair.

All in all, we had a fantastic time on the Celebrity Millenium. High points were the food, staff, cleanliness, excursions, and of course scenic Alaska.
