This was a bucket-list cruise for my Mother, but turned out to be a great eye-opener for the rest of us as well. We are well-travelled, but had not previously cruised. Even though several of us have spent years on-the-sea in our private vessels, combining the sea experience with the pampered care of the cruise was an eye-opening opportunity. Thank you!

Sweet honeymoon by viviane1226

We have a fun time with family. If the cruises can offer some Chinese food will be much better.

Not What I Expected by Nelipot

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The cruise staff do not tell you while you are booking (or even later), that the weather may be miserable nor do they let you know that a lot of places are still closed due to snow in May and up to mid June where everything is open and the salmon are running. It would have been nice to know this. Land/sea tour does not give you enough time to review your cruise on Royal Caribbean as they only give you about 5 days to review after the end of the cruise. Juneau is very spread out geographically. Be aware that the whale watching tours keep you at least 100 yards away and so you will need binoculars and zoom lens. Overall, not happy with the lack of information given for planning and spending thousands of dollars.

Loved the cruise! by gaylelanden515

Not to be missed. Go before global warming destroys these natural masterpieces. Saw them over 20 years ago and they are melting.

Wonderful Alaskan Cruise by mtvisser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Westerdam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

My first cruise and first visit to Alaska were all amazingly beautiful. We had extraordinary sunshiny days and tolerable temperatures. Only one rather rough day at sea (our only rainy day) but the ship provided lots of entertainment choices and good food. Since there are no roads in and out of most of the ports of call, cruising Vancouver to Seward is the best way to go. Met some great people along the way and had a great experience!

Nice cruise to see Alaska by water... by himihancock

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Star Princess / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The food in the buffet area was terrible - a lot offered, but awful...The dining room food was alright-but definitely NOT great (and I'm NOT a "picky eater"!)...The other 2 dining rooms where you have to pay extra to, I guess, get better food we didn't go to - paid enough for the cruise let alone paying more to get better food was ridiculous..The service by the staff was very good-but they weren't overly friendly or go out of their way..Our balcony room was excellent-thankfully that saved the cruise..The ports were good-except for Juneau -would NEVER go there again (VERY rundown!)

Alaskan Cruise by cruisestogether

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Zaandam / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Overall, I had a great time on the cruise and I feel like I saw a lot of Southeastern Alaska. I would definitely consider seeing Denali prior to or after the cruise in the future.

Disappointed; not what we expected by ram9678

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Been there, done that... and have the tee-shirt. This will probably be my last cruise. If we go to Alaska or any other place, I believe travelling there, renting a car and making one's own itinerary is probably less stressful and more enjoyable. Personally, I don't like to feel like a walking ATM for the cruise line...everything is about money, at every turn. That's why I selected the 'drinks' and 'tips' included options which turned out to be deceitful as we had to pay for bottled water and all tips except for cabin attendant. The worst part was that once the 'sale' was made, I could not get the salesperson (Beatriz Carter) to email me or call me back. I had an emergency at debarkation and needed to contact her regarding the insurance we purchased. As of today, she has not contacted me.

Great Cruise with Norwegian--Excursions/ports (Icy Strait Pt) need to be tweaked by tchr212

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The entire time spent of the Norwegian Sun was worth it!--Freestyle dining is the way to go--They take the time to cater to the customer--I would highly recommend them! ---The towns, Juneau, Skagway, Ketchikan are all unique, yet the same in many ways--catering to the ships that dock there. Drop/replace Icy Strait Pt!

Most Amazing Trip by jwesson2776

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Would do it over and over again. The beauty of the lands that we visited were clean and ready for business. A person could find that special gift at any port that they were searching for.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!! by Butterflymia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Last BIG trip of my life & celebration of 60th b'day. Fixed income doesn't allow big trips much. I'm more than willing to accept donations. HA! ;-) Glaciers were the best part for me; Gorgeous & very interesting. Disappointed with ship, food (bland & little menu variation), and service. Aroused after midnight for "life raft maintenance?" which was directly under my stateroom. Called to inquire & treated rudely. FELL due to stateroom's balcony wheelchair ramp not secured to floor & FRACTURED a toe, not to mention bruised & sore everywhere else. Ship is old & overpriced for its age & lack of amenities. Only ONE 110 plug for entire balcony "accessible" stateroom. NO plugs beside bed. Was told this would be upgraded in April 2018. I suggest reading my entire review. Thanks for reading & I hope you have a much better cruise.

Great stops. Terrible Service by Joseph12345

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Sun / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

great stops. mediocre food. bad service. alaska is great and worth visiting but pick a different operator with a similar itinerary. I do not recommend going on Norwegian because if anything is messed up, they will not help you.

Great way to get a taste of Alaska! by lsands12760743

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Good way to see Alaska in a quick and organized fashion. Loved the ports. Loved Alaska. Would love to go back and we would take a cruise again if we go. The spa and entertainment were the only areas I would have rated anything less than a 3. The spa and the entertainment were a 2. The rest of the cruise was a 5.
